Hi ladies,

This is the 2nd thread following on from

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/2452018-Waiting-to-try-and-cycle-a-mess-from-the-pill

For everyone who is entering the madness that is Ttc after stopping the pill. Maybe to start the thread we could all post our stats, so we remember where everyone is at and don't have to check the old thread. X

Oooh and I should add that I am thrilled for everyone who has got their bfp 😄 feels like we are all in it together so When anyone gets that elusive second line I'm happy for them 😊
I'm just being a wimp this week haha xx

Cookie22 · 19/03/2016 19:00

Thanks Sunny! I'll do another OPK tomorrow and see if it's any darker or positive. No idea what is going on! I don't temp, but know that I probably should. I tried it last cycle but my DH gets up at strange hours of the morning for work, so felt it wouldn't be accurate enough with erratic times every day! I just have a feeling I've definitely not ov'd yet and this is perhaps me just approaching my surge now! Xx

Cookie22 · 19/03/2016 19:06

Aww just seen your message Bobo! I totally know how you feel chick! I'm so happy whenever people on here get their bfp! It can be hard tho when in RL you have to put a 'front' on and be overjoyed, when deep down you are gutted for yourself! The day AF arrived last month I had to go shopping with colleagues for a 'baby hamper' for another colleague! 3 hours in mothercare, tk Maxx etc looking at baby stuff was not what I needed! Especially when the colleagues I was with were like 'Oooh it'll be your turn next'- argh! Sad xx

shankate182 · 19/03/2016 23:04

I think I know what's wrong with late af
I'm having af pains the last 3 days and I just went to the bathroom and got proper string ewcm so I must be ov now? Which explains the pains ov pains so I'm going to dhd tonight and for the next few nights anyways? 1st time in a while iv got this it was creamy the past few weeks but this looks like egg whites so I'm kinda disappointed now? Any opinions girls

Sunnydays321 · 19/03/2016 23:07

Probably is late ovulation, Iv ovulated on cd44 this cycle. (Even though I ovulated on something like cd20 last month) The pill can give you irregular cycles for up to a year. Some people get period type pain and ewcm in early pregnancy (although thick white cm is more common in pregnancy). X

OP posts:
shankate182 · 19/03/2016 23:27

I'm still going to test when I get my hands on one but won't be disappointed cause I'm obviously ov now instead?

Sunnydays321 · 20/03/2016 08:16

Yeah still do a test Shan just in case.

Officially 3dpo today. Ff has given me proper cross hairs today. And my nipples are killing: my normal post ovulation symptom. Got to try and book my progesterone bloods in for wed or thurs... Bet they won't have any appointments left and I will have to sneakily ask someone at work to do hem and then it will be pretty obvious we are trying. I don't want to tell anyone Hmm. Hope everyone is having a good weekend. I'm working, on a 9 day stretch with two on calls. Boo x

Poor you Sunny- hope your shifts go in quickly. Is it the NHS you work for? I've got a 4 day week next week & the following week, then off for spring break!

Here's my OPK from half an hour ago- it's definitely a positive (I think??). So as of tomorrow or Tuesday I'll be right back at the start of my tww! Clear blue tests are getting binned- the good old cheapy tests are the way forward! Just hope I actually do ov! Dtd this morning, will try seduce him again tonight and tomorrow too #exhausted Xx

Sunnydays321 · 20/03/2016 17:57

Yup cookie! That looks positive to me!! Annoying to go back to beginning of tww but better to dtd too much than not enough!

I was moaning to DH about my crap ovaries and the fact that this cycle is like 46 days and counting and he got all excited and said "maybe you are pregnant". That's the first time Iv really seen him get excited bless him. I have to explain I thought I was only just ovulating/ovulated and definitely wasn't pregnant but it was sweet!

Oh bobo, it's rubbish when it gets rubbed in doesn't it! It will be you soon though. Some times I feel fine about it and really happy for people, and then other times I feel miserable and jealous. Iv got a friend who has just started trying, she got pregnant 1st month 1st baby and she thought she was pregnant from one time dtd this time. Wish my ovaries were that eager! Xx

LemonShizzleCake · 21/03/2016 16:15

Hi all - hope everyone's having a good start to the week. Not much to report here...exhausted all the time, and generally feeling a bit "nothingy" with it. Not feeling bad, just haven't got much energy and it's making me a bit blah. Don't really want to do anything but stay in bed!

Other than that still feeling quite "normal" at this stage, no sickness/nausea to speak of really. Sore boobs when they're pressed, and DH thinks they've got bigger but I'm pretty sure that's wishful thinking. Also seem to get cold very easily and then have trouble getting warm again, which is weird (shivering a bit as we speak, even though I've got the heating on, furry slippers and a hoodie pulled up over my head!).

Appt with GP on thurs to get the ball rolling, get referred to midwife & antenatal stuff. Having friends over for dinner tonight who I would normally get quite pssed with (btw Cookie* your drunken message was hilarious Grin) so have already told a little white lie about being on mega antibiotics, so they can't even try to tempt me into having a little one. FX they believe me, I am definitely not telling anyone IRL at the moment as I am so terrified something might go wrong Sad

And yes, chapman this was our first cycle of trying (i.e. not using condoms and deliberately DTD at the right times), but I came off the pill about 18 months ago...it's taken this long for my cycles to settle down into a reasonable pattern/length! They'd been 50 days for the past 3 cycles, so I was expecting the same again - it was only because I got some EWCM that we DTD 3 days in a row just in case, and then my temps went up which confirmed what I'd suspected, that I'd ovd earlier than usual, giving me a 37-ish day cycle. So shan I am not at all surprised that you might be having some odd length cycles having only come off the pill a couple of months ago, mine were mad for ages (one cycle was almost 6 months long...!) - I hope for your sake that yours settle down faster than mine did Smile

Cookie22 · 22/03/2016 07:26

How are we all ladies? Glad to hear you're doing good lemon (apart from the tiredness!). I hope the nausea doesn't appear and you have a relatively boring pregnancy!! Has the news sunk in yet? When would your due date be roughly?

Sunny, how many dpo are you? I keep pestering you (and I apologise) but these bloody OPKs are driving me bananas!! I know you're quite knowledgable about them! This is my third day of completely positive OPKs (been testing at various times during the day too). How many days of positive did you have before the egg popped? I don't think we can keep up with dtd, been constant since fri Blush. Def need a night off tonight! Xx

BoBo90 · 22/03/2016 09:38

Morning all ☕️

Hope the opks fade out for you cookie! You deserve a break after all the bd'ing!

Af has buggered off (only three days of heavy bleeding so I'm happy 😊) Two weeks to go until ov and counting!

Poin86 · 22/03/2016 12:58

Hi all, just having a check in and seeing how you're all doing?!

Congrats Lemon Fantastic news!!

Nothing doing here. Still not "trying". Periods all on time (roughly according to the app - normally within 24 hours of it saying it should be here I come on). Had quite bad pains this weekend which felt like I was being winded, but still a relatively light bleed and back to brown spotting within 2 days of starting. Not been using OPKs as pointless at the moment and as long as I know my body is doing what it needs to I'm happy to leave it that way Smile

Made a nappy cake last week for a colleagues sister in law and go asked if it was for me... no lol. Why would I make my own and bring it to work Confused. Then had to make the cupcakes this weekend. Just handling the nappies and baby grows it felt like my ovaries exploded I was so broody! Going into making them along side my papercutting and cosmetics businesses so keeping busy is keeping me distracted!

OH doesn't seem to be budging right now so not pushing it but just wanted to let you know i'm following your journeys and hoping for the rest of you to have Star BFP Star soon!

Shan/Emma you do know you can change the screen name don't you Wink

xx

cnchapmanxx · 22/03/2016 13:22

Morning girls :)
How was everyones weekend! might was ridiculously drunk haha had 2 bottles of prosecco on sunday! AF has done one now and ive started taking seven seas pre conception. so im hoping that might work this month! its the 28 day pill one!

Bobo - bless you i feel excatly the same i get so annoyed but then i just think stop being such a bitch itl be my time one day haha hugs hope your feeling better today xxx

cookie - bless you i bet your getting proper p*ssed with these opk sticks.. hoping all the effort youv gone too you manage to catch this month fx for you babe! they normally say 12-24 hour after positive opk but you could always do your BBT im going to try do that this month! xx

sunny - how many dpo are you hun? when is testing day fx for u for this cycle you really do deserve it!

Lemon - thats such good news hun bet your over the moon! its happened for a reason! hope you have a good pregnancy xxx

Sunnydays321 · 22/03/2016 20:15

Cookie, don't worry. My opks are generally positive for 2-4 days. Although mine tend to start with equal lines, then test line gets lots darker than control, then fades to equal again before going negative. But everyone is different. I totally don't want to fuel the crazy... Because I spend last week Doing pregnancy tests and opks at the same time!!! But you had a positive opk a week or so ago, and opks go positive when you are pregnant.. Are you definitely ovulating? If you are they should go negative in next couple of days. Definitely have a night off dtd if you Need it other wise you will start resenting it.

Chapman, I'm 5dpo... Having my day 21 progesterone bloods tomorrow (at like cd49!!) counting the hours! Good for you having some drinkies.. I'm definitely going to have some drinks at the weekend if I get a bfn!

Poin, sounds fab that cycles are normal. That bodes well for you when you are ready. Fingers crossed DH comes round soon.

Bobo, glad af has done one!

X

Evening ladies! Glad AF has finished Bobo & loving your positivity. Onwards and upwards! Chapman, good on you girl! Prosecco can solve any of life's worries - though if you're anything like me then the hangover the next day isn't quite as fun Grin let me know how you get on with the seven seas hun, is it meant to help with ovulation?

Poin, glad to hear your cycles are regulating! Has your OH spoke about when he'd like to start ttc? I'm sure he'll come round in time Mrs. My DH was quite nervous about broaching the subject a few months ago, and now he's absolutely fine. He might just turn a corner all of a sudden!

Sunny, glad to hear you managed to get your bloods booked in for tomorrow! Hoping the results are all positive. Any symptoms to report yet? Oh I was totally thinking the same thing earlier this morning when the positive OPK came up again! I took an IC preg test with the same urine and it was definitely bfn. My OPK this afternoon was ever so slightly less positive so I'm hoping I've popped an egg out today! Will check again tomorrow! Xx

cnchapmanxx · 22/03/2016 21:20

Sunny - totally being ignorant here but why have you had to have tests done Hun? Is that to prove you've ovulated? Have u got any symptoms to report? And yeah I was out on Sunday all day for the football and it was just good to have a good drink and not worry about anything! X

Cookie - I felt awful yday Hun the day at work was horrific I had a pounding headache but the OH had early leave in from work so when I came home he'd ran me a bubble bath had tea all prepped so I just had to cook it and he'd put my pjs on the radiators 😭 I literally didn't know what to say he amazes me more every day haha! Well since we been ttc I haven't took anything I'm crap at taking tablets but they supposedly are good I've read a few forums and they do help and they easy to take as there like in a pill format so it tells you what day to take there brill! Let us know about your opk! I'm going to do my bbt this month to make sure I've ovulated!!

Poin - hi lovely hope your ok!! When are u and DH trying?? Has he warned to the idea a bit sooner? Xxx

Poin86 · 22/03/2016 21:34

Sunny FX for your bloods tomorrow.xx

Cookie, no, nothing doing at the moment 😕😕. Wouldn't be surprised if it's not until next year Sad. Always wanted to have a baby the year I turned 30 so I hit 60 when they turn 30 - is that just a bit weird!? I'm 30 in October so have missed out on that now! He's off away for 10 days late May and then a stag in July so maybe I can win him round by then. To be honest, not holding out much hope. We were so close and he freaked and doesn't want to discuss it! Not pressing it but maybe he'll come round or be careless - either way is good haha.xx

Hi Chapman! I'm good thanks. Suffering with spreadsheet headaches the past few days but other than that all good. AF buggered off for another month today so I'm happy! Don't want to jinx it but she's been very kind to me so far since she's been visiting again.. know it won't last long so enjoying accepting it while I can! I haven't got fed up with them being regular yet but I'm sure it'll come. How are you doing?xx

Recorder OBEM tonight as too tired to watch but can feel the broodiness stepping up 😂😂
Xxx

Cookie22 · 22/03/2016 21:53

Aw Chapman, your hubby sounds like a dream! Any chance you fancy swapping for my DH? Mines is currently lying on sofa, half asleep with beer in hand & watching the footy! He does have his good days too though! Those tablets sound good, I may give them a try if old witchy face shows up! Thinking of giving up the b6 as I think it's just playing silly games with my ovulation.

Poin, hopefully your OH will come round soon. I find it can be easier talking about these things after a glass of wine or 2! Ooh I'm currently watching OBEM- it's making me far too broody! I've always loved watching this programme & now we're ttc it just makes everything seem so real, if that makes sense! Xx

Sunnydays321 · 23/03/2016 08:14

Cookie: how is your opk today? Has the eggo popped?

Chapman: because my periods are so irregular, I have pelvic pain and scan showed polycystic ovaries (and suggested I'm not ovulating) my GP wants to do bloods to see if I'm ovulating. I think I am, based on opks and temps, just really late in cycle, and with short luteal phase so I think by the time I had the scan there was no evidence. Who knows tho. Short luteal phase is a result of low progesterone normally so it may not show if ovulated anyway. The GP wanted to do them on day 21... But I pointed out that it was obviously going to show I hadn't ovulated, because I knew I hadn't ovulated! Haha, she was a bit sceptical but agreed I could book them after I ovulated. Which wasn't until cd43!

Temps still up so fingers crossed I have ovulated! X

Poin - aw bless you lovely! i dont know how youve coped this long without going to war with him. I just told my OH i was coming off contraception he was a bit scared at first and said we agree on these things together and i said well yes but do you have a problem he said no but weve got a holiday in May and im just scared because if you do fall preggers straight away youll be massive.. Its now March im still not pregnant so i defo think hes put the jinx on it! hopefully he will warm round soon xx

cookie - haha bless you my OH is sometimes like that but think i struck lucky! i genuinely dont know if these tablets will do miracles but when i looked on other forums people have taken them and got pregnant the same cycle im hoping for the same haha! xx

Sunny- oh bless you well lets hope you get positive answers and you are ovulating when will u get the results?? xx

Cookie22 · 23/03/2016 20:45

Aw Chapman, my DH sounds exactly the same as yours! We have an all inclusive holiday booked for a week on Monday. We were both initially worried about falling pregnant too soon (back in October) and being too far on in the pregnancy to fly. Now it's the complete opposite and I could potentially be testing before I leave for the airport- madness! At least the lure of the holiday & all inclusive drinks will cushion the blow this month. I think that's why I've been a tiny bit more relaxed! Grin

Your temp chart is impressive, Sunny! I wish my hubby wouldn't get up at ridiculous o'clock so that I could temp too. FX your temp stays up and your luteal phase is longer this month! When are you testing hun? My OPK was a bit lighter again this morning and this afternoon, so definitely negative. Had pelvic pains last night and this morning, which is worrying me slightly. Every month around ov time, since December, I keep getting the heavy 'UTI' type pain exactly around the time of ovulation. It wasn't quite as bad this time around though and went away by mid afternoon. 1dpo... The long wait begins again! Xx

shankate182 · 23/03/2016 21:37

Hey all
I think ur all gona think I'm mad because af has still not arrived and I still havnt test yet 😂 I'm mad to think I keep forgetting about it 25 days late now my next cycle af is due Monday so I don't know what to think? I'm heading into town tomorrow and with the hope of God il test and check 😂 I can't leave it to long incase I am pregnant

Cookie22 · 24/03/2016 07:03

Shan, I don't know how you manage to keep forgetting about it chick! You're 25 days late! Shock you need to test right away, for the safety of the potential baby! You need to know one way or the other so that you can take the correct vitamins, adjust your lifestyle accordingly etc (e.g, stop drinking, watch what medication you're taking). You need to test! Do you want me to post you one? Xx

Sunnydays321 · 24/03/2016 07:25

Hi all. So 7dpo today... What a long boring week! The days go so slowly! Doesn't help that I'm now on day 9 of a 9 day stretch at work so I haven't even had any nice days off to break up the week. Anyway, 7 days is my shortest previous luteal phase, and 10 days my longest, so if af is coming she should arrive by Sunday night. I'm going to test Saturday because we have a big night out Sunday. I know I can't trust a negative at 9dpo so even if it's negative I still won't drink much just in case but I might allow myself a couple of small wines (I figure if no hcg even if I'm pregnant it hasn't implanted yet so not going to get pickled) if it's positive (which I doubt) I will have to think up a good excuse!

No symptoms over here. Sore nipples but that's my usual post ov sign. And sore boobs, but I had that last month too so think that's just post ov progesterone. Nothing else. I want to get my blood results today but but it's unlikely the go will have looked at them, then I'd have to wait til Tuesday. It's annoying as I have access to path results but we aren't allowed to look up our own... But it's just a tease when I know it's only a few clicks away. I'm too scared to risk it tho! Haha.

Where is everyone else in cycle now? Anyone else testing over Easter?

Cookie glad you opk has faded. Good luck for your tww. I have some months where the ov pain is worse than others. Sometimes it really hurts, like hot water bottle and paracetamol type hurts!

Shan, just test! Haha. You must buy food,...they sell them in supermarkets, pound shops, pharmacies, online! You can get 50 for £3 delivered to your door from Amazon in 24 hours! No excuses! 😀 it might be just a long cycle after pill, but if it is a baby and you are nearly 4 weeks late then you would be 8 weeks pregnant. Midwives like to book you between 8-12 but if you don't let them know til later they will struggle to find you an appointment because the booking appointments use up such big slots (usually an hour) they are difficult to squeeze into busy clinics. Ok midwife lecture over! Haha xx
