Late period, some symptoms, neg test(s)

Hi
My AF is 8 days late.
I have some symptoms- smell of coffee I hate, feel sick, tired.
Sometimes I have similar pms symptoms but not to this extent and obviously being as late as I am....
Tested 3 days ago in the morning and last night in the evening and they were negative
When I had my son (born 2011) I knew at about 4 weeks and I had a early miscarriage in March and that was about 4 1/2 weeks

I would of thought it would be positive by now....

Anyone had/having similar problems?

So it wasn't af for me after, just a bit of spotting, the tiniest amount. Still a bit crampy though. Weird!

AF from he'll is still continuing here. Just been popping loads of painkillers. Got my smear test result back, all normal thankfully so just waiting on blood test now. Still no appt from gynae though they did say February so I think I won't be hearing anything for a while.

How are you all?

I just thought of something. Is there a specific blood test that shows whether ur I ovulating? I've realised the blood tests my G.P. has ordered are just normal ones to check for thyroid function etc.

I think when they check ur hormone levels it tells them a lot if they are normal ( progesterone / estrogen ) then I'm pretty sure their is a high chance u are ovulating , hard to pin point when In long cycles without using methods to check X
I could b wrong but no harm in asking next time u speak to ur GP xx

I have really sore nipples too lol and heartburn apart from that i feel quite normal too.

Dont no if im really dumb here but thought id check as someone asked me.... will you still have a period even if you dont ovulate my answer was erm well i think so because wether you ovulate or not you would still need to shed the lining of your uterus right?? X

Im in a huff just got bk from what was supposed to be my booking app with the midwife and they muddled it so there wouldn't b enough time to get thru everything and sent me away , I'm sad and angry both at once really wanted my scan date , sorry for the rant X

I'm in same position and it's driving me crazy! Came off pill 5 months ago but been very regular with exception of one month when I was 2 days late. I'm now 4 days late. None of the usual feeling of slightly achey from the side I'm ovulating from either. Have done two Boots pregnancy tests, one when I was one day late and one when I was 4 days late (first thing this morning). Now I don't know what to think or do! DH says I'm overreacting and my cycle's probably still settling down, but I feel it settled almost as soon as I came off the pill, and can't stop thinking about it!

No change 29dpo and no BFN! Although have had an increased feeling of nausea the last 48 hours and pains in my boobs?!

Off to docs this morning, so hopefully I'll find out soon what the hell is going on.

Thepartyartist- it's really frustrating , I had no idea how much the pill messed with our cycles afterwards , altho it is a bit strange that ur body had seemed to have sorted itself out pretty quickly and now is playing up ! The doctors are very annoying especially when u call up concerned and they just say "it's normal " they should have been more sympathetic and seem u anyway , r u TTC?
Mibi wouldn't rule out pregnancy yet some women don't get their BFP until a week after period is due X
Tootsie - hope your GP is helpful today , they may offer u blood tests to check your hormone levels , usually u get a period about 2 weeks after ovulation as most ladies luteal phases are around that time frame X
It's possible u may have not ovulated this cycle and that's what's causing the delay , think that's what happened to me first cycle X

Do you know if a GP would do a blood test at this stage (5 days late)?

Doctor was a bit pants. He said I probably didnt ovulate and to keep trying. He said opks and bbt are not always accurate so not to worry about them or use them?!

He wouldnt do a blood test either as he said I'd know by now if I was duffed up. On a plus only 6 more weeks until we can see a specialist and get some actual help. I tried to explain the toll its taking emotionally but he said he couldnt help as the rules are strict now about waiting a year for help.

thepartyartist no, I dont think youll get a blood test but you could go private for one. Here its about £45 and results come back in about 48 hours

Hey ladies,

Hope everyone is doing well this morning. So I got my gynae appt finally 15 Feb well at least we will have hit the magical one year mark of TTC by then.

This AF has been dreadfully painful and lasted slightly longer than before. Im confused now though about my possible ovulation day thanks to the 5 days of spotting I had - does that count as AF too? I think I'm going to have to use opk's a lot this month to determine even if I'm ovulating hoping to go Dr's tomorrow to get my blood tests result and discuss the possibility that I'm not ovulating.

Just thought id let you all no im not expecting anymore :( started misscarrying last night. Im literally in bits i dont no how people pick themselves up from this and try again i literally dont think i can. I cant think of anything worse than trying for abother baby at the minute! :( xx
