Thread for anyone TTC for over ten months. Please feel free to join us!

Took the liberty of starting a new thread (with what is obviously a brilliant piece of rhyme!) as I assume everyone else is sleeping peacefully right now :)

Hi star and thanks. It's a long old road. Ec at 7.45am tomorrow Shock

star1980 · 09/05/2016 18:09

Omg Good Luck!!!

BorisIsBack · 09/05/2016 18:36

Hey ladies sorry for the silence from me. I've been stalking you all and reading your updates.

Banana lovely I've been thinking of you - you'll be back on the waggon soon.

Lucie big hugs to you.

Maple good job on dtd-ing! You asked ages ago about vits. I take cq10, ubiqinol, selenium, pregnacare, and extra folic acid.

Brenna Flowers chin up girl - you'll be there soon.

Star very excited for your wedding. I pushed my consultant on whether I needed iui or not. She said because of my age (37) and aMH I should try iui but because I'm self funding not to bother - go straight to ivf...

Trixie - it's come round so quickly. Good luck for the rest of your jabs and for Monday's EC. I'll be waving pom poms for you and praying you get lots of eggs.

Mpp- how many stressful life changing things do you want to put yourself through? Good luck to you in all of them. I'm in awe at your stamina. I'll be stalking you properly as the ivf starts :)

Someone from bumsnet is going to reprofit in July probably - I've tried to get her to come here for support. if a dizzyM shows up be nice to her :)

Itsme - won't be long now :)

Bean welcome to the thread and good luck for your ivf. You are in the right place with these ladies.

As for me, I hope this is ok to post here, well I had a 12 week scan today and all looks good Tge baby is a few days bigger than it should be but as I'm not small and DH is a giant its not surprising. someone asked ages ago about the underware ruining progesterone suppositories - well I can confirm they not only kill your pants but also pyjamas and anything else. Forget panty liners some days, strap on a matress. I'm sorry I haven't posted more - trying to avoid questions about how I am and giving answers about pregnancy side effects which may upset others. Hope this quick update is ok though - forgive me if not.

Much love to you all. Sorry if I missed anyone.

BorisIsBack · 09/05/2016 18:37

Bean I'll be thinking if you early tomorrow - good luck! X

beanhunter · 09/05/2016 18:57

Thanks boris and congrats on your scan. Can't wait for the progesterone supps....

JustTrixie · 09/05/2016 19:01

Thank you Boris, was going to say your 12 week scan must be due soon, brilliant news that all looks good Smile

Try not to worry Bean, I was so nervous before EC last time but it was fine. One second I was chatting to the anesthetist and the next I was coming round. Do you know roughly how many eggs they are hoping to collect?

I definitely think we're in good hands at King's Star. I'm not too sure how I feel about having my dose reduced, as long as we get an ok haul I'm happy and if this means avoiding the effects of OHSS it's a good thing. I just worry that my levels being high may affect whether treatment is successful. Tbh I don't really understand it all but will ask questions on Wednesday. Yes, intralipids are sorted for Thursday was a bit difficult sorting it logistically but got there in the end Smile

JustTrixie · 09/05/2016 19:03

Ps forgot to say good luck Bean!

And Boris you must be soo pleased to say good bye to the pessaries. This time next week I'll hopefully be getting started. I have not missed them.

loopylou1984 · 09/05/2016 19:06

Boris of course it's ok! We all want to know that you're ok, and that baby is doing well! I stalk you on the pregnancy thread anyway

Welcome bean and good luck for EC. Keep drinking as much as possible. It will help with the discomfort.

Trixie I can't believe your EC has come round so quickly, good luck to you too!

Maple - sometimes you just need a good cry. No shame in that. Fx for your iui or an ironidif

Brenna - I'm glad you had a lovely weekend.

Banana - goodness you must be rattling with all those bits. I've cut right bs k and am now only taking folic acid and liquid iron.

Itsme- your almost at the starting blocks too! It's going to be an exciting few weeks on the thread please stay with me if you all get your BFPs

Waves to anyone I've missed.

No news here. Don't think I've ovd yet at cd14. Very relaxing Accupuncture today so hopefully she's got that egg to pop out... Not that I really think it has that much effect! Xx

Ilovewillow · 09/05/2016 19:19

Not sure if it helps but good luck all and don't give up hope. It took us 8 yrs and finally we had a beautiful little girl via IVF and a beautiful little boy via FET 5 yes later. It was tough but don't give up and support each other and maintain your sense of humour!!

beanhunter · 09/05/2016 19:37

Thanks Trixie and sammy. At scan ok Sunday I had 20 follicles. One is a cyst so prob not viable and one def too small. She said they expect to get 80% of the 18 so I guess that's 13-14ish? Still new to this all!

BorisIsBack · 09/05/2016 19:47

13-14 is brilliant, bean - best of luck.

lucieloos · 09/05/2016 20:39

Hi everyone just a quick update from me. Had my blood test today and in the last 10 days the hcg has gone up again from 148 to 255 which is obviously very disappointing but I think I'm going to accept the injection now. We would be too late for any treatment before our holidays in June now anyway so we will enjoy that and I may look to do the mini ivf in Czech mid July as will have been 2.5 months since injection then. They say wait 3 months but I wouldn't be having a transfer just freezing so hopefully my eggs won't be too affected. Really gutted as I find the waiting the hardest part about this process. It's hard enough waiting between egg collections but this just feels a cruel blow but not much else we can do I guess.

Sorry for the lack of personals. Bean and Trixie hope the egg collections go well and hi to everyone else. Boris amazing news about your scan x

Brenna24 · 09/05/2016 21:24

That is fantastic news Boris. Please do give us updates. I know what a huge milestone it is to get to 12 weeks (having not made it past 11 yet) and I am so happy to hear there is hope.

13 - 14 sounds brilliant Bean (although I am no expert).

I am so sorry Lucie. That sucks. Have a big unmumsnetty hug from me and some wine and chocolate.

maplebaby · 09/05/2016 21:42

Thanks Trixie I do feel a lot better today and more positive. A build up of it all and the constant baby bombs / birth announcements etc I think.

MPP hope you had an amazing hen - what did you do?? I don't envy you and the essays! Congratulations on the house news! We moved in December after a stressful few months - so pleased we are here now and have so much more space! (One small empty room used as laundry room atm but really the plan was always to use as a nursery... Hopefully one day!)

Star it really is shit isn't it. I know I keep saying that I'm not as far into the journey as everyone else but I'm in awe of you all. I've never wanted someone to ever have a BFP as much as I do now for all of you on here!! Really praying 2016 is the year for us.

Bean all the best for tomorrow! Thinking of you!

Boris so pleased to hear about your 12 week scan! I hope it gave you a little wave! It was me that asked about the progesterone suppositories - your reply about the mattress made me laugh out on the bus! Haha why do they ruin clothes, are they oily or something?! I haven't had the pleasure of having to use them yet!

Sammy do you mind me asking why you decided to cut back on the vits? I think I've stuck to just folic acid up until now because I read some posts about pregnacare messing with people's cycles?? Think I might give them a go though.

Lucie eugh I'm sorry about the hcg results.

I'm gutted for you but I guess it's the best to get it done now that your hols are coming up. I hope you get a nice break before perhaps going for the mini IVF. Are you going anywhere nice? (Sorry if you have already said before!)

loopylou1984 · 09/05/2016 22:01

Maple - no real reason, other than I was fed up with spending all that money on things that clearly haven't made an iota of difference! Pregnacare never upset my cycles at all, but I have heard of it doing so.
The suppositories leave a kind of oily residue. It's gross. Worse than stabbing yourself in my opinion!

Oh Lucie. That's rubbish. I'm so annoyed that this can happen. But as Maple says I'm glad you're off on hols to make the wait go quicker. I'm with you on the waiting being the worst part, I'm terrible at it - hence embarking on the Accupuncture train while waiting!

DizzyM - if you're lurking come and join us :).

maplebaby · 09/05/2016 22:20

Actually I was meaning to ask do you ladies all temp?? I bought a thermometer off amazon a while ago but never used it but thinking, now that the consultant said I ovulated last cycle, I'm going to give it a go.

Not sure where to start with it - on CD1 and at the same time every morning? I'm a light sleeper so I tend to wake in the night but go back to sleep fairly quickly. Hope that doesn't affect it too much!

loopylou1984 · 09/05/2016 22:30

Again I used to, ovulation was always pretty obvious on the charts for me. Great way to stop yourself over analysing on a long cycle if there's no temp rise!
Same time every morning before moving or talking. Ideally after 3 hours solid sleep but I found this didn't make a huge difference. Cd1 is perfect to start, but no harm in starting wherever you are now just to get in the habit. Xx

stealthbanana · 09/05/2016 22:35

lucie really sorry to hear that. The injection is a pain however the consequences of an ectopic would be so much worse and slow you down for longer. Keep on keeping on, lady

MPP you are a dynamo! Good luck for essays, wedding prep, house stuff...big year for you.

maple I didn't temp as with PCOS it is a waste of time. But I know others have had great success.

brenna your anniversary weekend sounds fab. It is our wedding anniversary this weekend, you've inspired me to buy some new underwear! Grin

beanhunter welcome and GOOD LUCK for tomorrow. The 2ww is brutal, this group is such a support.

To everyone else - sorry am on phone.

lucieloos · 10/05/2016 06:44

Thanks everyone in pretty gutted but can't keep going on like this either I just need to draw a line under it all now.

Maple, we are going to turkey for 10 nights for some sun and relaxation. I'm looking forward to it as haven't had a holiday for 2 years.

Hi stealth, hope all is going well with you.

BorisIsBack · 10/05/2016 07:12

Lucie so sorry the numbers are going up, the injection must feel devastating but at least it will end this horrible saga for you. Flowers Turkey sounds wonderful.

Maple the pregnacare added 1.5 days to my cycle which as my cycles are short was no bad thing really. For other people with long cycles that kind of impact is horrible.

The suppositories just create an oily, gunky mess. It's also not conducive to sex (excuse me darling, hold that erection whilst I just flush out some congealed tablets)

JustTrixie · 10/05/2016 10:29

I was so hoping for better news for you yesterday Lucie, like the others have said though, at least with the injection you will be able to draw a line under it. 10 days in Turkey sounds lovely, you definitely deserve a break.

Hope it went well this morning Bean!

Thanks Sammy, I definitely think acupuncture helps, will be having some myself on transfer day.

Maple, I used to temp, haven't done it for ages though. It is brilliant for confirming ovulation. I found that my cycles lengthened by up to 5 days when I was taking pregnacare way back when I started TTC. The Zita West supplements also seemed to lengthen my cycle but decided to stick with them over the last few months and last cycle was only actually a couple of days longer.

MPP81 · 10/05/2016 11:03

Thanks all! I'm stupidly excited now! :)

Star a December wedding sounds lovely, and it's nice to have something else to think about as well as ttc. I hope you feel a bit better about the iui now, though I can see why you're frustrated at waiting and having to pay to wait!

Bean how did your egg collection go?? Hope everything was OK!

Boris lovely to hear from you! I'm so glad your 12 week scan went well! I hope you're feeling ok. I'm also stalking you when I can Grin

Dizzym if you're reading this, I'm also going to reprofit in July or August. Feel free to join us Smile

Trixie I'm sorry, I must have missed that they're lowering your dose. Hopefully it won't make a difference to your haul, and as you said, avoiding OHSS is a good thing. I hope you get your questions answered tomorrow!

Sammy fingers crossed the acupuncture has encouraged your egg. I'm still quite intrigued by acupuncture in general. It sounds quite relaxing.

Lucie I'm so sorry about the hcg going up. I can't imagine how disappointed you must feel. I was hoping you wouldn't need to take the medication. I hope you have a lovely lovely time when you go on holiday. You deserve it Flowers

Maple I had a fab hen, thank you. Cocktail class, then lots of drinking, singing and laughing! We're looking for a house with a 'spare' bedroom, just in case, though I imagine it'll end up as a laundry room if things don't work out like we've planned! I temped for a while. I found it quite interesting, and it also felt like I was doing something instead of just waiting round. I dropped it after my DP'S SA though as it started to seem a bit pointless with his low count. Same time every day, after your longest sleep or at least 3 hours sleep, if I remember correctly.

waves to Stealth Hope you're OK! Grin

Brenna24 · 10/05/2016 11:14

Best of luck for today Bean.

I temp. I just started wherever I was in the cycle and accepted that the first cycle I wasn't going to get anything useful out. I take my temperature at the same time each morning, but it doesn't seem to matter if I have been up and down during the night or not.

Pregnacare made no difference to my cycles at all. And I feel that this way I am getting the maximum chance of every vitamin being in place.

I just laughed out loud in the office at that image Boris. Grin Brilliant. The indignities we go through.

Enjoy your anniversary Stealth. Grin

DizzyMerry · 10/05/2016 12:15

Hi everyone, yes I am lurking and thanks boris Smile for pointing me in this direction and giving the other ladies a heads up.

I didn't feel I could join in here as I already have a DD and really don't want to cause any upset or frustration to others by moaning. Although it took us 3 years to conceive DD and it's now been over 2 years since we've been ttc#2 and without sounding patronising I can understand how hard it is must be for you all.

You all sound absolutely lovely - I 'know' sammy, boris from bumsnet and also lucie. However, I would understand if you'd rather I didn't post on here as I know that it can be upsetting for those that are ttc#1. Good luck with your journeys it's exciting and scary all at the same time!

JustTrixie · 10/05/2016 12:29

Hi Dizzy, you are more than welcome to join us, sorry to hear that it is taking so long to conceive again but sounds like you have a plan in place.
