Join us. It's a boat. Full of okp's and symptom spotting and insanity! But also much love and support! We were supposed to start next month, we already have a few bfp's! Our dps don't know what's hit them!

Kat I'm roughly in line with you - currently on CD 7. End Jan feels like a long way away!!

StarkyTheDirewolf · 21/12/2015 22:38

snow the right to change your mind 6 billion times is absolutely correct and shared by every single member, it reminds me of "the poas rules" thread 1 I think runner

ni my mydays says I've not ovulated yet, ovia says I have, okp's aren't helping! So will just have to wait till af arrives next month and I should have some more of an idea! I'm not 30 yet quite but I've been looking for ewcm, and now I'm looking for it, it's not arrived! I haven't a clue what to think but I'm fairly certain that if I had a window that I wandered past it unaware!

You will canters visualise it!
first I think the first cycle after the pill is always unpredictable.
kat positive mind set is the way to be! Xmas Smile

starky I am 7 months after stopping now. Hoping it will settle soon!

KateMossIsMyQueen · 21/12/2015 22:55

Hey there! TTC #1, first month trying, 7dpo. Symptom spotting like mad already, know I need to calm the eff down. Have PCOS but after shifting a ton of weight my periods have been regular for a couple of years now. Hubs is military and away ALOT so we've been making as much use of his Christmas leave as possible. We know that he'll be gone in January so it's either now or Feb...

Does everyone get implantation bleeding? I know 7dpo is super early, and I am already impatient... AF due New Year's Day

StarkyTheDirewolf · 21/12/2015 23:21

Apologies first I thought this was your first month off Blush it took me ages to get into a regular cycle after the depo jab. It will settle, are you using ovia? I'm really sorry, this thread has moved so fast this last week! My heads up my arse and I haven't got a clue!

Welcome kate Xmas Grin

Firstgo acupuncture might help to regulate your cycle. I started going and got my second cycle one day longer than my first! Not bad for someone who always had irregular cycles pre pill! Plus my acupuncturist was so knowledgeable about fertility she was great to talk to (I say was cos she's pregnant herself and is off on maternity leave after our next apt!)

Ni4444 · 22/12/2015 00:45

Missed more posts... This thread moves so quickly!

Thanks for the feedback Snow. Think I'll order some...Can't do any harm!

Hi Kate! Welcome! Makes it extra tricky when your OH works away. Fingers crossed you get upduffed soon! And no, not everyone gets implantation bleeding...I'm not sure what percentage of people do (I'm sure someone on here will know!)... But do keep in mind some people have zero symptoms until 6 weeks so you're never out until you're out!

Milimum1 · 22/12/2015 02:43

Hello ladies,

I'm new to mums met, so still trying to learn the language!

TTC #1
Cycle #1

I've been discreetly tracking my period/ovulation for the past 6 months and heavily hinting about starting a family to my OH. He told me at dinner the other week that he wanted to try for a baby and I nearly fell off my chair.

So, as luck would have it, that night was the last day of my fertile period and I can POAS in 6 days! Trying to play it super cool and not get too excited...failing.

My only concern is that I know it took my mum a year to conceive me and my brothers, does anyone know if that kind of thing is hereditary?

Canters15 · 22/12/2015 06:58

Welcome mili! I don't see why if would be hereditary, could be as much to do with your dad as your mum. Best thing is to crack on with the sex and see how you go. Eeeeeeek another poas! Fingers crossed!

Ni I was toying with acupuncture. Have had it once before for a bad back years ago and just remembered being sprawlled on a couch with a load of needles stuck in my bum, like a hedgehog! However when it comes to TTC I will try anything that will help...did your acupuncturist use it herself to get upduffed, out of interest?

Runner05 · 22/12/2015 07:02

Hello newbies Grin

Ni around 30% of people get implantation bleeds. I don't think any of our current BFPs did Smile

Mil whether your mothers problem is hereditary or not would depend on the cause but it is unlikely. Please keep in mind that it's perfectly normal to take up to a year to get pregnant however given your mums history I would make a dr appointment if your not upduffed within 6 months.
Do you mind me asking how old you are?

How are you ladies that are close to testing. Any of you caved yet? go on, you know you want to!

DrWhy · 22/12/2015 07:04

Millimum it took my parents 8 years and assistance so if it is I'm in trouble! I guess it would depend on the reason but to the best of my knowledge it's generally not. As someone suggested to me, a gene that reduced fertility would be less likely to get passed on by its very nature - ie if my mums mum had suffered from the same thing as mum, she'd probably never have managed to pass it on as there wasn't any intervention then and mum would never have been born. In fact my mum herself was a surprise later in life baby for her mum, 15 years younger than her brother so my grandmothers fertility was clearly fine!
My reasoning is based more on logic and experience than hard science though!

DrWhy · 22/12/2015 07:05

Hi Runner thanks for popping by, was missing you now you are off on the shiny new grads thread! How are you feeling?

Runner05 · 22/12/2015 07:13

Hi Dr, I'm still popping in but I'm back at work now so can't be quite so active Confused

I'm good thanks, I've finally stopped feeling that I might explode from bloat (bloat is lovely, you'll all enjoy it not) and looking forward to my first Dr appointment tomorrow Grin I'm 3+6 now, so about 2 weeks until the real fun starts Wink

Pinklily1 · 22/12/2015 07:32

Morning ladies!

Welcome to Mil and Kate. How old are you both?

Mil - i don't think ability to conceive is necessarily a hereditary thing, I suppose how long it takes could be to do with any number of things. As the ver wise Runner says, maybe if it takes a while go and get checked out by your gp.

Ni, no implantation bleeding here. Just the worst bloating and nausea in the history of the world slight exaggeration, but that's how it eels this morning

Hope the return to work is going ok Runner.

I poas on a Clear Blue Digital today, just to check Grin. Clearly upduffed!

Ttc#1 THREAD 3. Some bfp's, some bfn's, cervical mucus examination class of what was supposed to be January 2016.
LittleBelle90 · 22/12/2015 07:41

Congratulations pink!

My opk this morning was a smiley face (using the clearblue digital ones) but according to ovia my fertile window doesn't start for another 2 days. I'm CD 9, is that a usual time to ovulate?

Pinklily1 · 22/12/2015 07:48

Little - I would trust the op rather than Ovia (I believe i ovulated a week earlier than Ovia said I did).

I think the CD you ovulate depends really on how long your cycles are. Jump on your OH just in case Grin

Pinklily1 · 22/12/2015 07:50

*trust the opk

Runner05 · 22/12/2015 07:51

Little ovulating cd9 is early but normal. I ovulated about then and it obviously didn't hurt me any Grin

Jamjar12 · 22/12/2015 07:52

A wave of fresh vomiting and diarrhoea sent me running to the loo this morning and while I was just sat dying on the floor, thought I'd test on an Internet cheapie. BFN. Couldn't be more clean and white if it tried!

Real tempted to nip out and buy a super drug one- what do you guys think? Are Internet cheapies that good early? I'm 11 or 12 DPO and Ovia says I should test from today.

Pinklily1 · 22/12/2015 08:01

Hi Jam. That sounds awful, bless you!

I would get yourself a Superdrug test or a First Response as they are meant to be the most sensitive.

Runner05 · 22/12/2015 08:29

Jam I agree with Pink but it does sound like you have stomach flu :-(

Ic's are good but I found that they weren't as sensitive as FRER.

drinkyourmilk · 22/12/2015 08:53

pink, i imagine that seeing the word 'pregnant' is just as exciting as seeing the bfp!
Jam, FX for you, sounds like a bug (or triplets?Grin).
Welcome mil, I don't think fertility is genetic, my mum just had to brush past my dad to conceive, we've been trying years. Don't forget there are two of you, so not all down to our genetics.

drinkyourmilk · 22/12/2015 08:55

I'm starting to loose track of people on the thread now, tempted to start a list!
