Does this count?? It's faint but came up quite quickly. Never had a BFN before so no idea if it should be stronger on a frer! It's clearer in reality, the photo males it slightly more faint.

SharyBobbins · 23/12/2015 08:39

There's a line!! Even OH agrees!! Congratulations!!!

mrsmugoo · 23/12/2015 09:13

A line's a line! Congratulations!!

Maybe try a digital test in 2 or 3 days?

mrsmugoo · 23/12/2015 09:17

Oh I forgot you're only 10dpo so bound to be feint - should definitely darken up over the next week :)

FuzzyOwl · 23/12/2015 10:59

Congratulations MrsRose and what a fab Christmas present. That is a definite line. Xmas Grin

FuzzyOwl · 23/12/2015 11:01

I (think I) am 9pdo (but it might be 8dpo) and tested with an IC and got a BFN. Am going to use a FRER tomorrow and also Christmas Day if AF hasn't arrived. Depending on how many dpo I am, she will either turn up on Friday or Saturday.

mrsrose33 · 23/12/2015 13:01

I'm in a state of shock - to be honest I don't fully believe it's actually positive! I was only told a week ago that my thin lining would be an issue! I don't really expect it to stick because of my lining but if it doesn't at least I know I can actually conceive which is a relief whatever happens.

I had such a vivid dream last night that I woke up to the heaviest period of my life (like a crime scene) that I fully expected to come on today. I only did a test last night because I was nearly sick while wrapping presents. I've been queasy and woozy on and off all day. I think I'll be testing every day for a bit to make sure!

I really really hope that all of you get your BFPs too - you're such a lovely bunch. I haven't been on this forum very long and you've all been so nice and supportive :)

sunshinegirl12 · 23/12/2015 13:42

Ah Mrsrose, hopefully you'll stick around and let us know how you're getting on. Must be the perfect christmas surprise for you.Smile

I'm feeling a bit negative today, think its that I'm pretty much at the year mark and I never expected to reach this point with absolutely nothing. I'm trying to keep my mind busy with nice plans for next year but then a horrible little thought creeps in that what if I never get lucky. Sad

mrsrose33 · 23/12/2015 14:07

I will definitely stick around :)

I totally understand why you feel negative as it can feel so hopeless at times. Especially when you think about how little control we have over what happens. However, if af has not appeared yet there is still hope (I know thats not much consolation as the waiting is just awful). I'm not sure of your background in terms of ttc, apart from the short luteal phase issue - do you know of any other issues you might have? Also, would progesterone suppositories potentially help with lengthening your luteal phase?

mrsrose33 · 23/12/2015 14:10

I meant pessaries sorry

mrsrose33 · 23/12/2015 14:15

Also this month was my first month using a Clear Blue Fertility Monitor which I bought off Ebay for like £15. My friend also got pregnant the first month she used hers (although sadly miscarried not long after) but it seems to have good odds so far! It's the older style one, not the one with the digital touch screen. Worth a think about as it really does pinpoint the peak fertility days, better than opks.

sunshinegirl12 · 23/12/2015 15:03

Mrsrose, I have thought about buying one but how does it show different fertile days to OPKs? I might have to buy one.

I've had day 3 and 21 bloods, and DH has had SA and everything is ok. I only have a 10 day luteal phase so it is on the short side, am currently waiting for my fertility appointment which I'll chase up in the new year, but if they aren't much help I think we'll end up going private. It's the not knowing that is so frustrating, but hopefully 2016 will bring better things. Smilexx

mrsrose33 · 23/12/2015 15:17

Sunshine, I was using just OPKs for months. This month I had a really mad cycle and didn't ovulate until day 25 in the end. During that time I had positive opks at 3 different times during the month only to go negative again, but the monitor only showed "Peak" once (on days 24 and 25) and my temps show I ovulated on day 25. Had I not been using the monitor I might have thought the first opk was when I ovulated and I would have missed the window. I'm taking my temps as well but my sleep patterns aren't good so going by temps alone isn't always clear for me.

My body clearly had multiple attempts to ovulate this month, but the monitor could identify which time was the actual time it was going to happen - I guess because it can read the LH surge better? All I know is it seems to have worked for me.

For all you know you might just be missing your fertile days without knowing it!

mascaraisamust · 23/12/2015 17:03

Mrsrose congratulations!!

I can't button any of my trousers Hmm this is #1 for me, surely I shouldn't be so big! Hoping it's all bloat!

Shary they will go off the date of your last missed period until your 12 week scan. I'll be 12+3 when I have my scan now as opposed to 14+6. Glad I had a reassurance scan Shary, even when I doubt this is real I just think back to last week.

sunshinegirl12 · 23/12/2015 18:22

Thanks mrsrose, you've convinced me. When in my cycle do I start to use it though as I'm away quite alot over the next 6 weeks so it may not be practical to carry round with me? x

SharyBobbins · 23/12/2015 18:48

Thanks Mascara, that was the 4th November which according to a due date calendar on the internet would make me 7 weeks?! Certainly doesn't sound right!

Sunshine12 I hated my CBAFM! I really wish I hadn't bought it as I found IC OPKs to be much more reliable. Once the monitor has detected the hormones it's looking for it gives you a high reading everyday. I didn't like that fact that it had a 'memory' if you know what I mean. I got a couple of false positives because of that so I ended up not trusting it Xmas Hmm

sunshinegirl12 · 23/12/2015 20:01

Thanks Shary, it seems to be one of those things people either love or hate. I have started bidding on one on Ebay now, its hard not to get carried away!! Smile

mrsrose33 · 23/12/2015 20:49

Shary I find that really interesting - mine was spot on. How many months did you try it for? I got 5 high readings then 2 peak then back down to one day of high so it seemed to work fine for me.

Sunshine, when your monitor arrives you need to check it's been reset from the last person. Then if your period starts in the morning you press the "M" button on the front around the time you want to do the tests every day. That tells the monitor you're on day one. If your period starts in the evening or overnight then you press M the next morning - again around the time you'd want to test every day (you can test 3 hours either side of that). Then on day 6 (I think once it gets to know your cycle that day will change) it starts asking you to test. You test every morning from then until you get your peak reading and it goes back down to high or low. Stick with it, I was worried mine wasn't working as I kept getting low readings, but it was because my cycle was extra long.

Also if you're away it shouldn't be a problem to take the monitor, its quite small and easily fits in a bag. I hope it works for you if you get one!

Sunshinegirl2015 · 23/12/2015 21:38

Wow congrats on the BFP amazing news!

Sunshine hope you win the monitor. We will get our bfps soon I'm sure. Spent today with my cousin and her two month old and tomorrow I'm spending it with my friend and her 4 month old. They both know I'm ttc and I keep thinking it would be nice for my kid to grow up with theirs. Shows what that medium knew - she said I was super fertile haha!

FuzzyOwl · 23/12/2015 21:59

Really hope your monitor works for you Sunshine. I was on the cusp of getting one last time I was ttc but got pregnant with Clearblue dual hormone OPKs, despite the, giving me nine consecutive flashing smiles - to be fair, with the amount of dtd it made us so, we had to get lucky!

Glad you will stick around mrsrose and I hope it is starting to sink in a little more now.

mascara I bloated enormously in the first trimester when I was pregnant and then it all disappeared and thanks to food aversions and constant nausea ended up weighing the same as my BFP until I was almost six months then I really made up for it. Hope it is all still going well for you.

sunshinegirl12 · 23/12/2015 22:35

I'm due AF tomorrow so even if I win it I won't have it in time for next cycle but atleast it'll be there for when/if I do need it. I'm 10dpo today and haven't had my usual spotting, just one little wipe at 8 and 9dpo, so although I can feel AF on the way atleast thats one positive thing.

Ah Sunshine, maybe you will be super fertile, you could still end up with plenty of little ones Smile

Mrsrose, how are you feeling now? xx

mrsrose33 · 23/12/2015 22:42

Thanks Fuzzy and Sunshine2015 :)

Sunshine12 I've been having period type pains and I got a bfp so don't rule yourself out yet :)

I don't think it's sunk in at all yet, I'm so worried that my lining will mean I'll start bleeding any time soon! I'm going to test again tomorrow but I keep envisioning it'll be negative lol. I've felt woozy all day and have been really ditzy and forgetful - it's really weird. Haven't had much queasiness this evening, don't know if I should be worried about that - I like the queasiness as it confirms for me that it's true! Had cramps and headaches too, no idea whats normal and what's not xx
