Boris of course it's ok! I'm so thrilled for you and mini Boris already sounds like a right character Grin It definitely is worth all the pain and pure torture of ttc.

I didn't even think about how hot it would be in Czech and DH has it in his head that DD will be coming with us so that we can have a mini holiday Confused

BorisIsBack · 09/05/2016 18:38

I'm sure the Heat will be worth it. It's a cheap place for a holiday certainly (ivf aside!)

MagpieCursedTea · 11/05/2016 06:32

Boris that's lovely news! A Zen baby! Grin

Waves to everyone, hope you're all having a good week!

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 11/05/2016 07:15

Boris that's wonderful news - I bet you're still pinching yourself that it's really true! It must have been wonderful to see. I also like hearing how you're getting on so please don't stop (also sorry I didn't tell you about the homemade frers earlier - could have saved you a small fortune ;))

Kellz good luck today. I really hope the nurse can help, or at least start the ball rolling because you've really been going through a tough time.

Hello Magpie and Rainy - hope all is well with you?

DizzyM I hope today goes well for your DH. Wow, it really won't take long to come around (hope that doesn't scare you!!) but sounds like you have everything under control. IUI (intrauterine insemination-I also had to check!) is basically adding washed sperm directly to the uterus. I'm doing medicated IUI so take drugs to stimulate the ovaries to produce eggs. Then I'm given another injection to trigger ovulation when the egg is mature. After that the sperm is injected, and fx the sperm meets the egg! Maybe I should take up writing medical journals :) I'll be on a very low dose to start with, and if it looks like more than two eggs will be released then the cycle will be cancelled. Sorry that was longer than I had intended!

BorisIsBack · 11/05/2016 07:21

Gengis I didn't really know that about iui! So it's like ivf but without the test tube? I Was also wondering how they manage the process so you don't risk becoming octo-mum with 13 eggs released. I'm looking forward to yiur next medical update - you explain it well!

Just checking in.

DizzyM crossing everything reprofit is the best fit and your bfp is here before you know it :)

DizzyN what's next from here?

Boris so chuffed to hear your news!

Big hugs to all

Just to let you know that I had a little boy on Monday night after 25 months of trying, we worked out I have spent 6 years ttc, having surgery to try and get pregnant or being pregnant. However I have two little miracle men!

BorisIsBack · 11/05/2016 07:28

Pikz! How wonderful! Hope you are both well. Lots and lots of love to you and your family Flowers

Morning!

pikz congratulations that's wonderful news, I hope he's settling in well! It's always lovely to hear success stories to remind us all not to give up hope!

boris great news about the scan, how is pregnancy going for you otherwise?

kellz your symptoms do sound very promising, keep us posted!

Hope everyone else is well!

I'm cd15 today. Zero signs of ov being on its way so I reckon it'll be another long month for me. The good news is that I saw my GP on Monday and she's finally done my gynae referral. I asked her about giving metformin a try and although she still seems to think it's not suitable for me, she said the gynaecologist will look at that for me. Should take about a month to get my appointment through apparently.

DizzyMerry · 11/05/2016 09:38

pikz that's fantastic, congratulations. Hope you're all doing well Flowers Your story gives me hope!

Ghengis wow! That sounds like a mini IVF and very well explained too! I'm actually very excited for you and can't wait to hear more about it.

Good luck today kellz.

Dizzy hurray for the referral! Not long to wait now.

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 12/05/2016 04:07

Pikz Congratulations - such wonderful news! It's so lovely to read especially after 6 years of TTC.

DizzyN Great that you managed to make your appointment and got a referral! Hooray, and hopefully the appointment comes through quickly. Also fx for imminent ov.

DizzyM and Boris - yeah, there seems a lot more 'involved' in IUI than I had previously thought too. I think the doctor's plan to stop me becoming octomumthesecond (could be a good name change though!) is by putting me on a really low medication dose - I will be starting on 37.5mg of gonal f, and he will monitor/amend the dosage with the follicle maturation rate. If it looks like there will be three or more mature eggs released there will be no insemination, which sounds like a letdown but is understandable I suppose. The only other fact I remember is that he will try and put the sperm as close to the fallopian tube as he can - how kind!

In other news, my thermometer arrived this morning, and I have checked my temperature far too many times today already big kid. Let the charting obsession begin!

MagpieCursedTea · 12/05/2016 05:26

Pikz congratulations! Wonderful news! Enjoy your miracle men Flowers

Genghis welcome to the world of charting obsession, did you decide which charting software you're going to use?

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 12/05/2016 05:49

Wow Magpie - you're up early! I was planning on just using FF, unless you have a better suggestion?

MagpieCursedTea · 12/05/2016 06:54

FF is a good choice, I used it for years and love it.
I do keep waking up early but I'm on holiday and an hour ahead of the U.K. so not quite as early as it seems Grin

BorisIsBack · 12/05/2016 06:58

I got a bbt thermometer to temp but only ever used it to take my temperature at other times

Enjoy your hold magpie.

Genghis, DizzyN and DizzyM

sorry i didnt come on yesterday was feeling sorry for myself.

They didnt do anything or arrange anything.

The nurse went to the dr for advice as she wasnt to sure and he said i need to stop stressing, im young and have conceived before so there will be nothing wrong with me.

The nurse suggested leaving it a few months and go back to see a GP and we will be referred. We have decided to go after our holiday in August and just hope it happens before then

Hope you're all ok xx

DizzyMerry · 12/05/2016 14:00

Ghengis you have entered the crazy world of charting and there's no going back! It's very interesting though to start seeing a pattern though and need to start again next cycle.

Sorry your appointment didn't go too well kellz. They keep rolling out that old chestnut of 'relax' and it will happen. See what your next AF is like and if you're still concerned go back but I'm hoping you get your bfp and don't need to bother.

I got my progesterone results today. The level is 43 which means I have ovulated. I'm so relieved about this as usually I have low prog results. DH rang out local hospital to arrange his SA and the next appointment is in July Shock so he's decided to have these done privately now. Hopefully he should be able to get an appointment for next week.

Kellz92 · 12/05/2016 15:51

DizzyM The nurse was concerned about my AF but dr didnt seem interested, but hopefully we have our bfp before August.

Ive been temping again this cycle but they are all over the shop despite doing it at the same time every day.

Glad you ovulated hun. July? can your GP surgey not do them?

xx

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 13/05/2016 01:52

Enjoy your holiday Magpie - hope you're having a lovely time.

Great news about your prog. results DizzyM - I wish I could get mine done but my doctor doesn't seem to see the point Confused. Good luck for DH's SA - I think private is definitely the right decision (July?!)

Kellz I'm really sorry to read that your appointment didn't go that well. Is there anything more annoying during TTC than 'just relax and wait'? Obviously I really hope you get your BFP before August but if not, at least then the doctor should start taking your concerns more seriously.

Day one of temping was not a success I'm afraid - stupid interrupted sleep. However, I'm already heading towards AF so it's good practice, and I'll be more vigilant next month.

Happy Friday everyone!

DizzyMerry · 13/05/2016 08:21

Magpie hope you have a fab holiday.

Kellz the SA is arranged by the GP but done at the hospital.

Ghengis my GP was reluctant to offer the test as she said it's normal to not ov each month. Whilst I agree with and I think it's a good starting point and can identify problems with ov with repeated tests. The odd anovulatory cycle may be normal but having a few isn't and should be investigated. Typical to have interrupted sleep on day one of temping!

Kellz92 · 13/05/2016 13:32

Genghis FX :)

DizzyM i was mistaken DH had his appt at local hospital not GP lol

xx

Rainy34 · 13/05/2016 19:35

GenghisIm good how are you?, Im on cd 12, don't think iv ov yet, so trying to get dtd in when we can!!

pikz lovely to hear from you again and congratulations on your baby boy!!

DizzyN great you are getting referred and a month wait is great!!

KellyStop stressing!! thats easier said than done, hate when i am given that advice, does make it any easier!!, hopefully your holiday helps you get your bfp!!

Kellz92 · 14/05/2016 23:58

Exactly Rainy I'm on cycle 11 what do they expect but oh well. Hoping to get it before we go away but not holding my breath. Hopefully get it on holiday while I'm relaxed xx
