sammy my lovely all the hugs in the world
Re immunes, there's two schools of thought
Well actually there's three
- 'We don't believe in immunes' - NK cells theory isn't a thing (NHS, mostly)
- We believe immunes is a definite thing and we recommend running a battery of very expensive tests that go to the Rosalind Franklin University lab in Chicago (level 2 immunes tests known as the Chicago tests) and depending on what these tests say we will treat you with a range of medications to suppress your immune system to prevent an overactive immune response - prednisolone, intralipids, clexane, aspirin and Gestone (clinics like Lister, Zita West) and others that will use those plus much more hardcore drugs like Humira and IVIG (ARGC, Dr Gorgy, Mr Shehata)
- We believe immunes is a thing but we don't recommend running all the expensive tests and we will treat empirically for implantation failure or miscarriage with the non scary immunes drugs (lots of clinics like Reprofit, CRGW, the consultant stealth and I are seeing)
My Dr says the tests in his experience aren't terribly helpful as the blood tests don't necessarily give you and indication of what's going on in the uterine environment
So we will almost certainly be treating empirically for immunes next time - ie prednisolone, intralipids, clexane, aspirin and Gestone
There are more basic immunes tests (known as the level 1 tests) which the NHS may run for you. These include thrombophilia tests for clotting disorders, and some basic immunes tests for thyroid and lupus antibodies
I paid for these privately but you MAY be able to get your GP to run them
Certainly your GP should be able to get your thyroid, prolactin and vitamin D checked out
Is any of that helpful or have I just confused matters??!! Xxx
