Hugh enjoys ISW and his love affair with Doreen. He watches out for skittle tits and weepyitis. Mrs Arseholey Fucknut (Af) shows up when you least want her but brings wine and soft cheese as a consolation prize.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind and well meaning but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly don't convince yourself you're pregnant in the tww That is paramount!

We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts. We want a fanny full of determined Doreen, not unicorn farts and gnome tears with extra sparkle. We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area.

Post your stats and add your dates. We have a register thanks to kats stats I am resident piss stick queen and if you don't test, you get a Starky's Star

When you post stats, add your predicted test/af date. We are currently running at about 49% pregnant with the grads thread over in ante-natal which we all hope to join soon.

WE SHALL WIN IN THE GAME OF SPERM MEETS EGG! IT WILL HAPPEN!

I've started my own thread about very low AMH 😭 But I'd love to know what supplements you take kwick 😊

Mooseville · 01/04/2016 06:30

Still full of period pains here but no sign of AF.... (Even though last night I'd dreamed it was here!) Crumbled this morning and did a FRER (mainly because if I'm not I want wine tonight ha ha) big fat BFN. Expecting AF to rock up now I've just wasted that money peeing on an expensive stick for no reason!
I'm still one day late though so I'm clutching onto my starkys star!!!! Star lol

pug I'm with you on food consumption. I'm at my heaviest yet still cannot get back on it. My meals are mainly healthy, I'm just supplementing with chocolate non stop!!

HepKestrel · 01/04/2016 06:50

Cd18.... Positive ov. Test.

And OH is sick on antibiotics. Can I get my bus ticket now?

Mooseville · 01/04/2016 06:55

Aargh hep Why do they do it to us?????
Is it not too much to ask to be healthy and horny on a few days a month and we'll sort the rest!!!!! It's not a big ask!!!!!

Feefeefs · 01/04/2016 07:36

Moosville sorry about the bfn. I managed to resist this morning but really fancy a glass of vino tonight and supposed to be going out tomorrow night. I'll probably wait till Sunday and then the hpt will be enough to start AF!!

DH noticed this morning that no AF but we are both studiously ignoring it ha ha ha.

I really hope it's your month Kat everything crossed for you.

FXSkip · 01/04/2016 07:50

Morning guys, fx for you kat and feefs I am drooling at the thought of no periods for 9 months right now! We are holding off as don't want December, Jan or Feb but all I am doing is using Ovia to avoid fertile week so if it happens I'll still be delighted. I think I'm trying to subconsciously make my self pregnant by pretending I don't want it, since it seems to happen all the time to people who don't want it but then I get confused by my own double-bluff. Confused anyway I think I'm 5dpo, with the most noxious gas I've ever come across and cramps. But maybe Ovia is wrong and I am ovulating now and I'm really just disgusting when I ovulate (aren't we supposed to be really sexy when we ov???)

Turns out, 4 months in, I'm no more clued up about my body and no more chilled. Wtf?

vixarooni · 01/04/2016 08:19

Get him on it hep!

I feel crap this morning. There's a job I've seen closer to home but if I get it I'll have to stall the baby making and it just makes those feelings of why hasn't it worked yet a lot stronger. I often wonder if this just isn't our time yet!

Enjoy that vino moose but it's still not here yet! I've been drinking a little bit this month, I think that and not taking folic is my way of getting some control!

SuchaJem · 01/04/2016 08:41

pug when I was seeing a personal trainer last year she gave me this craving / treat tip; when you really want to eat something you shouldn't, you write it down on a 'treat list' in your phone. Allocate one day as 'treat day' and if you still want it then, you can have it. It's clever because it's not saying "you can't have this", it's delaying it. And when it comes to treat day, you never want all the things on the list.

When you say day five of high fertility is that getting repeat positive opks? Are you sure they aren't just warming up to a full positive?

starky it's totally crazy when you put it like that. The potential of that cluster of cells is immense :)

moose AF loves a bfn :( really really hope she's a no show - same for you feefs

hep oh no! Can he be persuaded? Just a quickie...?

HepKestrel · 01/04/2016 08:52

reasons why this cycle has been successful for me:

learning more about my cycle (especially ovulation symptoms)
OH is happy to move from "coming off the pill and seeing what happens" to "this is your 2 day warning..." mode
its only taking long because our timing is so crap
slowly getting other aspects of life sorted (less stressful) : job/money/house

Also I think i will test again with OPK strips afterwork today to see if they finally show a positive, but so far i think i prefer clearblue (though clearly bank balance doesn't). Testing at 2pm is not an option for me. It has to be before has to be pre- or post-work. I.e. 6-7am or 7pm.

vix i understand the work issues. I am slowly planning a career change which is making me happier. I have to do some work on the house first that will help me move. I am trying not to plan my life around a baby which may or may not come on a timescale i do not know. Rather, I am using it to motivate me to get my life in order and improve my quality of life. Consequently, improving my quality of life can only help me relax and de-stress and improve my chances of conceiving. I strongly believe that one shouldn't put "life on hold" whilst ttc. Though I appreciate we are all in different circumstances so feel free to disagree with me.

HepKestrel · 01/04/2016 08:56

sucha vix
we'll see but it really depends how the antibiotics work to make him feel better. He has another dentist appointment next week for a more permanent/expensive fix for the bad tooth.

Evergreen17 · 01/04/2016 09:22

Ahhh I am thinking about changing jobs too!!! But it I do I have to pause this for two months and I am already on cycle 5 and next month 35 and OH is 38
This sucks.
I think we are going to be made redundant soon but maybe not so this sucks Sad

Anyhow. I am not tempting this month and it is a lot more relaxing. I am on CD10 and only done the deal once. So I better get some today. Opks dont show anything yet but who knows. I cant do the timed sex anymore so I know it will take me even longer but obviously timing it right didnt work for me anyway!

islandgirl99 · 01/04/2016 09:55

kwick thanks again for the excellent advice, i called the doctor and asked for the hystothingamy that you said and i'm now getting booked in for one. Apparently it could be a 12 week wait for an appointment though, sigh. You're proving to be more supportive & helpful to me than the health service is, so really a huge thank you Flowers Smile Flowers not long till your scan now, you must be so excited.

hep glad to hear you're taking such a positive view of this cycle, your chilled zen-like approach can only be a good thing anyway. Hopefully you can get your oh on the job tonight and take advantage of the positive opk.

feefs moose i have my fingers crossed for both of you that AF stays away

Soooo, question for the group. I know I've heard people mention agnus castus on here before. I just had a look on Amazon and am overwhelmed by the options - so many brands, capsules vs liquid etc etc. Has anyone who's tried this and had success with it got any recommendations on this please? Any advice much appreciated

kavanaughkj · 01/04/2016 10:18

Welp, yesterday was my test day, according to FF, though I was firmly convinced it was wrong and I'd just ovulated late in previous cycles. I couldn't resist though and tested with an internet cheapie yesterday ... big surprise, BFN, though my temps were high and I wasn't feeling AF cramps.

Temps took a massive plunge this morning though and I'm expecting AF to arrive (promptly on schedule) tomorrow. Hopefully FF will learn that yes, my cycle IS 25 days long! At least this time I ov'd at day 12 which gave me a longer luteal phase than the previous month, so I'm happy about that. :) This also means I get to drink at a big party next week and have wine tonight to commiserate.

I'd really been hoping for a Christmas baby though. :( Oh well, roll on next months' attempts! Thankfully DH will actually be present for peak fertility this month (unlike last) if my body sticks to the usual timetable. I just hope this time he's not sick!

InspectorPenguin · 01/04/2016 10:24

Hi Island. I have been using AC for the past few weeks (this one). I ordered it because the only other time I had a break from the pill (over 10 years ago) I didn't have a period for months and I didn't want to have to wait that long again - I'm 35!

I was skeptical, and my OH even more so because he's a doctor and doesn't buy in to any sort of supplements. However, I got my first AF on CD 38 after less than a week of starting AC. Absolutely no idea if it helped but I am going to stick with it until/if I get my BFP.
I am also taking one maca root tablet a day.

Looking forward to seeing the next crop of BFPs come up in this group. I'm on CD8 today and just planning on DTD as often as possible, which definitely works for my OH.
I've also just re-started the 5:2 diet to get rid of the bit of weight that's crept on since moving house/Christmas/less gym work. I actually don't think I'd mind having a month or two off TTC to focus on that so it's helping to make me less obsessive about the whole thing Grin.

Starky really looking forward to more blog posts and reading updates about scans etc. Kat I hope your OH's nose was correct!

Evergreen17 · 01/04/2016 10:50

Island I was all for trying the agnus castus and I went and bought some at holland and barrets and then researched some more and the dose I got is like 4mg and people talk about taking like 100mg a day and I got super confused and I dropped it Sad

Evergreen17 · 01/04/2016 10:52

Inspector thank you for the agnus castus link!
My periods are more or less regular (25 to 28 days) but I thought about taking it to lengthen my lutheal phase (11 days) do you think it is a good idea or should I let it be?
I am taking EPO for CM

Mileymoocow · 01/04/2016 10:57

Hi lovelies! Hope you're all doing ok and at it like rabbits. You're all still in my thoughts, just doing a lot more lurking and less posting.

Always thought it was agnus cactus Blush

InspectorPenguin · 01/04/2016 11:06

Hm, I'm no expert Ever but while AC has been linked to supporting the luteal phase I don't think yours is too short, is it? I think you said you were 11 days and it only seems to be under 10 that's cited as a potential problem (note: potential! Plenty of people fall pregnant easily with luteal phases shorter than 10 days!)

Still, I don't think it could do any harm. If it helps to put your mind at ease and reduce any worries that you have then that in itself could be a worthwhile benefit.

Mooseville · 01/04/2016 11:17

feefs I'm not sure how you're managing to hold out! Pee on a stick would you!!!! Ha ha

I'm now feeling guilty at wanting to drink wine with no AF! This TTC is a bloody minefield! If I was upduffed it would be a minor miracle of biblical proportions so I'm thinking a small glass won't hurt!

miley I too thought it was cactus!!! How are you feeling?

island I loved the 5:2 diet. Not sure why I let it slip but I did.... I lost a steady lb a week and could still enjoy bad food and drink when I felt like it! Why am I not still in it????? Lol

InspectorPenguin · 01/04/2016 11:26

Moose I think 5:2 would be really hard to keep up over Christmas and during the cold, dark winter months where wine and nice food tends to keep us occupied.

I don't think I could have contemplated it then but now it's lighter, sunnier and warmer it feels infinitely more do-able. Summer seems much closer and it's easier to get outside and be active, but still a bit too cold to get sucked into afternoon drinking sessions in beer gardens and barbeques!

Snowdog37 · 01/04/2016 11:33

Shocks worn off a bit just in time for af to arrive 😫😝😭. Yesterday I found out I have diminished ovarian reserve with an AMH of only 0.22 so it's a tough road ahead. Ivf isn't covered on our health insurance but 3 medical iui's are so my dr has put me on uber amounts of q10 and vitamin d to see if that helps increase my antral follicle count over the next cycles. This flipping ttc business is going to send me over the edge. I'm gutted. There's not much can be done without Ivf so we might be clogging a dead horse but we are going to do whatever we can get done on insurance and take it from there.

Mileymoocow · 01/04/2016 11:48

moose I think it must have been people's predictive text changing it to cactus so that's what I thought it was! After 7 weeks of Hyperemesis it's finally starting to settle down and I can go back to work on Monday never thought I'd be excited about that had a bleed on Wednesday night so went in for a scan his morning and all is well.

I tried the 5:2 diet but I'm a pig and couldn't cope with just 500 cals a day Blush if anyone is wanting to lose weight I suggest the 'bodybuilders diet'. Eating about 200-250 calories 7 times a day with a healthy balance of 40% carbs, 40% protein and 20% fat. I started weight training and following this and lost over 2 stone and had great muscle tone I sound like one of those diet pushers

Mooseville · 01/04/2016 11:48

Oh snow I won't pretend to understand all the technical phrases but I see it's not good news.
We'll have everything crossed for things working out for you under the insurance. TTC officially sucks.

Mooseville · 01/04/2016 11:51

miley That sounds way too complex for me to follow! I'm not sure I could be that prepared. Plus I'm out and about with work a lot, often st very little notice, not sure I'd be able to follow it correctly! 5:2 was easier to follow as I just didn't eat anything until teatime!

InspectorPenguin · 01/04/2016 12:00

Snow I'm really sorry to hear that, I hope you're not too upset. I guess the good thing about being in the US is that things will move much more quickly than they would in the UK (probably).

Hope this doesn't take too much of the excitement out of your move for you. It sounds like your doctor has a good plan and at least now you have a path to follow - the unknown can be worse I think...

Best of luck Flowers
