So AF got me this afternoon!! Trying not to get down in the dumps (although I just watched 'one born every minute' on catch-up and sobbed!)
Dusting myself off and hoping for better luck in April! A few stats:
Age-33
TTC-5th cycle
DC-1 DS (3.5 years old)
Anyone else at the start of their cycle and trying something new in the hope of a more successful month?!

Thanks Sucha for compiling it all Smile

physicskate · 26/04/2016 20:21

Hahaha sucha - I wish I was psychic! Then I could tell us all when this was actually going to happen... unfortunately, I'm just a physicist...

raddersmrs · 26/04/2016 20:30

I've just sat here and ate nearly a whole box of those lily o briens chocolates. They're so nice!!

All my birthday chocolate has gone now yay x

Footprints1 · 26/04/2016 20:33

That's great suchajem thanks. Nice to see the list of ladies waiting.

I take evening primrose oil capsules and it made me ovulate earlier this month.

I've been reading up on some stuff about conception from a book called- starts with the egg. It's about the science of egg quality etc.. Anyway, I've been noting key points down and thought you all may like to see my notes. You may already know all this but might be helpful.

Before conception- Multivitamin that includes folic acid,
B12 and vit B6 reduce risk of miscarriage and birth defects.

CoQ10- improves egg and embryo quality. (Ubiquinol form) - not suitable if you have type 2 diabetes) 200-300mg

Vit D- good hormone production.
Vit E- improves egg quality (not to use with aspirin)
Vit C-improves fertility

Reduce stress levels by gentle exercise, relaxation techniques.

Acupuncture for stimulating eggs and follicles. Helps with ovulation.

Cut down on carbohydrates which can cause high blood sugar and high insulin levels, these can decrease egg quality.
A Mediterranean diet is recommended with lots of fish.
The more alcohol you drink the less fertile you become.
Avoid caffeine

Foods to eat to boost fertility-
Vitamin packed vegetables- spinach, bell peppers, kale, broccoli, salad and greens.
Lean protein- fish, chicken, lean meat, beans and legumes.
Healthy fats- olive oil, avocado and nuts.
Unrefined carbs- quinoa,wild rice,buckwheat,bran cereal.
Berries
Sweet potato, squash,& carrots

Footprints1 · 26/04/2016 20:36

I may have missed the bit about lily o'brien chocolates in the book but they should be added just got the feel good factor!! Winkthey are yummy I agree!

Footprints1 · 26/04/2016 20:38

I'm only half way through.. So if I read anything more that is of interest ill post part 2 in next day or so. Happy planning! :)

raddersmrs · 26/04/2016 20:45

Thanks footprints really helpful

I take folic acid, omega 3, EPO, iron, vitamin b6, vitamin c and vitamin d daily

Parney · 26/04/2016 20:51

The list is good work Jem! It often feels like there are more than that on the thread as its so friendly and busy. Not bad going when you think of the BFPs so far! Good success rate!

Tee4me · 26/04/2016 21:02

Nice work on the list Jem! I've taken a screen shot too, can't wait for our next BFP!
Thanks for all the info Footprints, always nice to hear of new tips! xx

Thanks Jem - I have taken a screenshot to!
Feeling so positive and excited for this month xx

SuchaJem · 26/04/2016 21:06

physicskate hahaha! I was wondering in fact if you were psychic when I typed your name out Smile

Ohh a physicist though - that sounds like a fascinating job. What kind of physics do you do?

Oooooooooh thanks for all this info footprints Shock I had heard of that book and was intrigued. I eat quite a lot of those fertility foods anyway. The bits I struggle with are alcohol caffeine and stress. How to cut these down??!!

With the supplements do you guys buy and take them individually or get a combo?

I only take folic acid with vit d and epo

SuchaJem · 26/04/2016 21:08
