Join us. It's a boat. Full of okp's and symptom spotting and insanity! But also much love and support! We were supposed to start next month, we already have a few bfp's! Our dps don't know what's hit them!

Dubbya · 20/12/2015 19:06

Thanks elle Xmas Smile

Dubbya · 20/12/2015 19:08

Thanks pink. Yes I might just start daily poas-ing until af hehe!

Pinklily1 · 20/12/2015 19:19

Are you using first response tests Dub?

Whyissheontheship · 20/12/2015 19:24

Aww you guys are the best!

I just decided to explain to DH about CM he looked horrified especially when I told him that the fertile stuff is a bit like pre-cum Blush he threw a pillow at me and told me he doesn't want to hear another word Grin

So glad I've found people to obsess with as I'm trying not to tell anyone in real life yet!

In other news still bloated (probably from all the wine and chocolate) and am convinced irrationally that I could have missed ovulation and might be pregnant.

Dubbya · 20/12/2015 19:42

pink I am using a boots own brand but says can test up to 5 days early if that means anything?

May try with fmu tomorrow as may make a difference?

Pinklily1 · 20/12/2015 19:45

Just wondered Dub. I spent about half an hour in Boots the other day trying to decide between a boots own brand and a first response! I think first response are meant to pick up pg the earliest out of the tests.

Also think you are meant to use flu ideally.

Dubbya · 20/12/2015 19:50

Ha pink I did the same but then realised I was running late so just grabbed the boots one so as not to break the bank! Used one test today so will do with fmu tmrw.

Which did you get in the end?

Dubbya · 20/12/2015 19:50

Will use the other test tmrw I mean (2 in pack)

Pinklily1 · 20/12/2015 20:01

Meant fmu obviously, bloody autocorrect!

I panicked and got the first response. They seem to be few and far between in the shops here and the only place I've found them is boots so thought I would invest whilst I was there!

KatOnATinRo0f · 20/12/2015 20:09

First response are so expensive though... About £13-£15?! Whyyyy??? It's a stick of cardboardy foamy type stuff and a bit of plastic !

Runner05 · 20/12/2015 20:12

You can get FRER on Amazon for £6.50 for a double pack it I think they're about £8.50 in Tesco. Going off the top of my head though Smile

Pinklily1 · 20/12/2015 20:18

Kat - it was £10.49 for a pack of two in boots. Still expensive but I wanted to have them in for testing over the Christmas period and left it too late to order online I think.

I would have got sainsburys as they are cheaper but have read a lot of dodgy things about their pg tests so I decided to steer clear!

Pinklily1 · 20/12/2015 20:19

I think a lot of the brands exploit us poor slightly insane TTC ladies Grin

ElleSarcasmo · 20/12/2015 20:34

Oh no! Bought a sainsbury 2 pack the other day. They didn't have any 1st response. Looks like I'll be taking a trip to boots, at least the points are good!

ElleSarcasmo · 20/12/2015 20:36

Grin at pre cum why, another thing not to mention to DH!

ElleSarcasmo · 20/12/2015 20:40

Putting a science hat on Pink, some of the tests have a higher concentration than others of the antibody that binds HCG (the hormone you start to produce when pg), hence why the early response type tests can pick up an earlier pregnancy than the normal ones, so they probably DO cost more to produce...though no idea how much more so still quite possibly ripping off us anxious TTCers!

Pinklily1 · 20/12/2015 20:40

Elle I just happened to google them and it came up with lots of people who had had what seemed to be faulty tests. I use sainsburys OPKs though and they are fine, so who knows! You may as well use them and get a first response if necessary!

ElleSarcasmo · 20/12/2015 20:42

Maybe I will buy a first response or 10 and keep them for emergencies! Thanks Pink. I nearly bought a shed load of internet cheapies but was put off by a few reviewers saying they had false positive results-that must be gutting Sad

ElleSarcasmo · 20/12/2015 20:45

Not sure why I bought them really-went to buy the OPKs but they had sold out-should have waited!

Turnertime14 · 20/12/2015 21:31

Hi!
Please can I join? I've been reading behind the scenes and have been really excited (bit jealous!) about all the BFPs! We're just about to start TTC cycle 2 and it would be great to have other people to go a bit crazy with!! Hope everyone testing in the next week is as lucky as runner, stark, blue etc!!!

ElleSarcasmo · 20/12/2015 21:41

Welcome Turner! It has been an exciting week on here, fx for more excitement next week!

LaraG13 · 20/12/2015 21:44

Welcome Turner! We'll go crazy with you!

Sorry Dubbya. Not out yet though!

LaraG13 · 20/12/2015 21:48

Why - I'm going to avoid using the 'mucus' word around OH I think! It takes dirty talk a step too far :)

Turnertime14 · 20/12/2015 21:54

Haha Lara - I haven't gone into that much detail yet with DH! Will bide my time!
