Sorry yes meant to say thanks for the reassurance Boris. It helps to know that this is normal to have cramps even if it doesn't result in a bfp for me.

I had cramping and felt really really periody

Turns out it wasn't AF and was implantation!

lucieloos · 22/03/2016 17:25

Thanks banana, do you know how long that lasted for?

OP posts:
bananafish81 · 22/03/2016 18:36

Erm a few days? DH said he remembered me mentioning it on the Thursday which would have been 5dp5dt

I tested on 8dp5dt, can't remember when it went on from or to but DH said he had a feeling it had worked when I said I was feeling crampy - he's normally a totally rational non woowoo type person but he said he 'just had a feeling'

Told him if he was so bloody mystic what are the winning lottery numbers then?!

I didn't have spotting but certain lots of people do have implantation spotting - it is a definite thing!

loopylou1984 · 22/03/2016 18:42

I hate baby showers Sad
Meant to be going to my cousins next month.

Today was better, tomorrow will be worse as I have to do the clinic test, then phone them to let them know I'm not pregnant. Xx

lucieloos · 22/03/2016 18:55

Thanks banana that's really interesting and would be the same time as me. Arghhh I really don't want to get my hopes up about this though as it's probably something of nothing and I'm sure women experience spotting and cramps and don't go on to get a bfn.

Sammy, glad work was a bit better today. Sorry that's it's test day tomorrow it's hard making that call but you have more plans in place and you will get there. Is there any way you could not go to the baby shower? I can't imagine that will be easy.

  • I mean don't go on to get a bfp!

When are you planning to test again Lucie?

Flowers for tomorrow Sammy. Hopefully you'll be able to get your follow up booked in nice and soon.

lucieloos · 22/03/2016 20:17

I don't know Trixie. I'm too scared now. I was convinced from the beginning that this cycle wouldn't work and now I've been given a slight glimmer of hope but I know deep down its probably nothing but it's hard to do the test again and see the bfn. Will see how long I can hold out.

OP posts:
JustTrixie · 22/03/2016 21:35

At least it's good Friday this week so if you don't want to test on a work day you only have to wait until Friday rather than Saturday (if you can hold out until then!). I know what you mean though, I am terrified of testing and I've not even started my cycle yet.

BorisIsBack · 22/03/2016 21:52

Sammy hope you are ok Flowers

stealthbanana · 22/03/2016 22:37

Sammy Flowers

Lucie Flowers for you too

MPP81 · 22/03/2016 23:23

Hope you're OK Sammy Flowers

Fx for you Lucie. Can understand you not wanting to see a bfn. Is it 3 days after suspected implantation they tell you to test? Perhaps give it another day or two before you do?

Shellster52 · 23/03/2016 00:33

Lucie, I really hope the fact that you had some slight bleeding but then no period the next day is a good sign. In fact, it seems logical that it was in fact implantation rather than a period if nothing further followed. But I totally get being too scared to test. Personally, on my second last cycle that resulted in a m/c, I had cramping at 9 days past EC and for my last successful cycle, I had it at 8 days after EC.

Sammy, I avoided a baby shower too while I was going through my IVF cycles. I am a casual at work so no set days and could make up the excuse that I had to work. I couldn't avoid my sisters but tried to come up with a plan like going to the loo and doing breathing for 5 minutes if things got too much to get me through.

banana, you are amazing to be on here supporting others after what you've just been through.

loopylou1984 · 23/03/2016 06:41

Thanks girls, I'm ok. Just done my waste of time OTD POAS. Unsurprisingly it's still bfn. Will call the clinic later and fx they'll let me book a review, even if they do want me to re test in a couple of days.
It'll be the answerphone when I call which is fine, but a nurse will call back at inevitably make me cry at work again. Xx

loopylou1984 · 23/03/2016 06:41

Lucie - keeping everything crossed for you! Xx

BorisIsBack · 23/03/2016 06:54

Sammy sorry you have to do these things. Feels cruel. I hope you can book the review.

Lucie - hope you are ok today and AF stays away. X

stealthbanana · 23/03/2016 06:55

Flowers Sammy. So unfair. Go and have a cry in the loo at work if you need. Big hugs xx

lucieloos · 23/03/2016 07:17

Sammy so sorry I know you were expecting it but doesn't make it any easier Thanks

Boris, I'm feeling ok now thanks. I'm still getting some cramps now and again but not as bad and I don't really feel like I'm going to spot anymore for some reason. Will see how it goes today.

Shell, thanks for the info about your cramping it's reassuring to know that you had it on both occasions where you got a bfp but so sorry about the first miscarriage.

Right off to work I go. Have a good day all.

So much love and hugs sammy

Thinking of you. I also prescribe medicinal Chocolate

I've been dosing myself up to insulin shock levels and am probably at pre diabetes levels

It fucking sucks xxx

bananafish81 · 23/03/2016 07:29

In other depressing news, I sadly did not have a BFN

A sentence I never thought I'd write

Did a cheapie HPT to see if my hCG levels were dropping at all

Apparently not enough. Blazing positive line came up in seconds

Urgh.

Never thought I'd be hoping for a BFN and dreading seeing a second line

But apparently despite my dead baby having been scraped out of my womb, my body still thinks it's pregnant.

Sad
loopylou1984 · 23/03/2016 07:36

Thank you everyone. I'm ok, glad I tested early so it's not a shock today.

Banana - so sorry lovely, have the doctors said how long it will take for the hcg to go? Those stupid pee sticks never show what we want do they? Xx

loopylou1984 · 23/03/2016 09:30

Spoke to the clinic. They have review today so we'll hear from them within the next three days. At least that parts quick.
If there's any silver lining to a failed cycle then it's getting to stop the pessaries!
The nurse said AF is likely to be heavier and more painful than normal though, so there's a treat for Easter. Xx

lucieloos · 23/03/2016 10:46

Sammy, that's good news that hopefully your review meeting should be soon. At least you will have a chance to go through everything then and can put a proper plan in place for next time. Hope you're doing ok in work today x

OP posts:
lucieloos · 23/03/2016 10:48

Banana, so sorry about the hcg still being in your system. It must be very hard to see. You seem like a very strong person. I hope that it goes soon and you can start looking ahead to trying again when you are ready.
