Ttc#1 THREAD 3. Some bfp's, some bfn's, cervical mucus examination class of what was supposed to be January 2016.

Join us. It's a boat. Full of okp's and symptom spotting and insanity! But also much love and support! We were supposed to start next month, we already have a few bfp's! Our dps don't know what's hit them!

So fertility friend matches my own feeling - that ovulation was last week. Interesting to see the difference in apps based on inputting the same information!

Lan opk's are really good for some and not as good for others. I got really strong results from mine. The only reason they weren't perfect was because I started using them too late because I ovulated spectacularly early.

Stark don't give yourself such a hard time. None of us have any control over this. It's like playing pin the tail on the donkey only, with sperm but if your used to taking control of your life and making things happen it's absolutely maddening! Confused

Pink Ovia was a week late for me too. I think it takes a couple of cycles to calibrate.

pink I am purely using Ovia at the moment, not used any OPK yet have said will try them next month if we arent lucky this month. I must admit I have had some symptoms of ovulation noticebly my CM is a different consistency yesterday and today. It is confusing though I do have another app but like you they varied so I thought it best to stick to Ovia.

Almost finished work for the weekend, then I am going to have a nice soak and maybe a glass of wine while the OH is at football training. Feeling more relaxed now and hopefully that will help TTC.

Relaxing is the key. And shagging regularly throughout your cycle. Even twice a week would cover it.
I don't chart, I go by CM and I generally can feel ovulation coming on. I used to chart. My husband has (quite rightly) forbidden it. I think it was putting it on a whiteboard in the kitchen that did it. And calling him home early from work when the sticks decreed. Blush

I think I'll have a go with OPK strips next month just to hopefully get some kind of sign that I obviously am ovulating. I'm not sure I noticed any EWCM though. Can you ovulate but your mucus just isn't erm conductive to allow the passage of swimmers??

My cm is not playing ball, I haven't had any ewcm as far as I can tell, so I've honestly got no idea if I habe/havrnt/will yet ovulate. Meh! One of those things I suppose! I had thought it would be easier to tell when, but who knows!

Dh is singing in the shower, or strangling a cat, jury's still out on that one. 🐱

I've seen "fertility gel" which is supposed to be a nice slippery medium for the swimmers to get through... Wondering about trying that along with OPK strips...

So I am officially the longest trying? All the other originals are upduffed already? I'm on AF and she's messing with my emotions so I might have a little cry Hmm

I'm not see whether next month to get OPK and do then every day and cheapie preg tests and daily test (seemed to work well for runner!) or to not bother with any of it, dtd when I feel like it and that's that.

Knowing me I'll get the sticks and half heartedly use them and therefore be no better off at the end of next month.

But I'm going to an Xmas party and my jumper has bells on. And a bobbly rudolf nose. I think I will just jingle and not worry. Yeah right

Ah I've missed so much this week!
Congrats Runner and shelb , super excited for you both! Thanks to both of you and Bunch for sharing your wisdom.
DH has been stressed this week as we can't be together to DTD on the right days (for work reasons) Sad made me realise it is probably better not to overload him with lots of TTC talk and just try and make the most of the time we do have. Some friends of ours are having fertility issues also which may have made him more anxious, bless him.

Kat i only used the opk's to check that I was right about when I was ovulating... Turns out I was putting all the effort in at the wrong time. And as far as the testing goes, I'm a bit OCD and it simply made me feel in control. I think it's just about doing what you need.
Have you thought about temping? It's a pain in the bum but if it works it not only confirms when and if you're ovulating but also gives you an early indication of pregnancy.

I thought I'd try the OPK strips first- for the same reasons as you- I think I might be ovulating earlier than "normal" as my cycles seem to be on the short side. I think I'd be useless at Charting and it sounds like a load of bother really- and people get really varied results.

elle that's been my problem this week to, Dh and I have been like ships in the night! And then ovia changed my dates so I had a meltdown!

kat Im an original and I'm not upduffed yet either, and I'm stressing because I have a feeling in January Dh will get all twitchy about work and say we need to hold off trying for a while. 4 months is nothing in the grand scheme of things. We will get there! And you go with your bells on and jingle all the blooming way! Xmas Grin 💐 👑 🌞

We have had a lot of beginners luck on this thread, but I think sharing the experience has massively helped too. I didn't know anything about ttc before being on here with you guys! Honestly thought it was as simple as 'have sex, be pregnant, have baby'. So I feel very lucky to be here with you all! Our newly prego baby mama's leading the way, and all us ovulation obsessers sharing and looking forward to being excited!

True, give opk's a go. Start using them from the day AF finished until you get your first positive. You might be surprised as looking back I realised that both months off the pill I ovulated about 3 or 4 days after AF which is way earlier than I thought.

I'm sure all of the grads will be popping in for the foreseeable future. I wouldn't go expecting us to be wise though as I for one have no idea what I'm doing!!! Confused

Aww stark I hope you're wrong about the OH freaking out poke holes in all the condoms! there has been a ridicules amount of beginners luck which will hopefully continue in the next couple of months. We have nice comfy seats reserved for all of you in the grads thread you'll just get there in your own time.

Plus look on the bright side... When you get there we'll be able to tell you all the stupid shit we did in our first month and how to avoid it. X Smile
