TTC #1 coming off the pill in December - anyone else in the same boat?!

Hi,

I am going to be coming off the pill after ten years plus on it after my pack finishes in December. Excited but also terrified about what my body is going to do once I'm without all the hormones!

Anyone else doing the same roughly the same time?

Shelb x

(Hope this goes through struggling to post)

Welcome back purple hope you enjoyed your holiday!

Just updated my tablet and its all different! So far, I'm not a fan of the changes!

StarkyTheDirewolf · 09/11/2015 21:26

I'd love a girl too, obviously I'd be delighted with a healthy baby of either sex but my family also has boys, I've always had it in my head that I'd have the first girl of my generation of family. Don't know why! Plus I'm a sucker for frilly dresses! Grin

Runner05 · 09/11/2015 21:28

I noticed the difference quite quickly and the moment I hit fertile week I definitely noticed a jump.

Symptom spotting again today, feeling quite crampy and can't decide whether I:
A) have skittle tits (hurty boobs)
B) should have worn a better bra on the treadmill
C) have checked for skittle tits so often that I've given myself artificial ones.
Hmm

shelbTa · 09/11/2015 21:31

Remind me runner - when was your last AF? (Sorry, my mind is a sieve)

Where on earth did 'skittle tits' come from Runner?! That made me chuckle.

Purple - hope you had a fab holiday.

Runner05 · 09/11/2015 21:47

Week before last Shelb so too early for it to be making a reappearance, although post pill who knows!!

Runner05 · 09/11/2015 21:48

Another term I saw and stole Pink... If something makes me giggle I have a tendency to appropriate it Grin

Ni4444 · 09/11/2015 21:56

God ladies this off the pill is misery for me. Thought AF had left yesterday, but back again today...a slow burner. Headache day again today and a bit of cramps. Have an old knee injury acting up so I'm bloody miserable. Tried to find a well qualified acupuncturist nearby to settle the hormones but for different reasons can't get apt until end of November. Moan moan moan Sad

Pinklily1 · 09/11/2015 22:00

Aw Ni, that's rubbish. Has AF lasted longer than it used to pre-pill? I found mine stopped after a few days and then re-started for two more. I suppose its just the body re-adjusting, but its annoying.

Runner05 · 09/11/2015 22:34

Oh Ni that sucks Sad hopefully it will even out for you Wine

shelbTa · 09/11/2015 22:42

That's shit ni. Does paracetamol clear your headaches? If not ask the docs, I get hormonal migraines and only special meds (vasoconstrictors) stop them

Yeah pink that's it exactly. Stop start!
Had a good night's sleep so feeling less miserable this morning. Just need more of that! I'm so exhausted since the dark evenings have arrived, all I want is sleep! I even wondered if the poas was wrong! It's not. It's just the settling as you say.

Shelb paracetamol works, I just rarely take it! Not a fan of taking too much...but maybe I need to make an exception for these few weeks.

How are you all this morning? Hope the sun comes out wherever you are! X

shelbTa · 10/11/2015 08:18

Morning ladies.

Uhhh, is it nearly the weekend!

Morning ladies Smile

Ni I know exactly how you feel with the dark nights. I just wanted to stay in bed this morning but I had to drop OH off at work as some lovely bastard person decided to let all the tyres down in our street the other day and we haven't had time to sort his car out yet Hmm

Shelb you're nearly there hon, only have to make it to the weekend then no more pill for you!!!!

My OH has agreed to me getting some ov sticks as temping doesn't seem to be working for me so I'm off to super drug today might have to get some super drug own tests to add to my collection too
Really want to know what's going on as I still have fertile cm, my temp chart is all over the place but Ovia and other symptoms suggest I ovulated last week. Very confusing...

BunchOfBobs · 10/11/2015 08:47

Hi all, wow so much in just one day to catch up on.

I'm kind on the wire with what sexy I prefer, girl because there are so many boys in our family and boy because the toys and clothes are so much more fun!!

I didn't find opk sticks any use Shelb I peed on them every day, I had EWCM and ovulation pain and yet never got a positive. To truly get the benefit of them you have to use them every 8 hours I think it js, I do not want to be that crazy focussed. Unless it's been months then I'll try anything.

My sex drive massively increased coming off the pill but it took 3 months or so for that to happen. I definitely have a higher sex drive than DH. We struggle to have more than once a week with his current drive but it's so much better than it was a couple of months ago.

Pink I also got mega breakouts coming off the pill.

Oh my days Runner you have such an amazing way with words "skittle tits" snigger
^^

shelbTa · 10/11/2015 10:51

Hi ladies!

In really tempted to get some piss sticks off amazon, saw them last night, hear what you're saying though bunch.

Runner - what did you buy from super drug? How many quids do you mind me asking?

I know, not long now!

Runner05 · 10/11/2015 12:17

Yep I got some pissy sticks from super drug.

5 ov sticks for £16 oh my god
2 high sensitivity red in pregnancy tests for £8

I would have got the cheap internet pissy sticks but you have to collect a cup of wee for them which I didn't fancy. The ones I bought were mid steam.

As a side note I looked in Wilko's and found cheap pissy sticks for £4 or clear blue digital for £18. I went for super drug because every one seems to agree that their own brand are good.

shelbTa · 10/11/2015 12:41

Haha, I know, cup of wee for the amazons ones, and bearing in mind I'm probs going to be doing them in the works toilets, it's far from ideal!

OP posts:
BergamotMouse · 10/11/2015 13:32

I wee in a little Gu pudding glass pot!!! Not ideal but for me cheapness wins.

I only just found out that you have to do it in the afternoon which is prob why I never got my clear positive. At least I've learnt for next time!

Ni4444 · 10/11/2015 13:34

The clear blue one I got is for first morning pee! uk.clearblue.com/clearblue-ovulation-test-range/clearblue-digital-ovulation-test-with-dual-hormone-indicator I had to double check that

purplesmiler · 10/11/2015 15:26

Hi Ladies

I haven't used OV sticks yet, I'm just using an app to track my cycle at the moment.

My sex drive has always been fairly high with the OH (we are well matched hehe) but since I stopped the pill it has increased even more. It's all fun and hopefully it will result in a pregnancy.

DrWhy · 10/11/2015 15:58

Well my job offer will apparently be made on Wednesday, I'm currently on my pill break and if I get the job offer the plan is basically not to take it again on Monday as I should - eek!
I should probably just confirm it with DH but because of time difference we can only talk without one of us being at work at the weekends!!

happybus28 · 10/11/2015 16:01

Hope your all having a better day than me! Been in a horrible mood all day, was up a lot of the night with my poorly dog so am sleep deprived today! God knows how I'll cope with it on a regular basis when we have a baby!! I need sleep!

I haven't bought any ov tests yet, gonna give it a while using my app and see how I get on. I'm already obsessed with checking ovia!

Runner05 · 10/11/2015 16:03

I am having a really stressful day, not ideal when I'm supposed to be de-stressing Hmm

I actually feel worse now I've been signed off but I think that's just because I've acknowledged that I'm not coping and need time to breath.
I'm going to try to get signed off until my therapy session on 1/12 makes me sound like a mental patient hopefully that getting counselling combined with knowing my mothers prognosis whether she's got more than a year or two to live or not should take some of the worry away. At least I hope so!

Runner05 · 10/11/2015 16:05

Happy I'm obsessed with it too. I sware I check it at least 5 times a day, I don't know what I expect to have changed lol
