Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.
  5. Thou shalt not be offended by the word vagina.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others. Also known as 'the witch', 'bitch witch' and 'that one with the red shiny convertible'

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a Kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit), or PIATLH (Tea light holder), PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in! PONF = Pee on Nigel Farage (Self explanatory)

ROC = Receptacle of Choice - what one chooses to use for the task of POAS. Optional decorations include photographs of controversial political leaders.

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet or jizz in the eye. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Jizz in a bra = how we transport the jizz to the Sperm Queen

Shagging like 'something' = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into TTC obsession. Warning - this may happen to you if you start trying to POAS at 5dpo. PUT. THE. PISSY. STICK. DOWN. IT'S TOO EARLY!

Contraband (or Cuntraband) = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

SOTM = Shagger of the Month. Awarded with varying regularity to those viroids who go above and beyond EOD shagging in pursuit of that BFP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture. AKA Schroedingering!
TWPU - Two Week Piss Up!

Keeping your gingers = fingers crossed, yet another autocorrect development! Shortened to 'gx'

Doing a Lemon = Testing WAAAAAAAY to early!

Miroid - The male compadre of a viroid

Cat - Compulsory

Skittletits - Killer molten painful tits and nipples

Ghost jizz/goat jazz - When the amazing foof sucks up all the jizz - achieved when coming at the same time/nearly the same time.

Sorry the witch got you corgi - g&t is well deserved! Fake tan on your wedding day is all the rage here some not too subtle either Not sure why - I live in Ireland, the sun doesn't bloom shine here & practically everyone has pale celtic skin Confused

TWOT is doing my head in. Almost driving me to drink, but I'm fighting hard to resist.

justtheonethen · 30/07/2016 00:11

country are you a photographer? I don't want to plan a wedding for after IVF when I'll hopefully be upduffed! I'm not after a big do so its easy to organise!

justtheonethen · 30/07/2016 00:12

Sorry to those who are out this month. Gin all round Wine

ChatEnOeuf · 30/07/2016 09:21

Oh bugger, Corgi. That's timing for you. Hope the gin alleviated some of the pain. Work has kept me occupied for the last few days so I was good and didn't pee early. Compromised on the night out and had wine with dinner but then left early - it's been a monstrous week and several of us felt the same! Due today but BFN on an IC this morning. So we wait...

AliceScarlett · 30/07/2016 09:37

Perioded on a stick this morning. No doubt about that BFN! Hello cycle 8 (thought it was 9).

ZylaB · 30/07/2016 10:43

I don't even think I'm going to ovulate this cycle. Ffs, my body hates me.

angelazul · 30/07/2016 12:05

Sounds like some vidroids are having a shitty time Flowers & Wine all round.

I'm so peeved off at dh, he came home rip roaring drunk from a work thing last night when he was just meant to be going for a few Angry Angry Angry I'm doing everything I can to try to be as healthy as possible to get preggers, feel like I'm the only one making a bloody effort. We've got friends coming to stay later to go out for his birthday meal which I'm so not looking forward to now.

ChatEnOeuf · 30/07/2016 13:33

Angel - my recurrent miscarriage lady told me categorically that reducing alcohol intake was significantly more important for the bloke to be doing than the gal.

Alice - sorry about the witch but that did make me laugh!

Your body doesn't hate you Zy, it's just been through a lot and is settling back down.

Canters15 · 31/07/2016 09:17

Hello lovely viroids. kwick I'm doing well thanks, just moved into our new house and getting settled! Also just found out my best friend is getting proposed to next week, I am so excited and may have sobbed an unreasonable amount! Did you have a good birthday?

I have a love hate relationship with fake tan. I am quite fair but get told I look best with my hair dark brown....which then makes me look pale, so I feel compelled to tan. Didn't bother for my wedding day though despite having v dark hair, and no point now as have given up on trying to look good and am letting the mouse shine through!

Sorry for bfns and afs.

kwick · 01/08/2016 19:29

canters how are you feeling? I had a lovely, albeit solitary birthday - where I went on an open top bus, melted a whole load of plastic and had afternoon tea Grin

coribeth · 01/08/2016 22:53

OK so started using a clear blue fertility monitor this cycle as am unless at reading the stupid little ic's sheer desperation and first two test days where low the last eight have been high but no peak yet am I just being impatient or does that seem like a long time to anyone else? Confused

Fleurchamp · 02/08/2016 09:50

Ive just started using the CB monitor coribeth on day 4 so far and got my first flashing smiley today Grin I will let you know if I ever get a solid one.

I think I read somewhere that it can take 10 days? Or maybe it just missed ov? I dunno. I am clueless about these things - I have also bought a job lot of cheap opks and am doing those in tandem in the hope that it will help me read the little blighters.

CountryGal4 · 02/08/2016 11:48

I am just!

coribeth · 02/08/2016 22:58

Hmm I'm assuming I haven't missed the peak as it's still high and I'm guessing it will read low again straight after unless I really don't get this shiz! Confused

weddingblahblahblah · 03/08/2016 00:05

Shame you can't do October then country, can I sway you with a fancy lunch which you would obviously be included in?! Go on you know you want to! Wink

ChatEnOeuf · 03/08/2016 10:59

CD34 today, BFN again yesterday and spotting, so probably out this month. New doc day feeling a bit weird as I'm only half changing jobs (the bit that's staying the same is the bit that I love, so I'm half happy). Trust induction is sucking my soul dry.

Also clueless about the other kind of peesticks, but I'm sure others who understand will be along sooner or later.

CountryGal4 · 03/08/2016 13:45

It's complicated just. I've added you fb... I'll explain

Fleurchamp · 03/08/2016 14:10

Boo chat doesn't sound like the induction is doing much to take your mind off things.

Second week back at work after mat leave and I am feeling awful. I can't sleep for worrying about work - all of my confidence has gone and I just feel like I am doing a rubbish job on all fronts Sad
I honestly don't know how you do your job chat - all I keep telling myself is that "no one dies" if I mess up....

Hobbit19 · 03/08/2016 15:25

Fleur, be kind to yourself. I'm scared of going back to work so I understand how you feel. I'm sure you are doing a fab job.

Zyla, very gentle hooya. Your body has been through so much, but it gets you from A to B everyday, allows you to be mobile and grew and birthed the fabulous H. I know you are processing a lot but please be kind to yourself and to your body, you deserve to feel good.

There seems to be some kind of vague feelings in my womble have already POAS obvs so I'm hoping that we may be progressing towards icing/AF. Gx.

Fleurchamp · 03/08/2016 16:56

Gx pud have you been using opks? I cannot get my head around them...

kwick · 04/08/2016 07:37

I am back from Corfu - I came out in spots all over back and neck... Not sure what has caused it... Maybe Norethisterone which I am taking days 14-25 this cycle in preparation for egg collection next cycle. Maybe suntan lotion? Maybe allergic reaction to sun/water/???
Anyhoo I have a "bacial" at 11am and also a hair appointment, my hair is in a right state!

Hobbit19 · 04/08/2016 07:47

'Bacial'? Bum facial?! (I'm presuming not but I can't work out what else it would be!) Grin

Not using opks Fleur, I didn't last time, just went with ewcm, ov pains etc. We also DTD lots. None of the above has happened since having P so I think that plus lack of AF = no icing. Planning to night wean soon though so that may kick start something....

Fleurchamp · 04/08/2016 08:38

Also wondering what a bacial is.... Hmm

It must be frustrating not to have AF pud (never thought I would say that!) - mine didn't come back until 6 weeks after I completely stopped BF and I was down to one feed a day at that point.

I am off to work. Currently skulking in a coffee shop. I am actually shaking. Pull yourself together woman!!!!

Hobbit19 · 04/08/2016 16:46

Aw Fleur, is there anyone who can offer support/mentoring at work? Another Mum who has come back from Mat leave?

Yeah I know a few people who's AF hasn't returned until they finished feeding. I'm planning on feeding Xmas pud until she is at least 2 (especially given the CMPA restrictions), so it's not looking great for the small age gap. However if Xmas pud doesn't self wean before then I will be amazed - she is all about the FOOD. Takes after her Mum
