Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

 1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
 2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
 3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
 4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.
 5. Thou shalt not be offended by the word vagina.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others. Also known as 'the witch', 'bitch witch' and 'that one with the red shiny convertible'

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a Kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit), or PIATLH (Tea light holder), PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in! PONF = Pee on Nigel Farage (Self explanatory)

ROC = Receptacle of Choice - what one chooses to use for the task of POAS. Optional decorations include photographs of controversial political leaders.

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet or jizz in the eye. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Jizz in a bra = how we transport the jizz to the Sperm Queen

Shagging like Something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into TTC obsession. Warning - this may happen to you if you start trying to POAS at 5dpo. PUT. THE. PISSY. STICK. DOWN. IT'S TOO EARLY!

Contraband (or Cuntraband) = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

SOTM = Shagger of the Month. Awarded with varying regularity to those viroids who go above and beyond EOD shagging in pursuit of that BFP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture. AKA Schroedingering!
TWPU - Two Week Piss Up!

Keeping your gingers = fingers crossed, yet another autocorrect development! Shortened to 'gx'

Doing A Lemon = Testing WAAAAAAAY to early!

Miroid - The male compadre of a viroid

Cat - Compulsory

Skittletits - Killer molten painful tits and nipples

Ghost jizz/goat jazz - When the amazing foof sucks up all the jizz - achieved when coming at the same time/nearly the same time.

Happy Birthday Ill, its mine too, what a good day for a birthday Grin. I hope you can have a good day today and relax.

Got the birthday cape on in the middle of the night, I was very pleased with myself.

KitKat1985 · 07/01/2016 09:46

Ahh thank you for all the welcome hellos ladies! TV is indeed a bit rubbish, and the weather is crap, so I guess it's a good time of year to get shagging. Grin

Sorry to hear you've have such a rough month Illiria. MCs are such an awful thing to have to deal with. A good friend of mine last year had an ectopic and ended up haemorrhaging and losing the baby, and needed emergency surgery to remove one of her fallopian tubes. Against all the odds she got pregnant again only a couple of months later but then had a miscarriage at about 10 weeks. She's not coping well bless her (been off work with anxiety and depression) and getting very upset each time she sees a pregnant woman or a baby. In fact it'll be bloody hard telling her if I do get pregnant reasonably quickly as I really don't know how she would react. I'm considering next time I see her (last saw her shortly before Christmas) I might gently mention to her that me and DH are TTC again so it's not such a shock to her when it happens. Or is that a really stupid idea? Or do you ladies think it would be better just to keep quiet for now and talk to her when it happens (presuming it does obviously)?

coribeth · 07/01/2016 09:59

Hmm tough one kit I'm a talker and appreciate up front and honest so if it was me I'd feel better if you shared but I guess everyone is different and you know your friend best!

fruitlovingmonkey · 07/01/2016 10:16

I think it's a good idea to mention it Kit. I had a mmc at 12 weeks and then wasn't allowed to try again for about 3 months because of related health problems. I found it very hard to see babies and pg announcements but the worst were the surprises (never wanted kids/ unstable relationship, etc). If I knew someone was possibly going to announce then I could prepare myself and it didn't hurt as much.

KitKat1985 · 07/01/2016 10:57

Hmm yeah I think I will gently mention it to her next time I see her. I think if she was more prepared for it when it happens then it might soften the blow a bit.

pretzelpieces · 07/01/2016 12:46

Happy birthday cats and ill!

ill it's good to see you again. I was just wondering how you were getting on Flowers

coribeth · 07/01/2016 15:56

Happy Birthday to the birthday girls!
Just logged into my glow for first time in a month and the first thing it tells me is to take a pg test really considering deleting the damn thing according to glow my period isn't due till the tenth.
So here's an idea glow instead of me wasting money , building my hopes up then being bitterly disappointed yet again why don't I just wait till my period is actual late! Angry

angelazul · 07/01/2016 17:09

Happy birthday Cats & Ill Cake It's one of my best friends' birthday & work colleague's birthday today as well, popular day to have a baby Grin

Kit as the others have said, I'd prefer to be pre-warned.

Cori I use glow & ovia, & ovia is even worse - it's contributed in no small part to my obssession with poas Blush

So, the witch is on her way out I think & hope. Might be a silly question, but should I be worried if my periods are really light? They used to be really heavy for 3-4 days & then last day or 2 would be lighter. Since coming off the pill they've been shorter (usually 3 days, but once it was 2 days) & a helluva lot lighter.

justtheonethen · 07/01/2016 17:47

Happy birthday cats and ill Cake

My periods are much shorter after coming off pill too.

I lost all my remaining chickens to a fox today Sad

Kwick709 · 07/01/2016 18:24

just how sad Flowers that must be devastating :(

happy birthday to bday jsers!!!

corgi88 · 07/01/2016 18:30

oh no just I'm so sorry Sad blast those foxes. Will you get more chickies? Wine
Happy birthday cats and ill. Glad to see you are redonning the cape too ill. Hope you and Mr Ill are holding up OK. Flowers I think Christmas may be the worst time to have an MC though at least I got some wine afterwards!
NFMH (hair): went for a haircut to cheer self up. Got the man to chop loads off and was slightly worried I looked like Severus Snape for a bit but then it dried all nice and curly. whoo!
NFMV: have got my cape on and shagged a couple of times. Is quite sore though if DH gets carried away and thrusts. Hope this normal post-MC....
cori and angel Ovia is already excitedly telling me that I have 22 days until I take a pg test.... grrr.
welcome kitkat! I know what you mean with your friend. I have a lovely friend who has had the worst time with conceiving, I think she has had about 3 failed IVF cycles now and has given up Sad so I didn't feel I could tell her we were TTC. After my MC though I decided to tell her and I'm glad I did, it's good to talk about these things really.

CountryGal4 · 07/01/2016 19:00

Catscatsandmorecats · 07/01/2016 21:12

country those waffles look amazing!

Thank you Viriods for the birthday wishes, it has been a lovely day with one major bit of joyous news: my best friend had her first baby today. They had been ttc for nearly 9 years and had been through so much awfulness that this is truely the best news ever. (Very good of them to time it for my birthday too Grin)

Catscatsandmorecats · 07/01/2016 21:15

just I'm so sorry about your Chickies, bastard fox. There are about to be a load of ex commercial layers up for rehoming if you feel ready for more soon. Big unmumsnetty hugs

angelazul · 07/01/2016 21:44

Just sorry to hear about your wee chicks, that's so shit Flowers

Corgi I'm almost considering deleting the apps but I probably won't with their bloody countdown to testing.

Cats great news about your friend, fantastic to hear they've got their wee baby after so long.

Vidroids I've figured out what it is we need to do get upduffed - build/renovate a house Wink I swear every time I see one of these shows the woman falls pregnant half way through the "project."

pretzelpieces · 07/01/2016 22:02

Oh just that's so sad Flowers

Catscatsandmorecats · 07/01/2016 22:26

angel - Yes! So true, if we all start up our own grand design we will be upduffed within the month Grin

honeysucklejasmine · 07/01/2016 22:30

Here you are! Jeez, I know feel like a right old gimmer as I don't understand ANY of the references in the title!

Honey
29 for another few months
33+1 with DC #1

Canters15 · 07/01/2016 23:26

Canters, 29, TTC #1, cycle 3.

DH penis is rouge from all the honeymoon shagging. Now have a skittle tits so must have iced in last couple of days....though last ewcm was monday. Who knows!

Japan is a crazy place! Dh is in love with the public transport system- v efficient. He thinks the trains are beautiful- I appear to have inadvertently married a train spotter. Eaten no end of unidentifiable mystery foods. Discovered I hate sake but quite partial to schochu. Heading to the fish market today to eat all of the sushi I can lay my grubby little mits on.

V interesting re tsh. Mine was around 4.6 a couple of years ago so will definitely get rechecked if I do fall pregnant...

justtheonethen · 08/01/2016 20:33

Sorry to say but I didn't fall pregnant during our total house renovation, although we didn't build one so maybe that's the key!

I'm looking at holidays Smile. Thinking Malaysia or Philippines. Anyone got any suggestions for amazing places with great beaches, ideally posh bungalows on the beach and good food?
Ideally similar to Thailand. will probably look at everything then just go to Thailand again
