Back to SQUARE ONE CD1! Anyone want to spend April with me?!

So AF got me this afternoon!! Trying not to get down in the dumps (although I just watched 'one born every minute' on catch-up and sobbed!)
Dusting myself off and hoping for better luck in April! A few stats:
Age-33
TTC-5th cycle
DC-1 DS (3.5 years old)
Anyone else at the start of their cycle and trying something new in the hope of a more successful month?!

Hi racja, I know it's difficult to stay calm isn't it.
What cd and cycle are you??

Thank you raddersmrs. According to my menstrual calendar I am on day 36(?) but my periods are never reguar and I worry that being on various methods of contraception for basically 16 years solid is affecting my fertility but I'm not sure. We have been trying since January and I know it's not long but we tried to conceive a few years ago and had no success then either. I feel like I'm doing everything I can and it feels as though all of my friends got pregnant straight away, I know it's different for everyone but when you want something so much it's hard when AF appears every month!

I know it's difficult but try and stay as calm as possible because stress can sometimes mess with ovulation and AF.

Are you using opks??

Racja14 · 07/04/2016 12:12

I haven't been but I think I'm getting pretty good at gauging when I'm ovulating from CM etc but I might give them a try. I suffer with an anxiety disorder anyway so I'm a natural worrier, I just feel like my child-bearing time is running out by the day!

Report
raddersmrs · 07/04/2016 12:34

You're still only 32 so they're definitely not over at all!
Maybe try opks just in case. I got a bag of 50 for about £4.50 so they're not expensive

Yes think the key is to stay relaxed. I worry about things all the time. My first pregnancy took over a year, gave up after so long. went away for weekend drinking with friends and OH and bingo I fell pregnant. Didn't have a clue where I was in cycle. My second pregnancy happened straight away almost after I stopped B/feeding.

Really do think you can't let it take over your life. Hard to say from a woman who has chart after chart in operation this week, popping tablets, eating so healthily a rabbit would be impressed! I even say a prayer every night :)

Still no AF!! Still feels imminent... Still planning to test CD 37 on Saturday...

What is wheat grass meant to do??

My cat has gone missing so I'm pretty upset. PMS symptoms have weirdly subsided otherwise I'd be bawling my eyes out!!!

Footprints1 · 07/04/2016 19:37

Physickate, how many dpo are you? Are u having any symptoms?
Wheatgrass is supposed to help fertility and lower fsh levels if they are a bit high. It provides also good vitamins - iron & folic acid. Depends what you think u might be lacking in. My levels of fsh are high so was recommended it by the doctor.

RaddersMrs - read that the temp is more accurate in morning before getting up. I keep forgetting too so already my chart a bit up and down!

Feel like I'm rattling with all these tablets Hmm

Currently 12 dpo according to chart, but It doesn't match up with CM... which was earlier. Either way, I only made it to 8dpo before AF got me last month! CD35, that's for sure (longest cycle ever was 5ish months ago - 37 days). Oh I just wish my cycles stopped being so unpredictable all of a sudden!!! I ordered some FRER which should be here by Saturday, not that I would need the early bit!

But we did not DTD within a week either side of when I supposedly Ov'd. So really, this cycle is just a bit of a dud. Haven't officially started TTC, but would irregular cycles at this stage be worth a visit to the GP? I'm 31 and cycles only became irregular when copper (non-hormonal) coil was removed in November....

Will start doing OPKs next month to help pinpoint as well as BBT...

Argh frustration!

Physickate - you know you said it doesn't match up with CM - what do you mean?? How does it not? Sorry if that's a silly question!

I feel for you having such long cycles and not knowing when or if AF will show. I'm lucky in sense that I came off pill and first AF was 28 days and my last one was 26. So not too irregular at moment. Hoping for 28 this month though so have a longer lp.

Not sure if the doctors will do anything yet as I think they say it can take a year

Report
physicskate · 07/04/2016 20:57

Doesn't match up with CM, cause all the egg white and watery stuff was way back on days 18 and 19, though it looks like I did have some watery on CD 23 which was when FF says I ov'd. hmmm. Guess I should just wait another days or two...

Racja14 · 07/04/2016 21:17

I'll order some OPK's tomorrow, every little helps I guess! Gonna try and be more chilled this month and try not to think about it, doesn't help when ppl at work say things like 'you not popped any sprogs out yet, it's about time' feel like saying what on earth has it got to do with you ha ha

How is everyone getting on? April is going so slowly! I forgot to start OPKs on CD 10 and did my first one yesterday CD 11 at about 4pm. It was so faint I could only just make out the test line. Today I did another one at the same time hoping it would darken and I'm so confused as it seems to be almost positive. I did another one with same sample and its darkening as well. Is it 'normal' to go from faint to almost positive so quickly? I thought it would be gradual!

Sorry I can't advise parney I have never used OPK's but I know someone else will know Smile

I'm ok. I did another FRER today now 10/11 days PO.

physicskate · 08/04/2016 18:05

IC negative. Not surprised.

Sorry Parney - I don't know about Ov sticks either.

Tee4me · 08/04/2016 18:58

Parney this is totally normal. I've had negatives morning of CD12 then a positive by the evening!! Not everyone even gets a faint line before, let alone a gradual build up, so the fact you got a faint line CD11 would definitely show your body was going into LH surge. I imagine you will ovulate tomorrow, Sunday or Monday latest... I would DTD every evening from tonight until at least Monday if I were you?! Weekends are a great time to ovulate, as you may be able to sneek in some morning action too! Good luck!!

Thanks Tee, so helpful as usual! I was thinking the same about the weekend timing 🙈 I sent DH a pic of a 🐓 and the test saying I was hopefully about to lay an egg! Just to casally let him know what kind of weekend is ahead!

Was the FRER any different this time Jod?

Report
Footprints1 · 08/04/2016 19:14

Jod, was your bfp darker this time?

Parny, yes sometimes they go straight to positive without a gradual warning. I used the Clear Blue digital and I didn't get the warning (flashing smiley, I just got the static one). I bet you find that if u did them every urine time like every hour or so in sure you'll see the increase. But that's pretty expensive!

Just keep DTD and I'm sure it will cover all the appropriate time.

Jod1985 · 08/04/2016 19:38

They line is still very faint so I am a little worried.

You're still very early at 10/11 DPO Jod? I've no experience of having any lines before but the fact that it's there means the hormones detected. When would you be expecting AF? A digital might put your mind at ease around then?

Thanks footprints, I'll have to DTD as much as possible! Ovia has melt O day marked as 11 days from now Hmm I think I'll uninstall it. Handy for keeping track of what CD I am but other than that I don't find it reliable at all.

Jod, the line is faintly there so yes is a positive!! Yes agree, I'd have to buy a digital to see it in writing "PREGNANT" just so I can see those words. Yes still early dpo for you so that's probably why.

Have you told your OH? Are u having any symptoms still? Tell us all.. So we know what to look out for if anything..?

Report
Jod1985 · 08/04/2016 22:03

Yes I told my DH. I think I will do a digital on Sunday or Monday.
I felt ok today. Tonight I feel crampy. I'm very tired. TMI but I feel wet down there, my boobs feel bigger and sore at times. The cramping is the same as I had with my other PG's. It's always worrying though.
