Squinters on FRER 5 days in a row. What is going on?

We'be been Ttc for a year on and off. On Saturday I noticed a tiny drop of blood when I wiped but AF was not due till yesterday. This seemed a bit odd and I suspected IB so I decided to take a test. A squinter appeared, this is the first BFP I get in my life!

I have been testing every day since Saturday and the line doesn't seem to get any darker (nor lighter) but is so faint that just early response tests will pick it up . I have tried frer, boots and superdrug so far, all of them are coming back with the faintest line ever.

Has anybody had a simmilar experience? Should I prepare myself for the worst and wait for the arrival of AF? Should I call the doctors? Should I just chill out and wait for next week to see what happens? I think that I am about to lose the plot!!

post a picture x

Loki17 · 04/11/2015 21:35

You need to wait and see. Sorry, worst advice ever!

txipi · 04/11/2015 21:57

Thanks anyway Loki! I thought that the lines should had gone dark by now..

Here you go a picture wantingno2 these are the boots ones, from the last 3 days. As you can see the lines are not getting darker at all..

Just wait and see I think - my docs wouldn't do anything except a pregnancy test at that stage. If AF wasn't due til yesterday it may be that you've ovd later.

Northernlight22 · 04/11/2015 21:59

By that I mean it may be earlier in your cycle than normal!

Northernlight22 · 04/11/2015 22:00

wantingno2 · 04/11/2015 22:01

ow yes I see it now definitely looks posative x

Junosmum · 04/11/2015 22:05

I sees 'em

wantingno2 · 04/11/2015 22:07

They never really get dark on the Internet cheapies have you used any other brand x

txipi · 04/11/2015 22:08

Thanks both!! I'm just worried about them being so faint and getting bfn o not very sensitive tests!! I think that I need to chill out and wait as you've said is just that the last 5 days have been a real torture!! I think that this whole year waiting for a BFP has taken all my patience already! - Not that I had much of it to start with..

Good luck it definitely looks positive to me x

txipi · 04/11/2015 22:11

That's actually the Boots ones, I have also done first response all of them come with a really faint line and superdrug come with a line too. If the tests are early response or very sensitive will come back with a line but the test that are not as sensitive I.e clearblue give me bfn. I know that I am pregnant I am just concerned about the lines being so faint and having a miscarriage I suppose...

I will be 8 dpo tomorrow I'm currently fighting the urge not to test I hate the 2ww x

MicheleWeinberger · 04/11/2015 22:23

My test were like yours quite faint. They didn't get darker and appear instantly until about 5 days or a week after my period was due. The faint line is now in his cot sleeping so try not to stress too much. Easier said than done I know maybe do a clear blue digi it feels better to see the words pregnant sometimes.

txipi · 04/11/2015 22:27

Thanks Michele! Is nice to hear that your little faint line is sleeping Smile I've tried clearblue but since is not very sensitive has come back with "non-pregnant" which has broke my heart... Is all matter of waiting I guess but at least stories like yours give me hope!!

Just remember the CB digital test isn't as sensitive as frer (think it's 25ui/ml compared to 10ui/ml for frer and most internet cheapies) so, even if you get a faint positive test on frer/if you could well get negative on CB tests simply because you haven't got enough hormone in your urine at that point. Even on their own packaging CB say that 2% of pregnant women don't get a positive the day before af is due so there is a margin for error!!

MicheleWeinberger · 05/11/2015 23:14

Like pp said the clear blues aren't as sensitive so try not worry. The other tests had visible lines so there must be hcg. Are you using first morning urine and not drinking too much fluid before testing? Are you getting any other symptoms?

txipi · 05/11/2015 23:59

Yes, fmu and sometimes I also test in the afternoons. As you can tell I'm a bit obsessed! Today the line seemed a tad darker. I think that I feel better after having some reassurance here. Not many symptoms, I feel a bit nauseous sometimes and my lower back is sore too but that's about it... I read about ectopic pregnancies too, perhaps I should get an appointment with the GP next week if I keep having faint lines

I was the same. Obsessed. It wouldn't hurt to speak to your gp, maybe speak to your local early pregnancy clinic. Hopefully they will be helpful and understanding. Especially if you get bleeding or any pain. I've had 2 ectopic pregnancies before my last successful pregnancy but I had bleeding and pain. Pain was on one side. Sounds good your test is darker and its good your getting some symptoms. All positive signs. Such a stressful worrying time I remember it well.

MicheleWeinberger · 06/11/2015 15:26

I would have mentioned ectopic in my previous posts but didn't want to worry you unnecessarily. Try to enjoy your weekend though. Take your mind of it all somehow. Do something fun Smile.
