Relaxed TTC Feb/March/April 2016

Hi,

We've just agreed to start TTC #1 in March so just starting to look at preparing for that - prenatal vitamins, losing some weight, etc.

I'm 33 and have only been with my OH for just over a year but we're both sure this is the relationship for us...we'll be getting married but want TTC as a priority and fit any wedding around Mother Nature.

Not planning any temp checking or charting or such like....maybe I'll change my mind if I'm not preggers after six months or so!

Anyone planning TTC about the same time and want to keep in touch on this thread for relaxed catch ups about preparing and then TTC?

Well, expecting AF tomorrow, we didn't DTD at all during the fertile window thanks to illness, but that's fine, I think I'd rather leave off until May for real, and not even 'see what happens.' I'm really starting to focus on fitness at the minute and I'd like to actually make progress before falling.

raddersmrs · 03/03/2016 07:21

AF has now gone for me and so it's on to the first month of ttc. Feeling a little apprehensive and wondering if I'm mad, the usual stuff, but the thought of not trying makes me feel worse.

Wishing the month away to see if I will have a 2016 baby!

Pointlessfan · 03/03/2016 17:42

Highhopes I have actually been lying still afterwards! Still waiting to see if period arrives on Sunday.
3 different friends have announced pregnancies in the last week, I'm itching to join them!

Wheresmybippers · 03/03/2016 20:00

My DH refuses to um...get out...afterwards. For a good few minutes! Which is awkward...and totally not beneficial I don't think!!

wispaxmas · 03/03/2016 21:13

LOL, it's totally not beneficial, apparently everything gets to where it needs to go within seconds and lying still or propping your self up has no effect.

wispaxmas · 03/03/2016 21:14

Pointless, eek, FX you get a BFP!!

Wheresmybippers · 03/03/2016 21:45

I'm always like "um...can I go now?" Grin

dynia · 04/03/2016 08:59

wispaxmas Yes, it's crosshairs. And I got a message saying my temps were too inconsistent for a pattern. Guess I need to use the OPKs. It now has two predicted period start dates.

A bit up in the air at the moment, we didn't hit the fertility window at all and I got a bit blue about it and frustrated which isn't super conducive to babymaking. My DH has some sensory issues and if everything isn't exactly right, it's a non-starter. It's not normally a bit deal (we'll try again later!) but I guess the limited fertility window makes it a bit more stressful. If FF is to be believed, I'll be out of town for the next one :(

TheresaMarie55 · 05/03/2016 08:29

Just popping in to say I'm still lurking lol. Not to long now until I'm off the pill and can join the ttc talk. Sending good vibes to those already trying x

Pointlessfan · 05/03/2016 16:18

I'm trying so hard not to do a pregnancy test yet! Period due tomorrow but if it doesn't appear I'm going to try to wait until Tuesday so I can pick up a test when I go to the supermarket.

Pointlessfan · 06/03/2016 08:26

Not pregnant.
Nevermind,at least I can have a glass of wine with lunch! Might have a break over March because we're going on holiday and also I'd prefer not to have a Christmas baby. I'll probably change my mind though tbh as I'm getting more and more broody.

raddersmrs · 06/03/2016 19:36

Hope you enjoyed your glass of wine pointless

I'm coming up to my fertile window this week which I'm excited about. Trying to tell myself it might not happen though rather than getting my hopes up. But it's difficult.

I'm starting to realise how hard it is if it takes a long time because the month cycle seems to pass so slowly! I'm wishing my life away this month which is awful really

AliceScarlett · 06/03/2016 22:29

FW coming up, as is a big promotion at work. If I don't get it I'll hand my notice in...so everything is up in the air. Need to take a month off ttc to see if I get this more senior role. Argh.

HighHopes16 · 07/03/2016 13:31

Well I'm two weeks late now! (second cycle after coming off the pill)

I took a pregnancy test yesterday because I thought it would be SO nice if I found out I was pregnant on Mothers day but instead I got a BFN! Sad

We discussed stopping ttc for the next month or so to give my cycles a chance to get back to normal and we don't fancy a Christmas baby either! hmm!

Pointlessfan · 07/03/2016 19:46

DH has def vetoed a Christmas baby so we're taking a break in March. I'm going to compensate a bit by having lots of nice cheeses and beer while I can!

TheresaMarie55 · 07/03/2016 20:04

Those of you already ttc but taking a break, I take my hat off to you! I'd not be able to help myself lol. I'm counting down the weeks now until I'm ttc. Got quite a bit going on the months following me coming off the pill so hopefully I'll not be thinking about it to much x

themightymoosh · 08/03/2016 07:27

Checking back in. Had AF and just in the FW now. I prefer to DTD in the morning but I've had so many early starts that it's in the evening and I end up laying flat for a good eight hours afterward...

Ovia says test in about two weeks. Everything crossed (for others testing too!)

For those taking a break, enjoy your booze and cheese!

wispaxmas · 08/03/2016 11:03

Good luck, mighty, fx for a bfp in a couple weeks! And enjoy your beer for March, pointless Grin

AF is gone now, but my H is going to be away next week over O, so doubtful anything will happen this month and I'm totally still holding out for May. Started temping just for the hell of it. DD wakes us up between 6-7 every morning Anyways, so I might as well check and see which day exactly I'm ovulating for better precision when May rolls around Grin

Sienna9522 · 08/03/2016 14:23

Trying to pinpoint when I ovulate is making me stressed and anxious.

Will having sex every other day throughout the month be enough?

dynia · 08/03/2016 14:47

Me too! I seem to have broken fertility friend - have had signs of ovulation but my temperatures zigzag from day to day so it has given up on me.

I've been feeling a bit under the weather (headache, nausea, smell sensitive) and I got a bit down that if I can't handle whatever bug I have, I'm going to be a miserable pregnant person.

TheresaMarie55 · 08/03/2016 15:29

Sienna, I would say that dtd every other day will most definitely be the best thing to do!

Dynia, everyone handles pregnancy differently. Some people absolutely love it, some not so much, just one of those things x

dynia · 08/03/2016 15:49

TheresaMarie55 My mum had a super easy pregnancy so that gives me hope.

HighHopes16 · 10/03/2016 10:35

Well I felt dreadful last night-aching all over, shivering & a headache and this morning I think I've come on!! :(

wispaxmas · 10/03/2016 13:49

Siena, that should be more than enough Grin

Dynia, pregnancy effects everyone so differently, you might find that you've never felt better (happened to my SIL!), or you might feel sick and tired, but the end result is worth it, so it's so different to having a bug.

wispaxmas · 10/03/2016 13:56

I've hit a snag in getting a handle on my cycles through temping - my bbt thermometer isn't working properly! My pre-O temps are usually quite low, below 36 degrees, but the last couple mornings it's been 36.5ish, and I tried checking my temp at other times of day and it is throwing up crazy different numbers, apparently at 10am I was 34.5 when my Braun in-ear thermometer was reading 36.8! I've ordered a new thermometer for less than £5 as I'm really reticent to use OPKs and squint at lines trying to work out how dark they are.
