All we want for Christmas is our BFP! All aboard the December Bus...

Starting the boarding for the December Bus...

My history if anyone is interested:-

DS1 in October 2012. Started ttc for dc2 last September. Got BFP in the November but MC'd at 5 weeks.
Fast forward to July, got another bfp. Started bleeding on August Bank Holiday weekend and found out we had MMC at 11 weeks. Had ERPC a week later. 5 weeks later after still getting positive hpts, found out the ERPC had been completely unsuccessful and had to have whole bloody procedure again.

Anyway. Now got my first proper period after all the above bullshit and hoping for bfp on or before the 18th December

Warning for the stupidest comment ever but here goes:

In terms of symptoms what does sore boobs actually feel like? Are they supposed to go hard and painful or is it just the nipples that get sore. Also is it very painful or just heightened sensitivity? I really don't know what to look for.

Bugmuncher · 26/11/2015 11:17

What kind of very early symptoms to people get before their BFP? Is it usually sore boobs and nausea or are there other things?

SeriousStuff · 26/11/2015 11:21

finding before my BFP with DC1, my breasts felt massive and like they were in the way, especially when sleeping on my side (which is what I have now). They feel uncomfortable and a bit sore if I press against them. Other symptoms I had back then was headaches (which I never get) and incredibly hot flushes. I remember having to strip off there and then in the living room because it felt as if I was melting!

SeriousStuff · 26/11/2015 11:24

...I had the teeniest tiniest brown stain on my knickers last night. Obviously implantation spotting right? RIGHT?!

findingmyfeet12 · 26/11/2015 11:26

Fingers crossed for you Serious.

My boobs do feel heavy but I think it's just the usual changes I go through during my cycle and nothing out of the ordinary.

Bugmuncher · 26/11/2015 11:43

How many days of EWCM do you ladies tend to get?

FuzzyOwl · 26/11/2015 12:01

Hello everyone. CD1 for me and my stats are below:

Name: FuzzyOwl
TTC: #2
Cycle: #4 (although second one properly trying)
ETD: 27 December (but I have bought myself a FRER as a Christmas present and will probably test then)

I have decided to stop taking Pregnacare this cycle and just stick with folic acid. I am certain Pregnancare makes me feel pregnant and sick, so gets my hopes up for no reason.

findingmyfeet12 · 26/11/2015 12:57

Hello FuzzyOwl - welcome.

Bug, I usually get around 3 days of ewcm. I hope that's normal.

SeriousStuff · 26/11/2015 13:15

Welcome to the madhouse Fuzzy!

Bug this cycle I had 3 days.

kittyvet · 26/11/2015 13:19

fuzzy I used to feel sick with vitamins too. I always take them with my main meal now and that solved it.

mamaneedsamojito · 26/11/2015 13:29

Personally I don't think there's much point looking for symptoms before AF arrives as you'll just drive yourself mad. When I got pregnant with DS I had tender breasts but last cycle (no BFP) I had exactly the same. I think it's related to the increase of pregesterone in your luteal phase so doesn't necessarily relate to pregnancy. The only symptom I had was extreme fatigue which kicked in around 15 DPO (I got my BFP at 16 DPO) and lasted for a 10-12 weeks. But I suspect if I'd tested at 15 DPO I'd have seen a BFP then anyway.

Celen · 26/11/2015 14:08

mimi I'm only on cd11 and my cycles are all over the place. I can ovulate anywhere between cd14 to 19 Confused That's why I rely on the digitals as I sometimes get up a week of ewcm.

Sounds like a positive sign soda!

I'd love to surprise DH with an Xmas bfp but I know we'd be very cautious about looking forward to having an actual baby in our arms after our history Sad But looking forward to hearing about how others will be surprising their OH's with potential bfp news! Grin

Bug I use evening primrose oil now becashe I used to hardly get any ewcm. Now I get about three or four days.

Good thinking about the meal kitty. I will use up my remaining ones that way and then use folic acid.

Thanks serious.

Yep mamaneed, you are right about there being no point and driving yourself mad. Although I plan to test a couple of days early this cycle, I am not going to be symptom spotting at all other than that. All other future cycles, I am just going to wait and test if AF doesn't turn up. Too expensive with tests otherwise as well!

FestiveFeline · 26/11/2015 14:12

By the way, I am FuzzyOwl but I have just name changed for Christmas - getting ready for it early!

Sodasoda · 26/11/2015 16:29

Nice name fuzzy/festive! - we're putting the Christmas tree up this weekend! Love this time of year! Usually I love all the cheese and alcohol too but will be very happy if I need to give it up for a good reason Smile

mamaneed agree that's it's best not to try and symptom spot but often easier said than done!

bug I'm not a huge noticer of CM. I do get it - probably get EWCM a couple of days but if I wasn't looking for it (every time I wipe!) then I wouldn't notice. Which is why I'm so surprised by my huge amount of thick creamy CM I'm getting at the moment! Blush

FineKnacksForLadies · 26/11/2015 16:56

Hello! Can I join in too please? Have been lurking for years and have just joined MN to join this thread :)

Name: FineKnacksForLadies
TTC: #1
Cycle: #2 (But have just come off Mirena, so first cycle had no idea if I ovulated or not!)
ETD: 6th Dec ish?

Bit of a long story, but I have Endometriosis, had a Mirena changed which introduced an infection, ended up with PID, spent a week in hospital trying to get it under control with IV antibiotics and then had emergency surgery, which left me with only one ovary and fallopian tube, so our plans to start TTC have been brought forward quite quickly! Really hoping to manage it naturally rather than embarking on aided conception journey.

Am taking Pregnacare (as is DH) charting CM and OPK with Kindara (does anyone else use this? Is there a better one I should be using!?) but can't quite get the hang of temps - any advice on what thermometer I should be using? My boots one seems a bit imprecise to be useful! Ovulated last weekend according to OPK and CM, dtd lots (!) fingers crossed….

Spotsondots · 26/11/2015 17:50

Hi all

So still a tiny bit of the brown stuff this morning but I think it's stopped now. Spoke to GP who was great and wanted me to come down to the surgery and get checked. She said I had an erosion in my cervix which could explain the bleeding but otherwise looked ok. Also said it could be implantation bleed but that it would be extremely unlikely especially as I tend to have loooong cycles. We did (TMI) DTD on CD3 though...

I also found out that my scan shows polycystic ovaries but that my bloods are normal. I am to have some CD21 (equivalent) bloods done so I am going to start temping to try to work out when that would be! I also have all the info for DH's semen analysis so he can't drag his heels anymoreHmm so quite a busy day here!

Can anyone recommend a thermometer?

Grace893 · 26/11/2015 19:23

I use ladycomp, its quite expensive but I was using it for birth control for about 18 months before TTC as my DH didnt trust me to temp myself- supposedly only a german computer would do Smile

Bugmuncher · 26/11/2015 19:39

Thanks everyone for the replies. I wasn't sure if you were just supposed to have it on one day and that's the day you OV. I sometimes have it for 5/6 days so have no idea when I OV within that time!

kittyvet · 26/11/2015 19:56

My thermometer baby mad off amazon. Take it as soon as you wake and before you move. Might help it be more consistent.

GinandJazzHands · 26/11/2015 20:10

Evening all. Wow, busy day, lots going on!
Celen - I did (another) OV test today after work and my first ever positive surge so DTD this evening and also planning on trying to jump DH first thing (he's not a morning person so this might be interesting) Grin
Jaunty - Also ordered myself a job lot of OV sticks on amazon; it's the way to go!
Bug - loving your ideas about a Christmassy way to pop the good news, fingers crossed that lots of us get to do this! Also, not a font of knowledge as this is my first cycle, I've noticed my cf has gotten clearer but not stretchy like ewcm, but ov kit says I'm surging now so who knows?!
Finding - hope all goes well for Tuesday too, keep us posted
Soda and Serious - fingers crossed on the symptoms!
Welcome FineKnacks - I'm using the ovia app but this is my first cycle so have found the OPKs more useful.
Spots - really productive day! Sending baby dust your way xx
Two questions from the newbie, for anyone with the patience to still be reading - is DPO 'days post ovulation'? And if my OPK says I'm surging today then how many days should I wait before testing for the BFP?

Kellz92 · 26/11/2015 20:13

Mimi we are, i think i could o soon as im starting to get a wee bit of pain in my lower right side and egg white cm, even though the ovulation test has no sign of a second line yet. Getting ready incase though :) xx

Grace893 · 26/11/2015 20:22

Hi Gin yep DPO is days past ovualtion and in relation to test dates, you normally ovulate about 24-48 hrs after a LH surge. Normally people say there is not much point testing untill 10 DPO and even then it might be a few days after that. You only start producing HGC once you have inplanted and it normally takes a few days for there to be enough in your body to show up on a HPT.

Sorry if thats teaching you to suck eggs but I normally think the more informaiton the better.

Spotsondots · 26/11/2015 20:58

Thanks gin yes DPO is days post ovulation.

Thanks ladies for the thermometer recommendations. Will check them out now...

Polgara25 · 26/11/2015 21:13

Thanks to this thread, I now spend a significant about of my day staring intently at my CM slathered fingers in the loo...

Not something I ever planned on doing with my life Grin

Not sure I'm brave enough to start on the temping yet.
