Although I used to ovulate on CD21-23 and only had a 9day LP.

Good luck tomorrow sunshine X

Hi everyone, just catching up. I think my forum notifications randomly switch themselves off occasionally.

Good to hear how you're all progessing. I was going to post yesterday about my blood test but I'm glad I didn't as I know sunshinegirl12 finds them difficult too! Hope your bloods were ok today. I had a student nurse do mine at the sexual health clinic yesterday and it was awful, I cried and then she cried and the senior nurse had to take over! I feel terrible for knocking her confidence!

I'm on 6dpo, CD26, expecting AF at the weekend. I also had my day 21 progesterone this month, and I did have it on day 21 even though I hadn't ovulated as I feel like trying to explain a short LP to a GP is like banging your head against a brick wall, at least if it looks like I'm not ovulating it might be something they recognise and do something about... here's hoping.

Hope you got some answers mrsunsure123

sunshinegirl12 · 26/11/2015 17:53

Oh no, sorry to hear you had a bad experience Bear. Mine was horrible too, think it was the worst I've had. The needle really hurt me and there was alot of blood, then when I left I nearly passed out so had to go for a sit down in Greggs with everyone looking at me!! But managed to hold back the tears which is a first for me, though now my fear is worse than ever!!

Goodluck at your appt Mrsunsure.

Hope everyone else is ok xx

iamabear · 26/11/2015 18:15

Oh sunshinegirl12, poor you! It really does seem to depend so much on the nurse. I think I might go to the specialist department at the hospital from now on.

When I was reading all of your updates, I'm beginning to think that we don't dtd for long enough... we normally do it last on the day of my +opk as I feel at my least sexy in the few days after that! I always feel really bloated with sore boobs... does this happen to anyone else?! I think next month we'll have to try it anyway...

I'm finding it really hard to stay focussed at work. I feel like my career drive has gone in to free fall since we've been TTC. I've really taken my eye off the ball but TTC feels like a full time job at the moment what with the googling, appointments, poas, dtd etc!!

SharyBobbins · 26/11/2015 18:54

Hi ladies, my appointment didn't go as expected! I thought I was seeing a gynaecologist to discuss possible PCOS but it turns out it was a fertility appointment for me & OH. We had no idea that's what we were there for! It's a good job OH had come with me! They did more bloods, swabs, internal examination and height & weight measurements. The nurse warned me that if we were to have IVF in the future I'd have to increase my BMI as it's just under what the guidelines dictate. Next step is another SA for OH (as he's now classed as their patient too) & a scan for me. I have to wait for my next period to book this though. The doctor was lovely (and pregnant!!!) and gave us info on who our consultant would be. She did say that after all the tests we will have to keep trying for a couple of months before any treatment though, I guess that night be because we were referred before the 12 month mark Hmm

mascaraisamust · 26/11/2015 19:07

That's positive though Shary! So pleased you are getting help xx

Bear, I had said to the nurse how scared I was and she told me she was extra gentle as she has a bad fear of needles too Confused I know I've got to have another soon too for the sexual health screening, arghh!! I also know what you mean about taking your eye off the ball, not so much with work for me but socially I just can't seem to be bothered seeing certain friends Sad

Glad appt went well Shary, did they say what treatment they might give you? x

So pleased to hear your finally getting somewhere Mrsunsure. I'm sorry I've probably asked before, but did your day 21 bloods show you had low progesterone? x

mascaraisamust · 26/11/2015 19:47

Brilliant Mrs!!

Fantastic Mrs!! Smile

Not sure what treatment (if any) yet, I think it'll depend on what the scan reveals.

Just to add to the confusion of today, tonight I've had 2 positive opks?! On day 23?! That's super early for me! Hmm

It's next Wednesday :)

mascaraisamust · 27/11/2015 17:39

Mrsunsure my progesterone was nhs, had to battle to get it but though. I was seen by the gynae/fertility nurse who then spoke to a consultant. Appointment took two weeks to come through and was about four weeks later, got cancelled and rebooked four weeks later.

Mrs bet you can't wait for the scan! I Can't wait for my early one, literally crossing off the days to it. 6 weeks tomorrow Smile Only another 1 and a bit weeks to get past where I mc last time... No symptoms apart from the soreness still but taking each days in its stride.

Hope everyone is ok!

I'd only had day 21 tests and they prescribed based on my facts and the mc. Think they were shocked by how much research I'd done and how much I knew.

Just had the most painful lower stomach pain. Like stabbing. Lasted a few mins. Actually took my breath away. Hope all is ok Sad

I've had 3 lots of day 21 bloods done and all were done on the wrong days (thanks NHS) and so all showed (wrongly) that I hadn't ovulated (single figures progesterone levels) but EVEN THEN the stupid GP just wrote it off as "one of those things" and oh, "it happens" and was probably due to stress and anxiety brought on by temping and OPKs. HmmHmmHmm

It took the private doctor about 2 minutes with an internal scan to see ripe follicles in my ovaries on day 20 and an immediate diagnosis of luteal phase defect (which apparently doesn't exist on the NHS, if you ovulate at all you can get pregnant they say)

My mind still boggles over how fucking clueless the so-called family planning specialist was at my surgery. I still get angry thinking about it - more on behalf of those who's chances of pregnancy have probably been ruined by her misinformation Angry
