Brooking for you here.

I'd show you a snow pic but ours is the wet and clear variety #pissingitdownagain

Imps9 · 19/01/2016 11:33

This is part of the hill at the very bottom of which we had to leave the car (luckily it is parked where we were staying rather than abandoned on the side of a road). 4x4s couldn't make it up the hill - we stood no chance whatsoever in our rear wheel drive!

One embie on board

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 19/01/2016 13:33

Fingers crossed for a bfp in about 9 days then keep?

Beedle hope all goes well with you today.

Imps, sorry re AF but fingers crossed for IVF, when will you start? Re adoption, I think the same rule applies across the country that there needs to be a clear break between ttc and starting the adoption process. So if you do go down that route you won't be able to start it immediately, but I know someone who applied and 12 months later they were approved as a match for a 2 year old girl and it was very quick after that that the girl moved in with them, like a couple of weeks.

As for me, cervical mucus appeared over the weekend and is plentiful this week, so the clomid hasn't affected me as badly as I feared....Sod's law I'd already ordered an expensive bottle of pressed online by this stage....anyhow we had a DTD fail on Sunday, but DH perservered last night and we had a successful DTD late last night so pressure is now off him. Had final follicle tracking scan today, lining somewhere between 8-9mm which consultant said is good, and the follicle on left ovary is now 18mm so will ovulate and he said should be Wed or at the latest Thursday. So the sperm will be 3 days old at most and that's if I ovulate late on the Thursday evening. So fingers crossed there should be no issues over sperm meeting egg, just no idea if it will be a sticky bfp at the end of it or not.

I am also PUPO, OTD not until the 1st Feb Shock and they said we won't know if we're in the study until the first scan at 7 weeks more Shock . Home now and resting after some more snow clearing!

keepitgoing · 19/01/2016 15:26

Yay beedle Grin mine is the 28th, is 14dpec

Imps9 · 19/01/2016 15:51

Yaaaaay to the two PUPOs!! Sorry you didn't get frosties Keep - it's a bit gutting isn't it but this one will be the one.

Just spoke to the andrologist. He said that the embryologist thinks IMSI is best and has also suggested Eeva ( info - I need to make an appointment with a gynacologist to see if we are allowed to pay to add this on to NHS treatment (it might be available to privately paying patients only).

I have left a message to arrange an appt, so hopefully we will get one in the diary soon.

All sounds positive there Loops! Any chance of more Sexy Time between now and Thurs?

keepitgoing · 19/01/2016 16:21

I didn't realise you had another nhs round imps Smile

Imps9 · 19/01/2016 16:49

Yes - you still got 3 goes when we were referred. It's been reduced to two now. We're so lucky. Can't believe some areas get no NHS treatments at all.

keepitgoing · 19/01/2016 17:15

That's great, is it your last one then? You won't be needing the big expensive choice then - I'm brooking no argument.

Imps9 · 19/01/2016 17:46

Yes this is the last one - we're paying for a couple of add-ons. Apparently it is only recently that clinics were allowed to offer paid extras to couples having NHS funded treatment - you either had to have the basic NHS care or had to pay for private care, there was no choice to pay for add-ons (eg IMSI). Apparently not everything can be paid for as an extra, by the gynacologist will be able to let us know if we can top up with Eeva.

Imps9 · 19/01/2016 17:52

Oh I saw a client today, who's become quite a good friend. She and her husband tried for 3 years for a baby and had multiple miscarriages - they were referred for IVF only to get a FUFC BFP and their son is now 2.5. Anyway, she told me today that her husband has been having an affair since ye summer and has now left her - apparently my friend was "paying more attention to their son than to him and she pushed him to have an affair" Confused Hmm. What an absolute twatty twazzock. Imagine going through all that hard work to have a baby only for the father to end up resenting it. Sad times.

Imps9 · 19/01/2016 17:55

And Mol where are you?? How are you feeling today?

Imps9 · 19/01/2016 17:59

Oh and another thing - I think I was in Brooker mode when talking to the andrologist as I said to him "we might as well try IMSI and Eeva to see how we get on before resorting to hacking Mr Imps bollocks to bits." Oops - probably not the most appropriate way to describe his job Blush

QueenMolotov · 19/01/2016 20:02

Hello Imps, I'm still here! Thanks for that awesome knuckle-cracking stuff earlier Smile

I'm feeling okay, thank-you. The shock is wearing off a little, thankfully. I guess having a wobble is natural, considering the anxieties and "gremlins" I had which held me back in the first place and thinking of a repeat ELCS. But, everything will all fall into place, I'm sure, and let's not forget that a lovely little baby will be the end result!

My parents were thrilled overall, but I think my DM was a bit Shock She did say that she would have had 6 children, if she could have (I'm an OC).

Feeling quite sick and my appetite has dwindled, but I'm eating very bland food little and often. I'm also needing to pee more ew! TMI!

My quandary atm is deciding where to actually give birth. I had an unpleasant birth experience with dd1 where I damaged my tailbone (it's never been the same since), so I requested an ELCS for dd2 (for this same reason, and the fact I've had one CS, and that this will be our last baby), I think I'd prefer to go with the more predictable odds of a repeat ELCS. Anyway, dd2's consultant eventually agreed, but it was a horrible process getting it agreed and I don't want to fight for one again.

That said, I had a good ELCS, no infections and I healed really well. So, do I go back to that hospital and request the same consultant (feel a bit wobbly about facing him again), or same hospital under a different consultant? Or should I go somewhere else? In that case, I'd have to go and have a look before booking in with a midwife.

I hope no-one minds me raising these thoughts here. Please just say if you do.

Brooking for keep and Beedles. I'll be watching the thread and looking out for any news!

OP posts:
BeedlesPineNeedles · 20/01/2016 06:31

Don't worry mol its fine to stay here a while. I can't really help with what you should do about choosing a Consultant or requesting an ELCS but someone else might know. Feeling sick is great, sort of!

imps is Eeva like using an embryoscope with a few extras to work out which is best?

I forgot to say ýesterday, our little blasto was starting to hatch, they showed us it on the screen before they transferred it. Oh and another advantage of going private - they had warmed the ultrasound gel Before they put it on my tummy!

keepitgoing · 20/01/2016 08:08

Mine was still cold beedle! Great news about your blast hatching!

imps eeva sounds like our embryoscope - we decided not to pay the £600 odd extra as the evidence is quite dubious. In the end we only had one decent blast so it wouldn't have helped the choice, though I guess they would say the embies may have been damaged by the checking? We thought we'd rather save the money towards the next round if needed

Your friend's ex is an absolute fucking twat!! Honestly. I just can't imagine how anyone could leave their child

loopy hope you've had some more rat smacking ;)

mol you're welcome to stay. I think it's a little early to worry about the birth?? I'd go to the most convenient hospital and get a different consultant if you want. But plenty of time for all that

Imps9 · 20/01/2016 08:11

Mol it's absolutely fine - we're here to support with any doubts and worries. That's what being a Brooker is all about. I saw go with the same hospital and same consultant - you convinced him/her (I can't remember which it was!) last time and will do it again. Another consultant may not be persuaded.

Oooooh a hatcher Beedles!! I always imagine that they must look like little chicks hatching out of an egg, all damp feathers and beak. They probably don't look like that though.

I don't know exactly what the difference between Eeva and an embryoscope is, but the website says that BH is one of only 5 clinics in the country to use it and it does improve their success rates. It sounds like it photographs the embryos every 5 minutes and predicts which embryo is viable. Only concern is that by using that they may conclude that no embryos are viable, given Mr Imps' sperm problems. I suppose though at least we'd then know.

Chilly morning this morning and no sun. Would love to stay at home by the fire all day but no such luck.

BeedlesPineNeedles · 20/01/2016 09:00

imps I thought all embryoscopes took regular photos, maybe its just the prediction of which is best that's different. There were no beaks or feathers visible, it was just a Little blob sticking out . Part of me wonders if maybe had a little help because they stuck a needle in to take a few cells...

Cold and sunny here, and still looking absolutely Beautiful outside - no problems getting to work today!

Imps9 · 20/01/2016 09:29

Hmmmm yes I really don't know what the difference is between Eeva and embryoscope. Probably just a brand name.

Have you tested yet? Have you have you have you???

BeedlesPineNeedles · 20/01/2016 09:49

:o imps perhaps I should start a thread wondering if my slightly achy upper back is a sign of pregnancy - I Think it is a sign of shovelling too much snow yesterday! No real symptoms to report yet.

I Think I will probably test next wednesday 13dpo and Cd25. MrB doesn't want me to test until OTD, I pointed we will know long Before then. I have a FRER ready and waiting, and the clinic gave me a CB non-digital for the official test!

Imps9 · 20/01/2016 10:11

Waiting until 1 Feb is just daft and pointless. The clinic must know that everyone will test before the OTD!

QueenMolotov · 20/01/2016 10:14

Thanks everyone Smile I appreciate that.

keep is right: it is very early days. I am thinking about which hospital now though, because I would like to have my mind made up by the time I have my first midwife appointment (usually between 8-10w, so still a month or so away) and request where to go.

And I hadn't thought of it like that, Imps, thank-you for offering that perspective.

keepitgoing · 20/01/2016 10:33

We are supposed to take a wee sample into clinic on the 28th and I have an appointment booked. Very odd. Not sure I'd bother going in if bfn? Just ordering some frer... Beedle I'm thinking of testing on wed too

imps I agree it's just the brand name. Personally I can only see the use if you have loads of good blasts to choose from, but show me the evidence, if it could help I'd be v happy!
