Morning all! Having an amazing time skiing, there's been 60+ cm of snow in the last day and almost no one out on the slopes so loads of fluffy beautiful powder to ski. Heaven!

Just to update you on my testing - basically it has been an epic failure. Forgot to test yesterday (was half asleep when got up for fmu), then tested this morning however forgot about the test (I know...wandered off to cook some eggs) so left it for an hour. Had a very very faint line when I came back, but I think it is probably an evap. Hard to tell if it was pink or grey but it was definitely a line (DH could see it). So will have to wait for Monday!

peardrop2 · 13/02/2016 10:45

Wow Stealth...maybe another happy announcement! Love is in the air Smile

VillageFete · 13/02/2016 12:32

oh Stealth keep us updated!! fingers crossed we get some good news!

AF turned up today. I didn't ov last month so it was expected. I know i'm so lucky that my PCOS is somewhat managed as I do actually have periods every months (never used to) and i'm kind of regular. The clearblue advanced monitor i'm using tracks my cycles and it appears that when I ovulate my cycle is usually around 28-30 days, the months I don't ovulate my cycles are 35-37 days. Aren't our bodies strange?

So, this is my last month trying naturally, if it doesn't happen then it's on to clomid, i'm running out of patience. I just keep thinking though, I do ov some months on my own and I still don't conceive on those months, so what the hell is clomid going to do to change that? Surely nothing?

Been reading up that a 75mg aspirin a day can help to thicken the lining of your womb, increase blood flow and help you conceive. Anyone else read this or tried this? Was thinking of giving this a go in a few days when AF fucks off disappears.

stealthbanana · 13/02/2016 14:51

I don't think I can really read anything into it as I didn't see a line when I put the test down and left the room initially (after a couple of mins) - I think it's developed after the test expired iyswim. Obviously I live in hope but still just don't feel like this is my month.

Village - remember the chances of success on a "normal" cycle is only 20% (another reason I'm not feeling too confident about the IUI - odds are it didn't work), and even "normal" people take up to a year to conceive if they time it right every month. So I wouldn't read too much into not conceiving - at least the clomid will (if you respond to it) double the number of goes you get in that year.

stealthbanana · 13/02/2016 14:52

Oh and I don't take aspirin but I think the other banana is our resident expert in pills n potions you can take that might have an impact on your lining - am sure she'll be along in due course and can fill you in!

chandelierswinging · 13/02/2016 15:04

Stealth V jealous of your skiing! Enjoy!!! Perhaps it was meant to be that you had to wait until Mon?! How dpo will you be then? Don't give up hope until you have a definite answer. This time, I had no symptoms/signs whatsoever this coming from a symptom spotter addict except my period missing. Didn't think that would be possible and never believed those who said that was the case Blush

Village I thought aspirin was a blood thinning drug? Shows what I know!! Bananafish is def your woman for drug knowledge Wink

Hello IsIt! Lovely to see you in the thread, even without any "news". Thank you for your kind wishes. Hope you're well.

chandelierswinging · 13/02/2016 15:05

So many typos!!! Forgive me?!

RoseBud2016 · 13/02/2016 15:28

Elle So pleased to hear that your tubes etc are all clear and looking good! Another step closer! X

Dunlin thank you lovely, you are too sweet! So so pleased to hear you finally have been prescribed 50mg clomid!!! When do you think you'll start taking it? Do you have to take it cd2-6? X

Oooooh Rose!!! Hellooooo! How are you doing? Still planning on POAS tonirrow? We're all behind you!!!

chandelierswinging · 13/02/2016 15:35

tomorrow... ffs!

RoseBud2016 · 13/02/2016 15:36

Isit Thank you lovely! It's been an unbelievably emotionally and physically draining few weeks but it all feels worth it with so many frozen embryos waiting in the wings. When are you and DH back on the ttc train? We miss you!

Stealth exciting news about the faint line. Fingers tightly crossed that this darkens in the coming days for you..... Dare I say we could be cycle buddies because........

I got a faint line yesterday too! Never ever had one before in my life! I was only 6dp5dt yesterday but had this crazy dragging feeling from my abdomen down to my bits during the night and feel so hungry all the time st the mo, so we decided to test on an IC just to 'see' and it was there!

Took another IC or two this morning and two more faint lines! Defo pink but very faint.

We still feel very cautious, as OTD isn't until the 20th but tomoz ill be the equivalent of 13dpo so gonna use a FRER then and then decide if we believe it!

I really hope this is good news for us both Stealth. xxx

Stealth, I am so jealous of your skiing weekend – and I love that you were so relaxed your forgot about testing! (Though did you end up taking more than one test with you after all?!) Fx for Monday, but it’s great that you are not feeling too anxious. Hope you’ve been enjoying fondue and vino. Good way of recovering from the babybomb.

Village, let us know what you find out about the aspirin! And I’m really pleased for you that your DP isn’t having to fly to Barbados after all just yet.

Isit, thanks lovely, keeping on plodding on is definitely what it’s about.

Dunlin, well done on the weight loss and hooray for your clomid prescription. Are you starting very soon? What kind of monitoring will they do?

Ellewalk, hooray for your clear tubes – excellent stuff . Is clomid next?

Rosebud, don’t lose heart! Did the cramping come back? Good luck for your test tomorrow! It’s such fantastic news about having 5 frosties too. And thanks for your comforting words when I was getting stressed last week. Sorry to hear you had a panic attack but I’m glad your DH was there to mop your brow!

Lucinda, congratulations! That’s great news and I hope everything goes smoothly for you.

CwtchyQ, sorry to hear you were ill but I’m sure all the EODing means you gave it a really good go this month and are in with a good shot. I can imagine how frustrating it was though.

Nurse, I hope you’ve been having a lovely holiday and that’s a distraction from all this TTC business.

Oranges, I agree with the others – I really hope you can get scans and an increased dose if necessary. My clinic was going to give me clomid (before my tubes were confirmed as being blocked) and said I would have to have scans that I was going to have to pay for (which is a bit odd – if they are felt necessary by the clinic, why aren’t they covered by the NHS if they are going to prescribe the drug? Anyway I didn’t get a chance to query it as it became clear I’d need to go down the IVF route).

Trying, I hope some of the tips upthread help with the spots. Try not to let it get you down.

Ain, definitely no such thing as oversharing. Please don’t beat yourself up about the past. I reckon there are so many different things we can all throw at ourselves from our past but at the end of the day a lot of it just comes down to luck. And time. Flowers

Pebbles, thanks for the words of reassurance my dear.

Chandelier, yay for hearing the heartbeat!

I am now officially an IVFer – I had the baseline scan yesterday and then started my injections (menopur, not gonal-f as I was originally told) last night. It was a bit stressful but we got there in the end! And I was very thirsty during the night, but I doubt it could be an effect of the menopur after just a single, low dose. Excited to be getting started, but not sure I’ll be one of those people who just takes the injections in her strides and carries on with normal life as usual – I think I’ll be trying to get home in time for each of them!

FeeFeeLaFew · 13/02/2016 15:38

Oh wow Rosebud I crossposted with you there - I've just seen your super exciting news. Yay!! Massive congratulations, however cautiously expressed they have to be at this time! Double yay!

FeeFeeLaFew · 13/02/2016 15:42

Oh and Bananafish I've read somewhere if not above about your HCG carrying on looking good - yay! Glad you've got your scan date booked in for this month too. Not long to go now, though it must feel like ages.

RoseBud2016 · 13/02/2016 15:43

Fee - thanks lovely!! I still don't actually believe it and think it's a mistake so I hope the FRER helps me one way or the other tomorrow!
I was on Menopur too- it made me very very thirsty too! Son to drink at least 2 litres of water a day and lots of protein ( handful of Brazil nuts, lots of eggs, chicken etc and lots of green veg) What dose are you on? How did you find the first injection? So excited for you! X

RoseBud2016 · 13/02/2016 15:45

Son???? "Try" is what it should say! Grr!

OP posts:
Dunlin1987 · 13/02/2016 15:49

Rosebud oh my goodness!!! So so so so so happy for you! A faint line is definitely better than no line at all. Have everything crossed for tomorrow. I will have to induce a period first which I will be doing from about Wednesday I think. I am going away for a few days in London with Hubby next weekend and don't want Mother Nature to come along then. I have waited this long, I should be ok to wait a few more days. Yes will have to take it days 2-6. Should be week after next when I start taking it. Going to purchase some preseed to be prepared. Should I take it on the night?

Feefee I am only have a 21 day blood test. Very worried as most people seem to say you should have a scan. Maybe that is if you ovulate? I don't ovulate at all so maybe they are not worried.

FeeFeeLaFew · 13/02/2016 15:54

Think positive, Rosebud (I'm doing so on your behalf!). Bet you can't wait for tomorrow morning to come! I'm on 112.5IU to start for the next few days at least, before my first proper scan on Wednesday. It took us ages to do all the mixing up, and I couldn't get the right amount of liquid in the syringe as a giant air bubble kept getting in the way. But I think I managed the right amount in the end.
I'm certainly drinking plenty of water, and my breakfast this morning was a rather unappealing smoothie made of protein powder, avocado, blueberries and milk which I hope ticked some of the right boxes! (I have been trying to learn from you and Banana's comments about diet on here.
You took menopur together with clomid, right? Did your clinic explain much about the approach?

FeeFeeLaFew · 13/02/2016 15:56

Dunlin, I think the approach re scanning really varies from clinic to clinic. So there are lots of people that aren't monitored, and I don't think whether you ovulate is what makes the difference. I'd only had one natural cycle in living memory when they were going to put me on a ultrasound monitored cycle.

chandelierswinging · 13/02/2016 16:00

Fee Yay for you!!!! And you'll have lots of support from the resident experts here too. Hoping you find the journey smooth Flowers

Dunlin Taking at night can help to reduce any side effects, which has got to be a bonus. DH and I love pressed. You don't need loads, and you don't need to use the applicators either. We love a good share here, so I'll tell you that we use(d) it as part of foreplay so it was there and useful, but part of the fun Grin

RoseBud2016 · 13/02/2016 16:10

Dunlin Yes I would definitely recommend taking it at night because of the sweats it can cause. Also the thinking is that if you take it at night you will sleep through any other side effects. Cannot wait for you to get started!

Fee I started on 75iu Menopur from CD3-7 then had to up it to 150iu CD8-12. They wanted to use the minimum amount of stims on me that they possibly could because they were really worried about OHSS based on my scans and bloods. Glad you're taking it all in your stride and drinking 'yummy' smoothies Wink If you need any help or advice, just ask! It's a scary and exciting time! Xxx

Chandelier Thank you! I really hope your enthusiasm is well placed..... Time will tell! X

OP posts:
RoseBud2016 · 13/02/2016 16:12

Oh the Fee I don't think I managed one injection without getting an f'ing air bubble! You aren't alone there Grin

OP posts:
Dunlin1987 · 13/02/2016 16:17

Thanks everybody! Yes think I will give the applicators a miss!!! Can't think of a worse mood killer! Cant wait to get started and hopefully join everyone with their happy news of 2016!

stealthbanana · 13/02/2016 16:44

HURRAH rose! So exciting. Will keep my fingers crossed for you tomorrow. My evap was on a frer so I am not holding out too much hope, I think 5 days before a missed period it is pretty accurate and I'm pretty sure it was an evap and wishful thinking on my part

Chandelier I'll be 13dpo on Monday so a reasonable time to test. Glad I only took one test with me because I DEFINITELY would have tested tomorrow if I had more and it would have impacted my weekend either way.

Feefee- good luck with the start of IVF! Pom poms at the ready!
