Jikkipig thank you for sharing your story, gives hope to us all with long cycles after the pill.

And a huge congratulations!!!! Xxx

Poin86 · 13/06/2016 23:20

Congratulations Jikkipug hope for those long cycle girls!

AF should be here first thing tomorrow.. can normally set your watch by her so we will see!xx

Pyjamas81 · 13/06/2016 23:22

Congrats Jikkipug! And thanks for sharing Smile

Purpleviola14 · 13/06/2016 23:42

I think AF might have arrived Sad
On the other hand I'll be glad if it is as its my first since coming off the pill making that a 74 day cycle.
That would have made my luteal phase only 10 days. Just wondering if anyone else had experience of this?

Also thanks Marmite and hi Pyjamas! Welcome Smile
Xx

Purpleviola14 · 13/06/2016 23:44

Oh and thanks for sharing Jikkipug, there's hope for us all, congratulations xx

marmitetoast1 · 14/06/2016 08:32

Congratulations jikkipug! That's a lovely positive outcome!

I thought I had Ov'd at weekend (based purely on cm and levels of friskiness!) but early hours of this morning woke up with sharp-ish pulling/twingeing/tugging sensation right where right ovary would be. This morning it has eased a bit but still tender/tuggy in same area. Just wondered if this matches what anyone else has that they think/know is Ov pain?
I have ibs so do get quite a lot of random twinges Grin but pretty sure it's not that as wrong area! I did also go to pilates class last night, so could just be random muscle twinge!??
I'm pretty sure I didn't have this either of previous 2 months but this could well be first month I've actually Ov'd since pill!
If that was Ov in the night, I have still got 3x dtds in last 5 days.

Glad and not got glad for your AF arrival purple. At least now you know where you are and can start afresh next cycle, for hopefully a shorter cycle!

Pyjamas81 · 14/06/2016 09:47

AF is finally here!! Will be the last time she's welcome ha ha. Cycle 1 - here we come. That means that was a 32 day wait for first AF, which isn't too bad - hopefully will be back to a regular 28 day one soon. Will just start OPK testing as if it were a 28 day cycle anyway, just in case!

I'll be symptom spotting along with you soon marmite!

Sorry* AF got you purple* - at least it's somewhat a return to normality though so you can start seeing what's what properly though Smile

Jjspoon · 14/06/2016 12:49

Welcome to cycle 1 purple and pyjamas! Let's hope we all get a BFP this one!

marmitetoast1 · 14/06/2016 13:18

32 days is within the 'normal' range pyjamas! I'd been pretty chuffed with that! Hoping my 36/37 days reduces this month...!

Poin86 · 14/06/2016 14:49

FX Marmite - long cycles must be so annoying when TTC. Well.. nothing yet! Had a feeling of being "wet" a few times but nothing at all occurring. Ovia has bumped it back to tomorrow but not sure if it does that anyway if you tell it you haven't started your period on the day it thinks? I'm putting this out here as what normally happens is I say something is lost/late/traffic is bad and it seems to turn up/clear. Always happens so expect she will appear soon lol. Lost a ring not too long ago, put a post on FB and immediately found it where I'd already checked twice lol.xx

marmitetoast1 · 14/06/2016 16:46

Thanks poin. Yeah i think Ovia bumps it back once you log no period. It kept bumping it back by a day at a time for almost 2 weeks for me last month - annoying!

I've realised that unless my cycle shortens significantly, my AF/etd is going to be while we're on holiday in Italy... Best pack a few sticks to pee on as well as tampons etc!!

Poin86 · 14/06/2016 17:38

Ah OK. I'm leaving off testing until tomorrow morning if she doesn't rear her head before then!

Have you tried Agnus Castus? (Sorry if you've mentioned it somewhere in the long feed) know a few girls did try it to shorten and regulated their periods. I didn't have to use that luckily for me as it contains lactose and my cycles went back to being regular straight away with strong OPKS.xx

ClaireSunflower · 14/06/2016 19:42

Congrats jikkipug what a lovely story and gives us all a bit of hope! Wishing you a happy pregnancy!

purple sorry about AF and don't worry about your luteal phase. 10 days is fine, my first one was a very short 7 days which increased to 10 last time (and hopefully increasing)

I'm on cd18 and still no ovulation... The last 2 cycles I've ov'd on cd23 so bit of a long wait for me. I don't think agnus castus is doing a lot for me so I'm going to try soy isoflavones next cycle i think as they are supposed to bring ovulation forward.

Purpleviola14 · 14/06/2016 19:48

Thanks girls, I am pleased something is finally happening but my god does it feel like I've been kicked in the pelvis! She is back with a vengeance.

Claire-thanks, that's reassuring, hopefully it will get longer as you say. What are soy isoflavones? Never hear of them till now.
Xx

MishyBakes · 14/06/2016 21:04

Can I join this thread please? I'm very new to the forums, so apologies if I'm not up to speed with all the abbreviations! I hope everyone is doing well. Sorry if I ramble on here!

I've been on various contraceptives for the last 10 years, including COCP, Nexplanon implants x 3 and at the beginning of this year the POP. I have also been taking topirimate for migraines for the last few years, but have now come off that at the end of April. I stopped taking the POP then as well, and immedietely had a light bleed for 4 days. Previously cycles have been 40-50 days with a heavy flow, so it's quite a change.

I've been using Ovia and CB OPKs to track my cycles, and at the moment I'm not ovulating according to the kit. My cycle is now 30-31 days long, so I'm hoping that my hormones start to normalise and that ovulation will happen! Just in case, I've bought some agnus castus to see if it helps. I'm also taking 5mg of folic acid a day (the higher dose was recommended by my GP).

So this month will be cycle number 2 of ttc, cd3. Any advice on keeping calm? Thanks for taking the time to read this!

Jikkipug · 14/06/2016 21:15

Thanks girls! Just had a positive wee test at the docs just waiting for a scan, don't feel like I can get too excited as it feels too good to be true and I've just read that a CYST can cause the pregnancy hormone 😳 Back to the cyst fear.. Only a scan will tell..

I didn't have a single sign of ovulation! I was looking out for EWCM, twinges, spotting.. NOTHING... I have absolutely no idea when it happened haha! Just keep baby dancing away 😉

Jjspoon · 15/06/2016 03:28

Fx for you poin! Sounds positive if you're usually that regular and hope it comes back good news for you jikkipug

Poin86 · 15/06/2016 07:11

Well she's here. 24 hours late but here all the same. Appeared as soon as I got up which is the normal time but just late so playing a trick on me. I know it can be normal to have fluctuations in dates but I'm so regular it had me hoping! Oh well. Had a dream last night that we had a talk and he was OK with it but too scared to discuss it with him at the moment in case he says not yet again! Had a bad evening and feel crap mood wise today anyway so that's just cemented it today so I'm going to be a happy soul at work. Roll on Friday, I need a drink!!

FX for you all and hope you all get those BFPs soon.xx

Pyjamas81 · 15/06/2016 07:46

Sorry to hear AF got you PoinSad Enjoy a glass or three of Wine and maybe a cheeky bit of Cake and Chocolate

Jjspoon · 15/06/2016 12:38

Sorry to hear poin but enjoy a drink tonight and onwards to the next cycle!

I have EWCM today, yay! Qas starting to stress about it. Cd15 so later than last month but at least it's here at last! Will dilr the next week haha. We dtd on cd12 too so hopefully haven't missed anything anyway.

marmitetoast1 · 15/06/2016 12:47

Sorry about AF poin Flowers and yes i have seen some talk on agnus cactus on here, am keeping it in my back pocket for now! Trying to go with as relaxed and simple approach as possible for now. Will see how long that lasts..!

Fx for good news jikki

Welcome mishy

CD 20 here but could have a while to wait yet...Hmm

Loulabelle1990 · 15/06/2016 13:34

Hello my ladies!

I've been a lurker this week as I've nothing to report. At that boring stage waiting for ovulation. It's so frustrating having long cycles as it seems to take forever for anything to happen! According to my CB digital I should start testing from next weekend which is handy as DH is on a reasonable shift at work!

Congratulations to you jikki! Thanks for letting us know & giving us all hope! You'll have to let us know how you get on.

Sorry AF got you poin. My AF was 3 days late. Went from 33 days to 36 which is rubbish! They were getting shorter but now seem to be getting longer!!

Good luck to you jjspoon, hope you catch the egg!

Welcome to all the newbies!!

Marmite are you doing OPK's?

xxx

marmitetoast1 · 15/06/2016 16:27

Hey loulabelle, I hear you on the long cycles!! No, I'm not using opks at the moment, but I do have some that I bought on Amazon and was planning on using them next cycle I think. Need to figure out exactly what I'm doing with them... Are you using them at the moment?

Loulabelle1990 · 15/06/2016 17:27

Hey marmite!

Yeah I started using the CB digital one last cycle, it was so good and so much easier than using the Internet cheapies, but obviously more expensive. I couldn't get on with having to hold my wee for 4 hours and not being able to use FMU etc. They're easy to use, just a bit more faffy in my opinion!

BoBo90 · 15/06/2016 19:23

Hi girls!!!

Really thought I wasn't going to ovulate this cycle and then BOOM! Out of the blue I get a super positive opk AND ewcm!! This is the first time I've seen Ewcm since coming off the pill!!! 😄😄😄😄 I'm so happy I literally bounced over to dh to tell him! Dtd later, tomorrow and (depending on I I feel a wee egg pop) the day after! 😊

Good luck all!!
