Join us. It's a boat. Full of okp's and symptom spotting and insanity! But also much love and support! We were supposed to start next month, we already have a few bfp's! Our dps don't know what's hit them!

Well, I've tried to catch up on what's been happening!! Fingers crossed for you all this month.

Had my doc's appointment, wasn't sure what to expect, but was less than impressed I have to say..no blood pressure, nothing of that nature - just a few qs about last period and taking down my details so I get free prescriptions. I had lots of Q's (well you would, wouldn't you?!) and I was told it was nice to chat, but not when I'm running late and I have 4 patients waiting (WTF) I had to wait too. Oh, and she mentioned nothing about getting a flu jab, so I've had to rebook with the nurse tomorrow...hoping when I see the midwife it will be a lot better!

Just wanted reassurance that it's normal to have days when you have no symptoms (it is I have since found out from MN!). All so new to me and I'm the sort of person that wants all the info upfront!

Bunch - from your post agggges ago, as a result of today I'm now seriously considering booking a private scan at around 8 weeks (all being well) as I'm not sure my nerves will hold out till 12. At 8 weeks they should be able to detect quite a bit (as opposed to now!)

Also, a good excuse that I will be using this Christmas is that I have been diagnosed with IBS (not that far removed from reality!) and the doctor has ordered me to cut out alcohol and caffeine completely to see if it makes a difference. So I'm not on antibiotics, but doc's orders. Also covers frequent loo visits!

Morwenna1 · 16/12/2015 12:23

Also, thought it would be useful to share some info off the notes the doc gave me today:

Multivits recommended:

  • Superdrug Pregnancy Care multivits
  • Pregnacare vits
  • Sanatogen Mum-to-be vits
  • The Haliborange baby and toddler range

NOT recommended:

  • Seven Seas Multivits
  • Health Span Multivits 50+
Not suitable for pregnant women due to the vitamin A content.

FYI I'm taking the Tesco pregnancy vits + Omega 3 capsules which the doc was happy with (also a bit cheaper than the branded ones). These don't contain vit A, so are safe.

Runner05 · 16/12/2015 12:58

mor your doctor seems about as much use as mine but the midwife should be better.

I think I've decided to be a bit more chilled about tcc next month. I'm just going to shag every 2 to 3 days for as much of the month as I can manage (my poor OH) and try not to think about anything else.

With any luck we'll be putting the flat up for sale next month and looking for a house and I'll be looking for a care home for mum and going back to work full time so I should have plenty to keep my mind occupied!!

shelbTa · 16/12/2015 13:32

Runner you have got a lot on, not to mention with your mum. I agree, I wasn't prepared for how overwhelming this whole thing would be in terms of obsessiveness. Are you returning to work tomorrow?

Hi mor! Don't leave us! Great to hear you are doing well. Can totally believe that about gp. Good strategy for xmas!

Speaking of obsessive, my opk from lunch....

StarkyTheDirewolf · 16/12/2015 15:02

shelb my eyes are not deceiving me, I see two lines, have you checked the sensetivity levels between the okp and the prego strip? Well, I for one am excited for you!

runner sounds like you've turned a corner emotionally, I know I've been quite tightly wound with wanting to get a bfp, everything I've read says relaxing into ttc is the best way to go. Sounds like you've got a busy few weeks ahead, but you can do it!

I just realised this morning that in the midst of ttc madness, I'm just really lucky. I have a warm home, a comfy bed, enough good food to keep me fed, a wonderful truly Dh and a fantastic support system, and that if I did get two lines next month or whenever hence that I'd be fortunate enough to be extatic about it. I had a cbt session this morning and it dawned on me that in ttc, I was actually managing my anxiety quite well have been crippled with it for the past year . I've been genuinely happy excited about ttc, and I think it's made me let a lot of emotional baggage float away. Xmas Smile

That's a really positive post stark! Wine[santa] And glad your anxiety has got better too. I've been there , think a lot of women have.

Opk 20mlU, upduff ones 10

Pinklily1 · 16/12/2015 16:38

Straky - brilliant to hear, sounds like TTC is actually helping.

Shelb - that's strong! Can positive OPKs other than at ovulation time indicate pregnancy?

if I ovulated last week, which I suspect I did, then testing date is 5 days away. Otherwise it's 15 days away. Am going to try to hold off for the later date.

shelbTa · 16/12/2015 17:05

Pink its 50/50 on the Internet (shock) if you get a full blown positive opk near AF it can indicate upduff but equally some people report the exact opposite and that you get a natural rise before AF.

Been reading all about just how much progesterone can mimick upduffness, particularly first month off pill, the way I feel could easily be that - at least then I can have a booze fuelled merry Christmas time.

Fingers crossed you ovd when you thought!

LanadelLol · 16/12/2015 17:13

Giiiiiirls AF has just arrived 😩
Why am I so shocked, it's only my first month trying and I only get to spend time with DP Fri-Sun?!?!
It is quite disheartening isn't it, when you're paying attention to everything single pain and twitch in your body. X

StarkyTheDirewolf · 16/12/2015 17:14

How many days off af are you shelb ? You're due soon aren't you? Definetly keep thinking positively, either it's a Christmas bean or you can have a merry boozy Christmas!

pink do you think you might have ovd last week? Ooh it's all getting very exciting over here!

shelbTa · 16/12/2015 17:22

Ahhhhh Lana that's well shit, sorry Wine

stark not idea when actual af is due but ovia is tracking my old 28 cycle from the pill and that was two days ago. Guna feel like a right twat when af shows up after banging on like this, thanks for listening all!

shelbTa · 16/12/2015 17:24

Ps but didn't ovulate until Cd21-22

drinkyourmilk · 16/12/2015 17:29

I like your thinking stark. It's made me think about all the great things I have in my life.
Mor your DR sounds rubbish. And rude!! The IBS cover is ingenious, far better than 'watching my weight', or on antibiotics.
shelb, that's a really positive test! Squeeee for you!!
I have zero symptoms, so I'm not even bothering to test. I'm due a week today, if I don't come on then I'll do a frer.

StarkyTheDirewolf · 16/12/2015 17:30

Don't be daft shelb that is literally what we are here for! This is the place to put down all the odd twinges, waves of unexplained feeling sick, fanny juice viscosity, fart velocity, cramps, and all that jazz. We are supposed to be excited and wanting to be preggers, this is our safe place! And even if you went on and on and on and on infinity about it, and then weren't, we'd still be supportive and positive, hoping with fx for your next cycle! (But I know exactly how you feel, because I felt like that the other day!)

Dubbya · 16/12/2015 17:40

Shelb it's great to hear about what's happening with you as I'm at the same stage! Still hoping you get a bfp after all!

Sorry for af lana but at least you know your cycle is on track, fx for next month!

shelbTa · 16/12/2015 17:58

How do you feel dubb?!

Thanks stark.

Dubbya · 16/12/2015 18:06

It's weird as I was thinking I had a fair few symptoms last week but this week none really. Although (tmi) a fair bit of cm and still a bit bloaty but no cramps or anything else. Feel tired but that's usual in my job (teacher!). How's your symptoms shelb?

Snowdog37 · 16/12/2015 18:07

Keeping everything crossed for all of you who are going through the terrible "am I aren't I" ups and downs! I really hope you all get your bfp for Christmas! And if it's not meant to be, then enjoy booze and food and there's always January around the corner!
I'm 1-2dpo and already driving myself crazy. I feel really full/swollen in the uterus area like I have a full bladder but don't. It's probably all the goods my dh delivered in the last week. Feels very weird anyway. Only another 11-12 days before I can test, according to Ovia. She's giving me my first normal luteal phase in years but I'll believe it when I see it. I'm toying with using progesterone cream from tomorrow just in case. Anyone else had success using cream to help with their luteal phase?

Dubbya · 16/12/2015 18:07

Trying to hold out for testing (not having any hpt in the house helps!)

Dubbya · 16/12/2015 18:08

snow what is the cream supposed to do?

LanadelLol · 16/12/2015 18:09

Thanks for the messages everyone ☺️ Fx for everyone. If I don't get a BFP next month I will be jumping on the ovulation stick bandwagon to see what all the fuss is about!
runner seems like you have a busy bee year so hopefully you'll get a BFP to keep you in a positive frame of mind.
mor I hope your midwife is more supportive, I'm quite shocked your GP behaved that way. I must admit, mine is quite attentive to all my moans and groans. He should have at least checked your blood pressure!
Looking good shelb 👌🏼

I love your positivity starky you've always got nice things to say.

Snowdog37 · 16/12/2015 18:16

It's supposed to boost your progesterone levels a little bit if you're slightly low, and a shorter luteal phase plus some other symptoms of estrogen dominance can indicate low progesterone. My dr says my levels are ok but tend towards the lower end of normal I think so she said try the cream before trying meds. I've read lots of people have had success with it helping to maintain an early pregnancy and if you're not pregnant it helps balance your estrogen/progesterone levels which helps your cycle too.

Dubbya · 16/12/2015 18:19

Ooh, interesting, thanks snow
