Hi MNers,
I'm new on here and myself and OH are in early stages of trying for a baby.
He has two children from a previous relationship, I have none.
I had my coil removed last week (a week today) and I've had a variety of answers when I've asked how long it generally takes for my cycle to come back. I have ovulation sticks but as expected only a week in nothing as of yet. Can anyone share their experiences with me please?
Thanks xx
Grin

So frustrating isn't it. I may do a cheeky test in the morning....I bought a pack of 20 from Amazon a couple of weeks ago, won't do any harm to just check, right??

Jod1985 · 05/04/2016 08:20

Did you do a cheeky one? No spotting or cramps this morning

Mammabear31 · 05/04/2016 10:42

Yes - negative, of course! I think I must be ovulating as pelvic pain/sore boobs are symptoms of that apparently. So that means 2 weeks til next test!

Jod1985 · 08/04/2016 07:55

I tested two days ago and got a very very faint line. Tested today and got a very faint line! Haven't had my period yet!!

Jod1985 · 08/04/2016 12:43

I'm trying not to believe it until the line gets Stronger! Keep thinking my eyes are playing tricks on me!

Mammabear31 · 08/04/2016 15:43

Have you got some more tests? I'd be doing a digital in the morning if I were you Wink

Mammabear31 · 08/04/2016 15:44

Still 9 days to go til I can test!

JC23 · 08/04/2016 15:45

Hi! I had my mirena removed on the 30th January last year. It took a month for me to ovulate and conceive. Had a positive pregnancy test by mid March. Hth

Mammabear31 · 09/04/2016 15:36

Hey Jod, have you done any more tests? X

Mammabear31 · 10/04/2016 15:38

Have been feeling so ill since Friday. Shivering, sweats, dizziness. Such a sore throat I can barely swallow. Went to GP who has diagnosed a throat infection and gave me penicillin (which is safe to take if pregnant - they checked!) the drugs don't seem to be doing much and I am still sat on the sofa with 4 layers and a duvet, shivering....so fed up of feeling ill!! I seriously doubt I will have a BFP this month with all this crap going on.

Jod1985 · 10/04/2016 15:45

Hi mammabear yes I have tested but the line isn't any stronger. I don't know what is going on I'm in POAS hell!!
I can definitely see lines but maybe they are evaporation or maybe chemical PG - still no sign of AF still have symptoms like cramping, tiredness, weeing etc
Sorry to hear you feel so sick 😫 lots of TLC from hubby!
Here's the IC I took today....

Hey Jod! Finally feeling human again today, thank god for antibiotics!!

How are you getting on with your TTC? Have your lines been getting darker? They look like they're heading the right way!

Am now 4 days til AF is due. Negative test this morning but was only 10mul, have ordered some 25mul which should be delivered today so fingers crossed, although I would say I will be surprised if I am considering how I'll I've been - will be lucky if anything sticks!

Jod1985 · 13/04/2016 12:47

Hey mammabear, well yesterday I did another test & it was negative. Well there was a cruel indent line Sad I'm expecting to start to bleed soon. Back is so sore and my boobs are still sore.

Lucy1308 · 14/04/2016 11:07

Hi all- newbie here!!

Me and OH are wanting to start a family and I'm in the process of speaking to doctors about removing my coil. When you guys had yours out did you have to meet with a doctor and then organise an appointment to have it removed? Or did they do it on the first? Also how awful is it to remove? I didn't struggle with it going in too much but I probably wouldn't enjoy repeating the experience!!!

Last one for now- how long would you expect it to take to start cycling normal after the coil being removed?

Anxious to start a family but aware that I probably ought not to worry so much haha!!

Jod1985 · 14/04/2016 11:38

Hi lucy, I booked an appointment in the fertility clinic that I got it out in to get it removed some can't advised About the GP. Is your GP a male? If he is he might need to have a female in the room at the time? I know when I have a smear the receptionist has to stand behind a screen.
It was totally painless getting it removed. I didn't bleed afterwards either but I have had cramping but that could be down to many things.
I got mine removed on 23rd March and I haven't yet had a period so I'm not sure if that's because I am pregnant (would be early days an I have had some faint positive tests) or because it's just taking its time to show. You don't have to have a period to ovulate though Wink

Lucy1308 · 14/04/2016 12:07

They asked if I wanted a "chaperone" at my smear but think that's just procedure now- my nurse was female and brilliant so hopefully I will get someone similar this time! Appointment booked for the nurse so I'm sure she will help me out haha!

Thanks RE advice about cycling- hope you get your strong positive!! Fingers crossed I fall pregnant quickly so I won't have time to stress about it!!

Mammabear31 · 14/04/2016 12:57

I had mine out at my GP surgery and I just had to book an appointment with the Dr that could do it. It was a double appointment too but that was it - no pre-appointment or anything.

I had spotting for 2 weeks post removal and apparently due AF on Sunday but haven't had a period for over 2 years so it could be any time.

AbbyH · 14/04/2016 19:41

Hi ladies :)
Been a very long time since I have been on here sill getting use to all the mummies slang 🙈

I've been on the coil for exactly 3 years this month....
My other half and I have decided it's time for baby number 2 😁 Very very excited!!!
I am booked in to have my coil out on Thursday next week (21st April)
I am prepared to be in a lot of pain as I had 3 coil checks in the last couple years and have had 3 doctors try to feel for my threads with no luck, going to see the doctor that put it in the coil expert haha apparently if anyone can get it out then she can...just to add to my dread, I am having my smear at the same time 😫

I have read through some comments on here but got a few questions for those who have had theirs removed.....
Does anyone know roughly how long others have conceived after having the coil removed? I am very very eager to start ttc as I'm sure with many of us....I want it to happen straight away!!! :) :) :) xx

Jod1985 · 14/04/2016 20:18

Hi Abbey, good luck getting yours removed. I had mine for 3 years too and had it removed on 23rd March. I went privately to get it removed, I never felt my strings the whole time I had it in but removal was a none event - didn't hurt at all. I haven't bled yet at all. I am TTC no. 3. Some people fall straight away and it takes others a while from what I have read. It is very individual.

Mammabear31 · 15/04/2016 08:42

Hi Abby. Good luck with your removal, it's really not that bad - my Dr couldn't find mine at first but she used a "long" speculum and then there it was; out in seconds :)

I'm not sure what's happening with me this month, 2 days til AF due and getting strong negatives. However am also experience EXTREMELY sore boobs, fatigue and mild cramping. Who knows what's occurring!! I also think I've gotten totally confused with regard to the whole pg test sensitivity - I thought the higher the u/ml, the better the sensitivity but nope - totally wrong apparently! Will try tomorrow with a 10 u/ml and may get a FR test this afternoon as well.

Any more positives Jod? crosses fingers

Lucy1308 · 15/04/2016 09:14

Just had my nurse appt who was lovely!! Just put a long spec in and whipped it out! Painless! Good luck to those yet to have theirs removed- we are now officially TTC!!! Hope you get your +ve mammabear!!

Mammabear31 · 15/04/2016 12:01

Excellent Lucy, I remember being so nervous and then walking out thinking "was that it?!".

Good luck TTC!

Mammabear31 · 15/04/2016 12:02
