Tweetypie I've been counting since my first withdrawal bleed after coming off the pill. Not sure if that's the right thing to do, over 90 days since I finished my last pack, gulp! Do we just carry on waiting?!

Its good to have somewhere to come and chat and hear what others are up to on the ttc journey 😀

Tweetypie95 · 15/03/2016 15:25

I would love my Af right now! I'm sure that is the only time I will ever say that! ha!

I've got a feeling I'm in it for the long run though. I've not had my first real AF yet so I don't know where you calculate from.

Do you think your pregnant nataliefruit? or just anticipating your first AF?

I don't know why I ever worried when i would miss the odd pill. Who knew making a baby was so hard.

Just popping in to say when trying for my DS i went 89 days then 72, 48, 40 and then conceived, so hang in there! I feel your pain though!

I'm back on it again and have gone 66, 33, 38, and currently on day 50 so who knows what's going on!

I guess some of us just take longer to adjust,

Will keep everything crossed for you all!

Hi all,

I came off the pill in December and have since had 37 and 31 day cycles. I felt AWFUL for the first two months- cramps, migraines, mood swings and generally feeling 'rough'. I also had brown spotting right before my periods for a full week. I ended up doing a lot of research and found that all my symptoms were probably due to imbalanced hormones.

Since then I made a lot of changes to my diet and supplements and I'm sure it's made a massive difference. I had lots more ewcm this month, a strong positive ovulation test (on cd12 -so a much more regular time of the month putting me on track for a 28 day cycle at last) migraines and unwell feelings have disappeared and I feel generally 'happier'. Oh, and no brown spotting at all so far (cd24)

Incase anyone is interested, these are the changes I made

  • drinking loads more water
  • quit caffiene
-increased my carbs and protein as I realised I wasn't getting enough -took vitamin e supplement, 'trying to conceive supplement' and magnesium (natural calm) each day

These things seem to definitely have helped my cycles but if nothing else I'm feeling great. Good luck all

nataliefruit · 17/03/2016 07:51

Update = no sign of AF at all. Kind of nerve wracking possibly starting AF at any point - I've taken to making sure I have a couple of tampons in my bag at all times just in case! How's everyone else doing?

nataliefruit · 17/03/2016 07:54

Sorry Tweetypie, I forgot to say that I'm just expecting AF not pregnant as we've been using condoms until after our holiday to give my cycle some time to get back to normal.

CatMum87 · 17/03/2016 11:12

Thanks mummy2squish reasuring to know that there might be light at the end of the tunnel- will hold on in there and wait for af to turn up! After having spent all these years dreading the monthly ritual, I would love it right now!

That's very interesting twinklelittlestar thanks for sharing. Defintely going to have a look more closely at diet etc. I havent really had many symptoms since stopping the pill tbh, and do eat quite a healthy diet and exercise a fair bit but perhaps looking at some supplements cant do any harm! And I definitely need to drink more water! Caffeine though- thats dedication!

Anyone else made any/thinking of making any changes or taking supplements?

Tweetypie95 · 17/03/2016 15:14

Oh good Catmum, me too! Yeah it really is, before this I felt so alone! Glad I have people to talk to now! I really thought today was the day as i had a few pains just like AF but then quickly went away with nothing! Wahhhhh!

Thank you Mummy2squish for sharing! Giving hope to those still waiting!

Twinklelittlestar - Things seem to be looking good for you then! Thanks for the advice! Where is it you get your supplements!

I have been having a look into supplements, just don’t know where to start!! Any advice?

Twinklelittlestar1 · 17/03/2016 16:47

Hey Tweety, I did a bit of reading around things to help hormonal balance. I think the magnesium has definitely helped. I got 'natural calm, superior magnesium powder' off amazon and drink that every day in a pint of water. It's good because it also makes me drink more but I'm pretty sure that taking magnesium has been one of the most beneficial things I've done.

I also take 'trying for a baby' which ensures you get enough zinc and b vitamins (apparently good for balancing hormones)

I also read about using seeds to balance your hormones and have started taking 1tbsp of sesame seeds a day as they apparently block excess estrogens.

Belleoftheball14 · 17/03/2016 16:51

Hi everyone,

Can I join? I'm new and relaxed TTCing #1 this year.
Came off the pill (Jasmin) early Feb, had usual withdrawal bleed and been waiting for AF since (CD38 today).

Would be nice to share experiences during the wait!

Had some slight cramping last weekend but it just turned into a bad cold this week Sad
Hopefully it hasn't offset hormones...

Second tweetypie's question about supplements Smile

Tweetypie95 · 18/03/2016 13:08

Thank you Twinklelittlestar I will defo be looking into them!

Hi Belleoftheball how long were you on the pill for?

Had such a vivid dream I took a pregnancy test and it was positive! I was so happy! haha was rediculously realistic I woke up and thought it was real!! Argh.

CD59 Still no AF.

OP posts:
Belleoftheball14 · 18/03/2016 21:19

Was on the pill for 11 years! Always had irregular periods before so nervous to see if they've regulated Hmm

Thanks for sharing Twinklelittlestar, that's great it's got you drinking more water.

CD39 and still no AF. So impatient to start tracking...something!

Pads in the handbag on the ready and checking every time I go the toilet!

Any signs of symptoms anyone?

CatMum87 · 20/03/2016 20:54

Hey, hope everyones had a good weekend! Met my little nephew yesterday after not having sen him in a while.....too cute!!

tweetypie , aw i feel for you, damn you dream! But could it be a sign?!

belloftheball I'm with you on the tracking, be interesting to start....eventually!!

So Ive started taking pregnacare, looks like it has a good mix of supplements, cant do any harm eh!

Day 93, arghhhhh!!!

Mummy2squish · 20/03/2016 21:55

Well my body is playing tricks, started spotting yesterday and got a positive opk this morning. Stopping has stopped!! Day 53 for me.

Eeek day 93 I got to 82 when TTC DS so I really feel your pain. Are you tracking your temps or just going with it?

Tweetypie95 · 21/03/2016 14:36

I thought it could have been a sign but I've not really had any symptoms alerting me to back up that theory as of yet. Maybe a sign of something to come soon! Have been getting cramps and aches yesterday and today, on and off so whoo knows, maybe AF is coming soon!

How old is your nephew Catmum ? I've got one at 3 months and he is gorgeous! So chilled! He looks like i did when i was a baby! It's like looking into the future! haha!

Oh no mummy2squish thats just taunting you! How mean! hope things become much more clear for you!!

I'm going with the flow at the moment ... I want to see what my cycle is like and then i think i might try temping, maybe after the first or second AF! Thats if it ever comes! Arrrrgh!

OP posts:
CatMum87 · 22/03/2016 17:38

Nephew is 7 months, always smiling and loves bouncing up & down! Aw cute that he looks like you- does make you wonder what your own might look like doesnt it, although perhaps I'm jumping way ahead there!

I've not relly been tracking anything, didnt really have any plan when I stopped the pill, just see what happens. Must admit ive now become a lot more aware thats its not just as easy at dtd- much like you get taught at school!

Anyone had any developments?!

Cooincidently, i have a womens health screening on thursday which i booked a while back through work- be interesting to see how healthy etc I am!

Belleoftheball14 · 22/03/2016 18:40

Still no developments. Sometimes think I'm cramping slightly but not sure if it's in my head!

Ordered folic acid, iron and calcium supplements, which is exciting!

Same as Tweetypie, planning to start temping after a couple of cycles.

Mummy2squish did the spotting stop all together?

Mummy2squish · 22/03/2016 19:47

Yep stopped completely! No sign whatsoever!

Got a REAAALLLY positive opk yesterday so dtd to be on the safe side!!

Hope everyone is well!!

CatMum87 · 24/03/2016 14:21

Ooh mummy2squish thats a good sign! Do you find opk's useful?

Belleoftheball- hope the supplements help, youll have to let us know how you get on and if you think they are helping.

I had a health test today, good to know i am pretty fit and healthy! Only issue was she thought my thyroid gland was a bit swollen, which might be a sign of hormone imbalance hence no periods, or could just be normal. In any case if af hasnt shown up in a couple weeks, to get it checked out at the gp....eeek!!

Mummy2squish · 24/03/2016 19:34

cat i found them useful last time but this time round in finding them stressful!

I have a history of thyroid problems (not that my doc is taking that into account with my weird cycles!) all perfectly manageable though!

MegGriffin1 · 24/03/2016 22:59

Hi I've been diagnosed with pco awaiting blood tests. I've heard it's a common condition and my GP says it may not be a correct diagnosis yet

Belleoftheball14 · 27/03/2016 12:12

Hi all,

I started spotting today - eek! CD 48. Thought could share my excitement with you rather than weirding out DH! Haven't felt a thing before it came though so not sure if it'll turn into an AF or if it will stop like you Mummy2squish

Don't worry Meg, there are loads of stories about people conceiving with PCOS. Hope the tests go alright though.

CatMum87 · 27/03/2016 19:49

Yay Belle thats great news if your first af has shown! Bet its a relief!

I still find it funny willing af's to come, when we've spent so many years avoiding it!!

Off to eat more chocolate, happy easter all!! X

Belleoftheball14 · 27/03/2016 22:36

I know, it used to be just an inconvenience but so excited it's turned into a light flow this evening Smile

Enjoy the chocolate Catmum!

Mummy2squish · 27/03/2016 22:39

belle I'm keeping everything crossed that it doesn't stupidly stop like mine does (in a weird way earl though AF is still disappointing!)
