Hi (big wave)
So you clicked on here cos you were looking for me (I'm flattered!) or the title seemed interesting!
I'm aware it doesn't really explain anything but we are bunch of lovely ladies all TTC and going ever so slightly crazy with it! For more info see our original thread here -

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/2412386-TTC-anxious-over-early-pregnancy-possible-symptoms?msgid=56357000#56357000

And our most recent thread here -

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/2458534-Prtys-Gang-and-The-Festival-of-Foof-Fun-when-they-not-being-cray-cray?pg=1&order=

We are symptoms spotters extraordinaire - you name it we've had it, real and/or imagined confused
We are here to help, we are all supportive, we laugh, rant, cry, joke, rage, smile, and comfort together. Be you a lurker or poster (established or new) then you are very welcome here. We only have a few rules:

  1. No judgement - we all lead different lives and have different standards and that is fine. You wanna get wasted everyday of TWW, that's fine. You wanna abstain completely, that's fine. We need support, not judgement.
  2. No feeling stupid - we've all had those months where we definitely think we are pg 110% convinced and then AF turns up, don't feel bad about it, it happens. Also we all have different levels of knowledge so no question is stupid apart from the one you don't ask.
  3. On this thread there is no such thing as TMI - we are all adults and we all know how miraculous and amazing... and downright disgusting our bodies can be, it's fine. Share what you want, we will not be fazed.

So that's it, jump in and FX'd for all my lovelies xx

shary yes diabetes would have been picked up if they tested for it. Do you know if they did a fasting glucose test or HbA1c or insulin?

Glucose tests your actual blood sugar levels at the time of the test (so it's a snapshot), Hba1c is a slightly longer term view of your ability to control blood sugars, and insulin is the actual hormone that responds to your blood sugars to control the levels. They are all useful in diabetes diagnosis but give a slightly different perspective. If they did any of the three it would probably have come back abnormal if you had diabetes.

You can all wake up now.

themoo · 12/10/2015 20:14

Having said that, pcos is associated with high insulin levels, whereas diabetes I'd associated with not enough insulin. So if they tested your insulin and It was normal its a rule out for pcos risk. I imagine they would have tested for androgens (a hormone) too.

SharyBobbins · 12/10/2015 20:40

themoo I had no idea they were testing for half the stuff they tested for to be honest! But when they read out the results they said 'diabetes test- normal' so I'm unsure what they tested for- I just assumed insulin? If my insulin is normal can I assume I don't have PCOS? I didn't have fasting bloods, they were all part of the day 21 bloods. I did have one of those finger prick tests years ago- that was fine too. I'm so confused!

themoo · 12/10/2015 20:47

If your insulin was normal it doesn't neccessarily mean you don't have pcos, but high insulin can affect production of androgens which is what causes wonky ovulation, excess hair etc. If they suspected pcos they would have tested for it one way or another so I would say you're probably ok. Ask them if you're not sure! They won't mind x

SharyBobbins · 12/10/2015 21:02

Thanks the moo! Wonky ovulation! What's that?!

themoo · 12/10/2015 21:05

Unpredictable. Y'know. Wonky.
Grin

PrtyPsn · 12/10/2015 21:52

I love how we have a little pot of specialist skills Grin
I used to have bloods taken routinely, no idea what for and when I wasn't able to explain to my new nurse why she cancelled them all!

OP posts:
themoo · 12/10/2015 22:02

FFS. It's not your job to know why. The nurse should have asked your GP (or whoever requested them).

Anyhoo. In getting off my biochemist chair now and going to sit in my non work chair where I can happily obsess about TTC and ignore all my training

sits

PrtyPsn · 13/10/2015 07:32

Hahaha sounds a plan moo it was my old nurse who used to do them just in case you're dying of curiosity! Weirdly I never questioned her, just let her do it... white coat effect, huh?
So, no idea where I am in my cycle now, either AF is 4 days late or due in 3 days :/

Morning all.. Feeling very sick this morning, trying convince myself it's not from the horrible thick smoothly I've just made and downed and it's for some other reason....

daydreaming commences

PrtyPsn · 13/10/2015 07:58

Morning poppy I've been feeling a bit sick on and off for the last week or so, more so in the mornings, think I'm on the verge of a harsh cold or flu maybe

MummyBex1985 · 13/10/2015 08:18

Haha - who would have thought a few years ago we would actually be wanting to feel sick?!

CD28, AF type niggles last night, usually happens 5-7 days before which probably means she's on her way. Again.

Fancy sharing some smoothie glitter? Grin

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 13/10/2015 10:16

I'm 4dpo today. The most boring bit of the cycle - too late to change the outcome, too early to have any idea what might happen!

neetie1 · 13/10/2015 10:39

Am trying to decide whether to test earlier due Sunday or Tuesday depending on app ...When do you think I should try?

MummyBex1985 · 13/10/2015 13:10

Neetie do you have ICs? If so I'd test four days before either day. That's what I'm doing this time mainly clinging to false hope

SunnyScot89 · 13/10/2015 17:06

Well I'm back. Just had confirmed MC. Totally gutted. And if the emotional stuff isn't enough the pain I'm going through is awful. Just want to curl up. Sad

neetie1 · 13/10/2015 17:45

What's an IC?
Oh Sunny so sorry xxx

LittleAindy · 13/10/2015 17:47

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 13/10/2015 18:01

Oh Sunny I'm so sorry to hear that Sad I hope the physical pain subsides soon.

SharyBobbins · 13/10/2015 18:03

Oh Sunny I'm so sorry Flowers xxx

Neetie I think that's what Bex is referring too.

Ladies do you think being poorly can delay/stop ovulation? CD34 now & nothing. Ovulated on CD28/29 last cycle. CD23, 24, 25 & 26 this time round I was full of a cold, knackered & had a fair bit of paracetemol...

neetie1 · 13/10/2015 18:10

In that case I could try in the morning....oo now I need to decide if I want to

PrtyPsn · 13/10/2015 18:14

Sorry to hear that sunny (hugs) we are all here x
