Sorry cupcake Sad Why didn't they put you on the drip, I didn't think that could fail?

LuluJakey1 · 25/10/2015 06:22

Sorry Flowers

Have you got a time for it?

iamdivergent · 25/10/2015 06:26

Ah cupcake just must be feeling drained Sad hope you got some rest.

I've had a terrible nights sleep, think I got about 5 hrs total at the most, so I'm exhausted

zombiemeow · 25/10/2015 06:49

Sorry replied at stupid o clock and was really tired, ds didn't agree with the extra hour in bed, he got up an hour earlier to make up for it.

Just know that your boy will be here soon cupcake, it may not be the birth you wanted but I'm sure you will forget all that when you see him Smile

Bears I don't think she can have the drip. Something to do with her prev c section if I remember correctly Sad

Ducky ur right, I wasn't allowed the drip, they said I would have been put on a very low dose only if my waters had broken and 4 hours had passed with no labour. But that was it. He said I'd do more damage to me if I was to go straight on the drip as my body hasn't even dilated at all.

Lulu I don't have a time at all for it. They are hoping to get it down for about lunchtime, as long as the other ladies who are in labour atm aren't going to need an emergency one. I have the docs coming to speak to me about 9/10am and discuss all the risks to me and to baby and discus the spinal block and all that. The risks to me are high as I've had a previous one, and I'm at higher risk of blood clots.

Ah dear this will be fun :/

Sorry to hear Ducky and Iam got awful sleep! Hope u both sleep better tonight.
Let's face it, I won't sleep at all I'll be feeding a baby Grin

LuluJakey1 · 25/10/2015 07:25

Oh Cupcake, you will both be fine and Ducky us right - once you see him it won't matter how he got here.

Also, he will be absolutely stunning because c section babies are not squashed or marked. Smile DS had a scrumpled up little face and a slightly squashed head for a few days. [He was still lovely but you know what I mean]

DS seems unaffected by the clock. He has had his milk and is having a snooze with DH.

iamdivergent · 25/10/2015 07:34

Haha that's true cupcake enjoy your snuggly cuddles when he arrives. Will keep popping in after lunch to see if any news, good luck x

Bearsinmotion · 25/10/2015 09:15

Yes, it really doesn't matter how he arrives, just that he does! (Although there is still time - DS arrived about 9 hours before his induction was booked!).

DS had a lie in this morning - he only woke up at 5:30 Hmm. Now also fast asleep with DP!

Cupcake92 · 25/10/2015 10:55

Doctor has gone in to do a csection on a patient and I'm next on the list lol
Each csection takes an hour

zombiemeow · 25/10/2015 11:19

Ooooooooohhhh keep us posted! Sneak your phone in

iamdivergent · 25/10/2015 11:59

Ooh it could be happening now!

Cupcake92 · 25/10/2015 12:01

Not happening now Iam Grin

But it will at 2pm
:)

Getting very scared now. It was my most traumatic event with DS. Scared it'll be the same

zombiemeow · 25/10/2015 12:08

Well this time will be very different cupcake as it isn't an emergency Smile I've heard they are very calm and chilled out.

OP posts:
LuluJakey1 · 25/10/2015 12:54

Cupcake, try not to think of last time. This time is planned and not an emergency ad Bears said. You will be fine and it won't be awful. You could as for a general anaesthetic if you really want one.

Good luck. He will be here in 2 hours and you'll be cuddling him.

DH and I have just had a squabble in Homebase over paint. He wanted this horrible flat grey and I wanted a neutral olivey colour. He gave in very ungraciously but bought a tester of the colour he wanted along with the paint I wanted. He sat in silence on the way home and has put them both on the wall. I looked at them and he said grudgingly 'You might have been right' then grinned and said 'as usual' Smile

Cupcake92 · 25/10/2015 13:26

That's true there's no need for then to rush it all which is good. :)

Lulu u will need my slippers then! I've attached a picture of them.
Grin

Should be going down at 2pm not long now !

20 mins to go cupcake! Grin

Lulu there must be something in the air! H has been an idiot the past few days. Am speaking to someone about a flat as a back up should something happen.Hmm

LuluJakey1 · 25/10/2015 14:29

Thanks Cupcake Smile
Ducky, things have sounded much, much better between you. What has he done?

DH is happily painting and DS is playing in the garden. The acts are out too chasing leaves. I am sitting having a cup of coffee at the garden table. It's lvely here - warm and sunny.

Cupacke, is he here yet? He might be here. I hope so and that you are having a cuddle and recovering. Can't wait to hear.

iamdivergent · 25/10/2015 14:36

Fingers crossed it's all gone well for you cupcake

Bearsinmotion · 25/10/2015 14:51

Just realised it's all happening! Cupcake, you seem much calmer than I would be in your slippers shoes!

It is lovely here. Just trying to unpack bits of the kitchen. Surely if I haven't used things in 4 weeks and not even noticed they are missing I don't really need them?!

zombiemeow · 25/10/2015 14:54

He's just being lazy and argumentative. But I am 'getting my ducks in a row' as they say on mn and will not put up with this anymore Smile

Eeeeeee he will be here now won't he? Grin

And me lulu I keep browsing active threads then coming back and refreshing

OP posts:

DH has just reminded me that after DS was born we were elated, emotional, cuddled him for ages, took photos, spoke to PIL, I had tea and toast and a shower, we fed him and then I was exhausted and had to have some sleep. And that took about 4 hours and DH had his instructions and left a message on here while me and DS slept. Cupcake is probably the same and in a recovery room being monitored after the op.

We could not know for a while yet got to stop checking every 5 mins
