Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.
  5. Thou shalt not be offended by the word vagina.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others. Also known as 'the witch', 'bitch witch' and 'that one with the red shiny convertible'

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a Kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit), or PIATLH (Tea light holder), PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in! PONF = Pee on Nigel Farage (Self explanatory)

ROC = Receptacle of Choice - what one chooses to use for the task of POAS. Optional decorations include photographs of controversial political leaders.

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet or jizz in the eye. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Jizz in a bra = how we transport the jizz to the Sperm Queen

Shagging like Something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into TTC obsession. Warning - this may happen to you if you start trying to POAS at 5dpo. PUT. THE. PISSY. STICK. DOWN. IT'S TOO EARLY!

Contraband (or Cuntraband) = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

SOTM = Shagger of the Month. Awarded with varying regularity to those viroids who go above and beyond EOD shagging in pursuit of that BFP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture. AKA Schroedingering!
TWPU - Two Week Piss Up!

Keeping your gingers = fingers crossed, yet another autocorrect development! Shortened to 'gx'

Doing A Lemon = Testing WAAAAAAAY to early!

Miroid - The male compadre of a viroid

Cat - Compulsory

Skittletits - Killer molten painful tits and nipples

Ghost jizz/goat jazz - When the amazing foof sucks up all the jizz - achieved when coming at the same time/nearly the same time.

Yay kwick! Keep yourself distracted and don't test too early!
Sperm lives 5-7 days and egg 24hours tops. The overtrille will mature those eggs a bit more. Gx it works for you this go.
Fyi I was told not to swim until otd and then when I got bfp I was told not to swim until 12wk scan, also due to risk of infection. Funny how different clinics give different advice. Obviously it was ivf but I imagine it's the same sort of tube! Consultant also struggled to get through my mucus at embryo transfer. He had to fight that and my muscles insisting on pushing the speculum out!

honeysucklejasmine · 03/01/2016 20:35

Hi Lillian, welcome!

ChatEnOeuf · 03/01/2016 21:16

Welcome Lillian - sorry to hear of your mc.

GX Kwick

Glad it's all clear on scan, Corgi - don't work until you're ready.

justtheonethen · 03/01/2016 21:38

Welcome lillian Smile

Ain626 · 03/01/2016 22:47

Hey Lillian welcome to the Fred. Smile

I'm in bed with tummy pains and feeling a bit sick.. the pains are a bit high to be related to anything.. feels like roughly in line with my belly button, maybe just below.. need a hooyah for symptom spotting though. I'm on cd 28. I'm hoping by any small chance this is somehow relating to af showing up or something equally as positive. Some sort of sign that my womble is working...

Of course it could just be dreading going to work tomorrow...

Ain626 · 03/01/2016 22:49

Oh corgi Sad I'm glad the scan came back clear for you but must be tough. Take your time recuperating. Flowers

SockQueen · 04/01/2016 07:36

Viroids, I am a twat.

I POAS this morning. Then just as it was coming up to time to read it, I knocked the damn stick into the toilet. Shock I fished it out and dried it off, and there was definitely the faintest of faint lines on there, but now I have no idea if it's an actual line or related to its little bath. And I'm off to work for a long day now, so can't do anything about it until tonight, by which time I might as well wait for FMU tomorrow.

Please keep your gingers crossed for me being less clumsy tomorrow!

5hell · 04/01/2016 11:47

happy 2016 shaggers! Grin and hello to all the newbs waves
hope everyone got lots of lovely things for xmas materialistic, moi?!

sock is AF late? (hopefully) ...just keep everything crossed and POAS tomorrow am, if you dont do FMU and it's negative you will still want to poas tomorrow too, and i am a great advocate of pissing as late as bearable goodytwoshoes that i am

ChatEnOeuf · 04/01/2016 13:26

Ooh, Sock! How exciting!

LondonGirl83 · 04/01/2016 14:13

How exciting sock! I'd have to retest immediately but waiting for fmu is smart!

Welcome lilian! Sorry about your mc - a lot of us have been there...

Corgi glad to hear the worst of the physical part is behind you. Take care of yourself

kwik Gx for your iui! Your gp sounds like a bit of a fool!

I'm still on AF but am going to get my thyroid tested tomorrow. My body temperture is quite low and that combined with the severe constipation and weird 20 pound weight gain make me want to check everything is okay, especially as it can impact fertility.

Kwick709 · 04/01/2016 14:57

Welcome Lilian I am very new to the fred but I can assure you these viroids are the best!

Sock are you are sure you are not my long lost twin sister? - your mishap sounds exactly like something I would do. Another reason (apart from poor aim) to PIAR so you have some liquid left to retest?

Thanks to everyone for their well wishes. Today has been nice - I do not go back to work until tomorrow.. Was hoping for a gradual re-entry but just peeked at my diary and I am in back to back meetings ALL day :(

I have eaten pineapple, done a conception enducing yoga pose, kept feet and kidneys warm...what else should I be doing? could not find anything funny to watch... Does coughing count?

Anyone heard of taking CoQ10?

Lil I think I read that frozen and washed sperm lasts a lot less... Anyway guess not so important as the egg only lasts 24 hours. So now it is just a waiting game... Probably a good thing I will be so busy tomorrow...

justtheonethen · 04/01/2016 17:11

I take coq-10, 300mg per day. Helps with egg quality I think. As with anything I think you have to take for 3 months before getting any benefit.

sock eeeeeep Grin

corgi88 · 04/01/2016 17:15

Oooh sock this is so exciting! Gx. Gx also for kwick.
Welcome Lillian, sorry to hear about your mc. Mine seems to be over the worst now but was a grim experience.
Viroids, can I ask those of you who have been unfortunate to have mcs: when did you start trying again? Lady at EPAC said to wait for next period, because of issues with dating/positive tests etc. Which soubds like perfectly good advice. Except DH hates condoms and I would quite like to crack back on with shagging. (Also as true js'er cannot bear thought of wasting a cycle.) Bleeding has pretty much stopped now. Thoughts?

corgi88 · 04/01/2016 17:18

Also work have been lovely and covered my two on calls today and tomorrow. Dh and I got bored of looking at each other glumly so walked up dog to pub and had pints and chips. Whoohoo not tipsy

honeysucklejasmine · 04/01/2016 17:32

Corgi we started straight away. I am sure that La got pregnant again immediately, and maybe Niff? Perhaps pop over and ask on grads too. The only problem it can cause is slight date uncertainty, but that'll be solved by 12 week scan.

Glad your work has been good to you. Flowers

ChatEnOeuf · 04/01/2016 17:48

Glad work are being kind Corgi. We didn't wait either. Once bleeding stopped I treated it as a new cycle and got back on it. Icing is unpredictable - they don't call it the wtf cycle for nothing. Mine were both about week or so longer than normal. So testing can be a minefield (Ref: October 2014), as can dating - but that can get you an early scan Grin

angelazul · 04/01/2016 18:23

Hey vidroids, hope you all have a great Christmas & new year.

So, I kinda fell off the fread. Tbh, my head & emotions were all over the show after last cycle, so this cycle I've been playing it cool, shagging when we feel like it, no tracking or monitoring. And I think it's done the world of good, I feel a lot more relaxed than I have since we started ttc & a whole lot more positive, gx it continues Grin Currently on cd 25 & not really sure when to expect the witch, but I'm fine with that atm.

Welcome to the newbies, you're in good hands with the vidroids.

Gx for anyone in twot or due to test.

London I have underactive thyroid, those sound very like my symptoms, although everyone is different. Good idea to get it tested, even if just to rule it out.

LondonGirl83 · 04/01/2016 20:57

corgi we started straight away. My first cycle was crazy long and weird though so don't let all of that screw with your head. I knew dating could be an issue with the first cycle because of icing timing being harder to determine which is when / why I started using OPKs. Once I started though I continued to as I like science :)

angel thanks for that. I've never had any chronic health issues (knock on wood) so I'm kind of hoping they tell me I need warm socks, less cakes and more fibre and am just a hypochondriac! Still, I know that something is really wrong hormonally and its getting worse so it can't be ignored any longer. Angelazul are you on medication for yours?

5hell · 04/01/2016 21:46

You sound like you're coping so well corgi Flowers Cake Brew
we waited until after a normal af to ttc again as I couldn't handle the uncertainty of wtf cycle length etc and would have been a bit fragile/terrified if we'd got a bfp so soon too I think

Gx for your fmu sock

angelazul · 04/01/2016 22:18

London I take 125mcg thyroxine daily, which is a relatively low dose, & have levels checked every year. I was diagnosed about 15 years ago, took a bit of time to get the dosage right initially, but once that was sorted, it's been more or less stable since then.

If diagnosed & treated, it's not something to worry about too much - I still feel the cold more than most others, can get tired easily if I burn the candle at both ends, & shifting the weight can be harder, but on the whole, it's not something that impacts on my life a lot.

HTH

honeysucklejasmine · 04/01/2016 22:28

Agree with everything Angel said, except my numbers are different. (10 years 100mcg)

LillianFullStop · 04/01/2016 22:41

thanks for the warm welcome all!

corgi88 i was advised to wait at least 2 cycles - it was more to be sure about dates and not a physical reason. DH and I agreed on waiting until the end of the year (3 cycles for us) mainly to let ourselves heal emotionally. what ever is right for you.

SockQueen · 04/01/2016 23:07

5hell it's CD 47 here, but I'm on Clomid and know that I didn't ice when I was supposed to (14-17ish). I think I possibly did two weeks ago, hence testing now. Trying very hard not to get over-excited and that it was probably just a glitch.

Kwick I did PIAR, but got rid of it too soon! Then I was in a rush to get out for work so didn't have time to retest. I will obviously update you all tomorrow.

FeatheredTail · 04/01/2016 23:10

Just nipping in to say hi to new faces and to give Corgi a quick hug. We got going immediately after MC - bleeding was on/off for weeks on end and it took ages to be sure it was actually over. I conceived again after my first proper period post MC. Dates - MC started on 14 June and my post MC conception shag (yep, I love the contraband/thermometers/charts) was on 26 August. GX you're over the worst.

Will be hovering around tomorrow morning to check out Sock's FMU piss stick session! Exciting!

Epilepsyhelp · 04/01/2016 23:30

Just POAS at 8dpo.. Funnily enough BFN!!

Excited for you though sock Grin
