When to expect period - Provera

EllaMenoPea · 06/10/2015 09:42

As above really. I finished 5 days of Provera on Saturday to induce a bleed to start Clomid. When should I expect a period? Just wondering if anyone has any experiences. Google is telling me lots of different times. Getting impatient Blush

Do you think that I should still test, even though my bloods said a measly 1.2? We have had a chat & decided to continue with DTD every other day until AF comes to visit.

We've worked out that when I'd thought I'd ovulated, we've missed 3 'sessions' over a 6 day period.

YouBoggleMyMind · 19/05/2016 15:30

Sperm can hang around for 5 days. You may have ovulated late so the blood test won't be accurate. You aren't out until AF turns up bean. Xx

AmyC86 · 19/05/2016 18:03

Thanks xx we're would i be without you xx

YouBoggleMyMind · 19/05/2016 18:37

Anytime amy we stick together in this thread.

Metformin has made my tummy proper dodgy tonight Sad no Zumba for me.

eskimoflo · 19/05/2016 19:27

Boggle Hurrah for AF coming so that you can start another round of clomid and get going again! Hope you're in 'full flow' soon Grin and that your tummy gets better too.

Shout out to Ella Any news my lovely?

Amy We all know that feeling that a really low progesterone score can give. Flowers Flowers Don't give up and keep at it. Things happen when you least expect them to.

How are you doing Moomin? Good I hope.

Wave to Robber even though you're offline. Hope meeting the deadlines isn't too gruelling and that you have a fab trip away. Grin

Yesterday, I had my 24 week midwife appointment and strangely, just before we set off for it, my body decided to bleed. Sad After I'd been to the loo to produce my urine sample, I wiped and there was bright red blood on the tissue- at least a couple of big drops. So we went to the appointment and I told her and she booked me straight into the ante-natal day unit at the hospital. Before I went, she listened to baby's heartbeat which was still good and strong, which was a relief. Anyway, we went to the hospital and we were there for 3 hours! Shock

They listened to the heartbeat again and I had a blood test to check for baby's platelets in my blood. I also had an internal examination from a junior doctor, who said that my cervix looked tightly closed and she couldn't see any cause for the bleed. Because I'd had a bleed, I then had to have an anti-D injection because I'm rhesus negative blood type and apparently a bleed can make you produce anti-bodies which will affect a positive blood type baby, and then we came home.

Today I had some pink tinges when wiping, and a couple of hours ago I had right red drops again. I feel ok (I think) so I'm just going to monitor it. I did ring the midwives earlier and they told me to ring anti-natal but there's no answer, so I'll leave it tonight and call again tomorrow if there's more blood. Sorry for the long post, I'm home alone tonight as DH is at work, so I needed to type it all out and get it off my chest! I'm ok, just a bit fed up! x x x

Moomin37 · 19/05/2016 21:19

Oh dear Eskimo it sounds like you've had a couple of very stressful days - no wonder you are fed up, especially if you're home alone. Hope you manage a good nights sleep and get some reassurance tomorrow Flowers

I'm fine thanks for asking - it's been a week since my BFP so did another CB digital and was very relived when it said 2-3 weeks.

Hope you're OK lovely Ella Flowers

Hang on in there Amy as you've done loads of DTDing and as we well know, a poor blood test result doesn't mean you're out Smile

Waves to Boggle Smile

YouBoggleMyMind · 19/05/2016 22:56

Oh eskimo that sounds so stressful. Glad to hear baby sounds ok and cervix is going "hell no! Not yet!" I hope the bleeding goes completely.

Glad to hear that bfp is still showing strong moomin.

Where is ellabean?

Tucked up in bed hoping that my dodge tum was just a one off. It was horrible.

Xxx

RobberBride · 19/05/2016 23:13

Evening all

My brain is fried with work, so I thought I'd catch up with you all.

Amy I'm so sorry your progesterone result wasn't what you wanted. Do you get a CD28 test? Having symptoms but only a low progesterone rise happened a few times to me - my theory is it was because my body was so used to no hormonal activity, even a slight rise felt monumental to me. Keep hoping and DTD!

Eskimo that must have been so scary. So glad you're getting good care. Let us know what happens tomorrow?

Boggle I feel your pain, I'd forgotten how much norethisterone affects my stomach. Have you started clomid now?

Moomin excellent to hear your BFP is still showing strong. Only 8 days til the scan.

Ella hope you're ok?

Is anyone else freaking out about Zika coming to Europe this summer? I'm really overreacting, but it is worrying me.

EllaMenoPea · 20/05/2016 07:05

Hey guys, sorry I've been super busy with work and a non sleeping toddler 😴

eskimo that sounds really scary but glad the HB sounds good, like I said before I had a bleed with DD and they never worked out why and all was fine.

moomin so happy that CB is increasing, I'm still so happy for you!

robber hope you're feeling ok? I'm not too worried about Zika at the moment, hoping it will be proved unfounded.

amy sorry the results weren't what you wanted. Hopefully eskimo story gives you hope. Good luck for test day.

boggle yay for AF. Hope you're feeling better?

AFM nothing to report!! My boobs are killing me though so AF should rock up soon, I've spoken to the clinic and waiting for a doctor to call me to discuss what's next as they agreed that another unmonitored round doesn't make sense. I'm just a bit fed up with it all really, just want a baby!!

AmyC86 · 20/05/2016 09:06

Thanks for all your support and help again Ladies xx it really does help xx

I think that the reason why I felt so bad after finding out my low result is because the doctors secretary basically said 'no ovulation on that cycle, the score is really low' it just put a dampener on the whole thing. Like ella has just said, I'm just fed up with it all, I just want a baby' - doesn't seem to much to ask does it!

YouBoggleMyMind · 20/05/2016 15:36

Any signs of AF have pretty much gone... What's going on? Sad

YouBoggleMyMind · 21/05/2016 08:21

Don't worry ladies, she turned up in full force this morning with no warning! Start clomid tomorrow night. Eek, this is it, round 4!

EllaMenoPea · 21/05/2016 10:50

Good luck boggle!

Moomin37 · 21/05/2016 12:00

Yay Boggle thats out a smile on my face. Time for Ella to make some progress now - sending positive vibes your way Smile

YouBoggleMyMind · 21/05/2016 12:58

Thanks! I realllllly wana get pregnant!!!!

eskimoflo · 21/05/2016 13:16

Hi everyone, thanks for the well wishes. Had a tiny bit more blood on Thursday, but nothing since and I think I can feel baby moving around in there, so it seems everything is back to normal!

Moomin Step away from the tests! After your BFP, they can show various results and even if they never change or get stronger, it doesn't mean to say that you need to worry. (Having said that, I tested for days after mine and did actually get a 3+ weeks on a digi, so I can't talk at all!)

Boggle Hoorah (again) for AF! The witch really doesn't like us, does she?! Glad you can start clomid again now. Smile

Ella Hope you get AF soon and that you are monitored. Also hope that you catch some zzzzzzz's soon! Flowers

Robber Zika is probably something that I would worry about if I'd had a holiday booked, but not because I actually think that there's something to worry about; it's just the kind of thing I do! Having said that, when Ebola was all over the news, I didn't even concern myself with it, but one of my friends had a holiday booked to Cape Verde and was beside herself with worry! I'm not sure how much of it is blown out of proportion by the media, but try not to worry yourself too much x x x

Amy I was told the same by the doctor before I got my BFP. It was 14 rather than 1, however, but you need to keep the faith! x x x

Moomin37 · 21/05/2016 14:33

I'm glad to hear you and baby are OK Eskimo - I was thinking about you yesterday.

AmyC86 · 21/05/2016 15:25

I'm keeping my mind open to the possibility of late ovulation, we'll see!

YouBoggleMyMind · 21/05/2016 16:22

Fingers crossed amy

We can do this!

RobberBride · 21/05/2016 22:00

Amy and Boggle good luck!!

Eskimo so glad to hear it is all ok. Have you bought any more maternity clothes?!

Ella excellent, I'm glad you're starting to get a plan from your clinic and things are happening. Hope your boobs stop hurting soon.

Moomin good luck with your scan this week.

AFM, only 24 more hours of this fucking awful drug and then I'll be free Grin and on AF-watch. Fingers crossed it'll turn up by Fri so I can call the clinic to confirm the baseline scan on Mon, and then we can get stabbing.

AmyC86 · 22/05/2016 23:27

BFN this morning ladies Sad cd28.

What do I do if I don't have a bleed?

Moomin37 · 23/05/2016 06:26

I'm sorry Amy but sit tight because we think you ovulated late, so it might be too early. What type of test did you use?

EllaMenoPea · 23/05/2016 09:19

Sorry amy cd28 is still early though. I would try again in a few days. If AF doesn't arrive after cd40 (that's what my clinic give too) then speak with yours and it may be Provera to bring on a bleed for another round xx

OP posts:
YouBoggleMyMind · 23/05/2016 12:35

Sorry for the not so good news this morning amy but I agree, you could have ovulated late so it wouldn't show up yet. I was told to go to day 35 and test if AF didn't turn up.

Does anyone have experience of metformin and clomid at 150mgs? That's what I'm doing this cycle.

EllaMenoPea · 24/05/2016 10:47

Sorry boggle no idea.

AF has just decided to rock up. Just spoken with the clinic and booked 2 scans in.
