Back to SQUARE ONE CD1! Anyone want to spend April with me?!

So AF got me this afternoon!! Trying not to get down in the dumps (although I just watched 'one born every minute' on catch-up and sobbed!)
Dusting myself off and hoping for better luck in April! A few stats:
Age-33
TTC-5th cycle
DC-1 DS (3.5 years old)
Anyone else at the start of their cycle and trying something new in the hope of a more successful month?!

Aaww tee... I am Cd 13 though hehe I got positive on Cd 12 last month.
I will keep close eye in CM now as this will give me idea as to when I'm ovulating if it turns water like from creamy.
I've ordered a basal temp thermometer - it's on it's way! Hopefully it will arrive tomorrow.

Tee sorry can you remind me how long you have been trying for? Is it your first? What cd are you at the moment?

Oh whoops, haha!!
Temping is really helpful, I didn't bother from the start this month as I've got 3 months of charts. I'm getting curious again though so might record BBT over the next week, so I can catch the temp spike which confirms ovulation happened.
This is my 5th cycle TTC. Have 1 DS (he's 3.5), very broody for another! Currently CD7, trying out the smep this time and lots of healthy eating 😊 DH thinks all his birthdays have come at once, Masters on the the telly and BDing on tap (I think the golf is doing it for him more than me though!) 😂😂

Starting ov testing tomorrow too as AF has disappeared! Woo hoo Grin
I got a BBT thing too, but really no idea what temp is normal, going to research it tonight!

Not sure my DH will understand all this research and obsessing I'm doing as he has the v laid back approach! It will happen when it happens. I wanted to b like that but have no patience!

Yes Christmas not ideal time really but like u say RaddersMrs don't want to not try this month just incase its a lucky month. At least we can eat lots over Christmas as we will need the extra calories hopefully! Smile

Tee- maybe try both at same time - he will def be a happy man Wink

Tee I'm going to try the smep seeing as I have positive ovulation. So Dtd tonight (done!) tomorrow and Thursday, break on Friday and then again on Saturday.

My OH is taking a real interest in ovulation, CM.. Everything! When I did the opk earlier he constantly asking me if it had got darker... Bless him.
He's really supportive and when I was having a panic that I had no pregnancy tests in the house to do the next morning last cycle drove me to morrisons to get one late at night.
I think men deal with things in different ways. Some will take an interest in everything and others would prefer not to know. They are more laid back because it isn't their body... It's difficult as a woman not knowing what your own body is doing.

I agree with footprints - bit of both at same time!! Haha

I think it's totally adorable when the menfolk take an interest too! Wanting to know about CM?! Wow impressive radders! Mine was asking me about my BBT chart last night, very sexy.

I am currently CD33 and really hoping AF will just show up already as pregnancy almost impossible from this month... However, at least my LP increased to at least 10 days and counting this month! Woohoo vit b6!

Temping is not about individual temps, but the patter that emerges over the cycle and several cycles. It's been great fun for me learning all about it and trying to figure out what my wonky cycles are doing!

Jod - a couple cycles ago I was looking up when to test, and it seems false negatives drastically drop with early tests after 11dpo - down to like 20% of people who later went on to become pregnant from 31% false BFN on 10dpo. Fingers crossed!

How comes it's almost impossible physicskate?
How long are your cycles normally??
Have you POAS?

Report
physicskate · 05/04/2016 23:51

No sex during my fertile week (parents came to visit - yay) and my cycles vary between 28 and 37 days seemingly. They were regular as clockwork (31 days) before November! Darn body playing tricks as soon as we start TTC!! Plus it feels as though AF is imminent. Would wait a few more days to test considering how extremely unlikely it is to have happened this cycle!

We officially start trying this month. Just want to get this month rolling! Might skip the vit B6 tomorrow...

I couldn't wait. I woke at 3am and tested. First I used an IC and I could see a line so I went for the first response. It's very faint but there is a line there. It's only 9days PO so I will test again in two days.

Just made the photo negative as I heard that can show up lines better and I swear there is a line there right?

Yup there's a faint line there Jod!! How exciting! Be good to see it get darker over the coming days tho, but I think we can take it as the thread's first BFP?!
Radders & physicskate, so lovely your OHs take such an interest! Mine doesn't know or ask a single thing, other than if the extra sexy underwear is coming out again (usually reserve that towards the end of the fertile window so he can't turn it down.... sneaky!)

Wow Jod there's definitely a line there!! Congrats and you are soooo lucky to get it first month after coil.
3am.. What are u like!! You must have been rubbing your eyes to see it.SmileSmileSmileThanks

You must be thrilled. Test again tomorrow and I'm sure the line will be darker, or try the opk if u have one as they are suppose to come up positive too.

Congrats Jod!
There's definitely a faint line. I could only see it in the negative photo... Good tip!
When will you test again to see a darker line?
You must be super fertile!!

Jod that is fantastically amazing! There is a faint shimmer of a line that wouldn't be there if the hormone wasn't there! I hope it gets darker over the next couple of days!

Still no AF here... CD34 but only 11 dpo, which is nice that my LP has increased from 8 days last month but aggravating at the same time! I would think about testing when I got to 14 dpo, as that is a normal LP. Feels like AF is on her way though!

Tee4me · 06/04/2016 10:21

Sorry to hear the physicskate, but you never know!
Seen lots of references to a long LP being better than a short one, why is that?? It's not been on my radar when TTC, maybe it should be!
Word of warning to the baby aspirin takers out there... I've come out in a rash all over my torso and neck 😞 Thought I had chicken pox at first, but after lots of digging, it sounds very consistent with petechiae (little burst capillaries under the skin) which is a complication of taking blood thinners. Think I will cut down to 1 low dose every 3 days. Will try and get to the docs later to go through everything with them including my mc in March, probably better it's all on the record. Hope I don't get told off for taking aspirin without doc supervision!! xx

Longer LP allows for implantation, which can take 6-11 days from fertilisation. If your LP is too short, you may have a fertilised egg that can't implant because AF has already started. So 8 days LP is bad, which is what I had last cycle, so I started taking a low dose of vit B6 (along with B12, which I heard helps B6). Not that I am any expert; April is our first month TTC, though we've had a few months of 'not' not trying...

I didn't have sex within a week of ovulation (either side) cause I was away and then my parents were here, so really I would be very surprised if this were the month, in fact I really just want to get waiting for next month! Growing very annoyed with my body!

Tee4me · 06/04/2016 11:37

Ah that's makes sense, thanks physicskate! Think mine is usually 15 days.
I know what you mean about cracking on with the next month, sometimes AF is a relief because you just want to start afresh and give it your best.
It was mentioned earlier in the thread, but pineapple and brazil nuts are supposed to facilitate implantation. I've stocked up, can't hurt! x

Does that include Brazil nuts covered in chocolate?? I love them Halo

Don't see why not! There should still be selenium in them!

BTW, I know I am a massive science nerd (the clue is in my name), so sorry when I get all geeky!

Thanks ladies. I'm in shock and disbelief. Keep looking at the test. I haven't told DH yet as I want to see a more definite test first. Will test again Friday morning I think.

Yay for watery CM!
