So AF got me this afternoon!! Trying not to get down in the dumps (although I just watched 'one born every minute' on catch-up and sobbed!)
Dusting myself off and hoping for better luck in April! A few stats:
Age-33
TTC-5th cycle
DC-1 DS (3.5 years old)
Anyone else at the start of their cycle and trying something new in the hope of a more successful month?!

I'm a physics teacher, though my field of research used to be piezoelectrics (trying to turn forces into electrical current - think pavement being walked on to generate electricity)... but upwards and onwards they say! With a little one in tow not sure I will be able to keep up with teaching - might have to get a nice cushy job in engineering or summat.

Funnily enough, I take pretty much those supplements! Except for CoQ10- it's crazy expensive! It's on the list to add if we don't conceive before the end of the summer hols. Diet could use some improvements...

Your job sounds interesting, I wasn't very good at science. My son has been playing this new game called little alchemy. You have to mix components to create things/ it's quite addictive! You would be a pro at that.

Something else I stumbled across- fertility massage -

Looks good, although not sure when I can fit it in. Peeing on sticks has taken over my life! Blush

Good shout Jem, nice to see the grads! Let's hope we all pop over to that list sooner rather than later!!
Physics all sounds very interesting! Engineering would definitely offer more flexibility I reckon! I couldn't keep up a full time job once DS was here, but I know everybody is different, some have to go back, some chose to go back... it can be tricky finding the right balance.
What does everybody else do for work? So nice to hear about the personalities behind the names Smile xx

I'm an assistant manager for a customer based department in the Packaging industry. Probably printed some of the cartons you buy from the supermarket :)

After baby I hope to go back part time ... I won't be doing full time.

I take them separately... Got most of them from tesco xx

I have never heard of piezoelectrics before psychics! It sounds really interesting. I bet teaching science can be challenging. I remember the poor science teachers getting a touch time at school. Not from me I hasten to add!

I'm a marketing manager of a magazine. Aren't we a mixed bunch Smile

I teach at an all-girls' school - so I have a reasonably captive audience! I think it is nice for them to see a young (even though at 32 they probably think I'm ancient) role model! Need to encourage more girls to take up Physics - I did it, they can too! But the 60-70 hour weeks aren't very sustainable! Would probably need to get an engineering degree, as theoretical physics is not terribly practical! I guess fear of the unknown plus a decent maternity package is keeping me where I am!!!

25% success rate looking at that list! Isn't that roughly what your odds are each month if you time things correctly?! Let's keep the BFPs going! xx

Maternity Leave is a great time to reevaluate where you want to be career wise. I used mine to re-qualify, re-train and generally do a lot of soul searching. Kind of feel in limbo at the moment now though as I'm so focused on TTC #2. Finding it hard to press on with work when I'm so distracted, and also have in mind another nice long stretch of Maternity Leave!

Another teacher! I absolutely love it and all going well, my maternity leave should bring me up to summer holidays next year so wouldn't be returning until September. No idea how people create work/baby balance! Such interesting jobs though!
Ah Jem the list is lovely, no doubt there will be more joining lower list soon!🎉

Tee I was just thinking that about the success rate. Yea I think it's about a 20-25% chance each month even with perfect timing! So we're on the right track! More to follow!

OH Has tried to dtd tonight but told him no .. Gotta wait till tomorrow now AF has shown again a bit! Told him to go and please himself so his swimmers are nice and fresh for me ...Grin haha he was shocked that they can lose quality or "go off" as he put it.

Men really don't have a clue do they!

Ha ha radders! OH thinks all the ttc has brought out a more dominant side of me! Wink

So this morning I feel a bit low as really think AF is coming.. Temp has dipped to 36.28 which is just below my coverline so think I'm out. Had quite a few twinges in my right ovary so think something is on its way. Will keep u posted.

Morning all. Bored of this boring bit now. I'm ready for FW or TWW! This waiting bit is annoying.

footprints think this is why I don't temp - it's enough heartache for me getting my period without seeing temps go up and down. I get why others do it though, and hope your dip is down to something else.

FF has been playing with my graph again and this time moved my ovulation date two days earlier. Test date now first of May (was sneakily going to test then anyway).

I'm a doctor but I specialize in old people so I know nothing about pregnancy or babies apart from what I learnt in medical school.

I'm going away this weekend so I will get to test when I get back. I will have drink on the Saturday night but won't go mad.

That list is great and is lovely to see the grads.

morning everyone, I love looking at this thread the support is so great! Love the list - helps to keep track!

Another teacher here! Seems like there are a few of us.

Told DH last night and he was brilliant at being excited but keeping me calm as it is such earlier days and I could have caught a chemical. Did another test this morning and was a BFP but it was much the same as yesterday - was so hoping it would be a lot stronger. parney how are your tests looking now? No sign of AF as normal it would arrive this morning so hoping that is a good sign. Still not really sure what to think, more waiting I guess.....

radder you asked what we did, my cycle seemed to be 28 days so I went with thinking I would ov around CD14 so we DTD CD 8, 11, 12, 14, 16 but I'm not sure when I ovulated as wasn't tracking with anything.

footprints remember you are not out till you are out - fingers crossed for you . All I have at the moment is what I would normally think are AF pains so you could have that too.

Morning ladies,
Footprints - sorry to hear about the temp drop, can be very disheartening, it's why I stopped tracking in LP phase as it seemed cruel on myself to dash hopes before my eyes are barely open of a morning! Remember 1 off drops aren't really significant on their own, I think you'll have a better idea when you temp tomorrow if you drop further below coverline. How long are your cycles usually?
Jem I'm totally with you! My FW officially starts next week, but I've decided to move the goalposts and treat this week like FW too; 1. Think we were holding back too much in earlier cycles (I thought we were saving up the good stuff, but sounds like maybe they were just going stale!!) 2. Have a feeling I could ov early as my AF was really early and only lasted 3 days. Think I'll try eod this week and more like everyday next week continuing until well after ov. Hoping DH cooperates and doesn't lose interest by the time ov happens! I've already started opks in case my suspicions are correct!
Nimi FF sounds confusing, just shows why it's always best to fully cover your cycle with DTD, as you never can really say 100% when you ov'd. I've always been certain I ov CD13 due to opk and temps, but I'm going to stop relying 100% on that, just in case I've been misled! Lovely to have a Doctor aboard!!
Toast welcome!! We're a day apart on CDs. Good luck with the smep, will you follow a precise plan, or just go for it as much as poss??
January no AF and still BFP sounds pretty conclusive to me!! The waiting in the early days is agonising though, almost worse than when you're TTC. Try your best to relax and look after yourself and that bean xx

Hey everyone,

Nothing much to report here I'm afraid. Just waiting for a sign!

Thanks footprints for the diet info. I have recently switched to decaf but apart from that I wouldn't really need to change much. I would eat a healthy diet anyway - my degree is in nutrition Smile

I'm self employed. I retail Health and beauty products and coach others. It's handy as I am at home with the kids and work around them.

I have a feeling AF will show her witchy head eventually. If she doesn't and I'm not PG I'm going to visit GP.

Tee- I think if you get LH surge say on cd14 (example) u will prob b ok to do it that day and next before ov happens. When I had my last ds I tried to work out when he was conceived and I worked out was day or two after my LH surge. Think I had surge cd14 but scan showed around cd 19.
Are u taking magnesium and calcium tabs. Read they are are good for pinks!

I'm taking so many things.. It takes almost 5 mins to get all the tablets out and drink them all down!

Got a headache today which is also AF sign. Can't wait to see the gyne on thurs now to hopefully make sense of what is happening with strange cycle. It could b my body trying to AF as from my first ov it would make it right. 28 day cycle. Cycles were from Jan 28,28,43.. So I really am just waiting to see what is going on. I use to be always 28 days pre pill days!! At least I'm in no hurry to test with AF symptoms. Nipples don't hurt or anything..I feel ok just tired headache and few twinges in right side. Cramps not that bad today.
