TTC #1 coming off the pill in December - anyone else in the same boat?!

shelbTa · 28/09/2015 08:22

Hi,

I am going to be coming off the pill after ten years plus on it after my pack finishes in December. Excited but also terrified about what my body is going to do once I'm without all the hormones!

Anyone else doing the same roughly the same time?

Shelb x

(Hope this goes through struggling to post)

Runner you don't sound like a mental patient at all. I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression a couple of years back and went for private therapy sessions. Worked a treat and not had an episode since.

I really think I need to get on this Ovia app!

Runner05 · 10/11/2015 18:11

Thanks Bunch and yes, become a slave to Ovia like us Grin

BergamotMouse · 10/11/2015 18:22

I find myself looking at Ovia (and my 2 other fertility apps) loads in a day, and do lots of counting (how many dpo / days to AF / days to test. I need to stop really as I'm just building myself up for disappointment.

Sorry to hear you're both feeling down runner and happy.

I saw the sun shining today for what feels like the first time in weeks which boosted my mood a little.

I'm sat on the sofa whilst DH cooks dinner - and I've just heard him start vacuuming Grin! This is the life!

shelbTa · 10/11/2015 18:27

Runner don't give yourself a hard time, happens to the best.

Agree with a shi* week, I can't wait until the weekend so I can drink wine until I'm numb unwind.

Off to input into ovia.

I hear you re stress Runner. I think I've been underestimating how stressed my body is. Need to do more to unwind this month -any suggestions ladies? Booked myself in for new yoga class tomorrow...trying to push myself to be good... but why do most relaxation things cost money?! Acupuncture, yoga, pregnancy tests...gonna be penniless!

Heading away Thursday for a few nights with the other half. Hope we both leave everything else at home and just enjoy ourselves and dtd a lot!

Morwenna1 · 10/11/2015 19:41

Wow, missed lots again! Hello newbies Smile

I went quiet as I thought things were looking up, but she's landed!! The Hag has landed. Currently feeling sorry for myself as I feel like crap. I actually put my cycle history into Clue going back a few months and it updated itself. Predicted AF with 100% accuracy, so I'm hoping the fertile window period is right too! I do get EWCM at the time it says. Not charting. Yet.

Other things: I like Philippa Gregory and castles and GoT :) He's written a prequel?! There was me waiting for the next book to come out!

Pissy sticks - I got mine off Amazon (cheap ones) although I think they are mid stream ones? Also got First Response off Amazon as well.

Definite increase in sex drive after coming off the pill, doing it every other day is exhausting, but making a concerted effort in the window!!

That was a scary story about car seats....we can't know everything ladies, it's a learning process, right?! Can we just focus on this TTC marlarky first of all and then find out how to be perfect parents?! Wink

Morwenna1 · 10/11/2015 19:46

Oh, and I really don't mind if it's a boy or girl tbh - as long as it's healthy Smile

I hate dark mornings! God only knows what I'll be like when severely sleep deprived!

Skittle tits is my new fav phrase. Grin

Ladies - secret life of four year olds, channel 4 now, it's amazing!

Sorry to hear there are a few of us feeling down and having crap weeks. At least tomorrow is hump day (probably in more ways than one for some of us!)

It's weirdly warm here today for November, it doesn't match with the dark nights and gale force winds.

I'm staying away from ovulation sticks for now, I know I will become obsessed if I get them.

I've got a fertility score of 5 on Ovia today, this is the oresicted fertile period. Does anyone know if it goes higher than 5?!

Deborah89 · 10/11/2015 20:09

So many posts!
Runner you aren't mental at all! And I'm sorry to hear how stressed you are. I have had group therapy and 1:1 therapy and it does help. I still keep in touch with the people from group therapy over 2 years after it finished.

If I could work out when to use ovulation sticks and how I would be obsessing over them!

I have had a really upset tummy today (sorry if tmi) so had a look online and found that it is common from 6dpo . . . I am 6dpo!!! Trying not to get my hopes up. I know it's early days but I am definitely keeping my fingers crossed that it isn't a bug I've picked up from the children at work!

Is anyone else getting early pregnancy symptoms?

Shelba I have recorded the secret life and will try to watch it later! Xx

BergamotMouse · 10/11/2015 20:12

Fertility score goes up to 10 pink. I'm recording secret life of 4 year olds - loved the one last week. Just watching the hangover which we recorded last night (letting DH have his way). Can't believe I've never seen it before.

Ni4444 · 10/11/2015 20:22

Yeah saw 4 yr old last week and loved it! That's our future!!

Sorry to hear AF arrived Morwenna. Why wont any of our AFs just pee off!!! What are you gonna do to console/make the most of it?

leoniethelioness · 10/11/2015 20:31

DrWhy - fingers crossed with your job offer! Star

Runner05 - lots of tea Brew and flowers Flowers for you. And biscuits. Biscuit Biscuit Biscuit Please be kind to yourself. I hope that you get the time that you need and that your counselling session helps.

I've not got any fertility apps yet. I'm quite relaxed about when we conceive in the next few months.

I've just bought some Tesco Multiplus Pregnancy multivitamins online while I was doing my grocery shopping because they were £3 (and 3 for 2) so significantly cheaper than the Pregnacare or Seven Seas ones. They say they are also for women planning a pregnancy and have the levels of folic acid (400 micrograms) and vitamin D (10 micrograms) the NHS recommend. I think they will be OK for the time being! Looking forward to seeing DH's face when they arrive tomorrow... Grin It seems that you should take them for a month before conception so now seems like a good time to start. (We're TTC after Christmas, once we're back from our winter sun holiday! [santa] Counting down the days...)

shelbTa - I watched this last week. It was really entertaining! I'm recording it to watch later!

Deborah89 - what symptoms are you experiencing? Fingers crossed for you too!

Pinklily1 · 10/11/2015 20:31

Ah, I just checked and it's gone up to 7.5. Shame we aren't trying yet.

Deborah - sorry to hear you aren't feeling well, but fingers crossed its for a good reason!!

Deborah89 · 10/11/2015 21:11

Leonie I have an upset tummy, cramps and flutters (All could be related and could also be a bug) so kinda hoping they are early symptoms and I found upset tummy can happen from 6dpo which I am.

Thanks pinklily am hoping it is a good reason otherwise I am wanting to be better after a decent sleep starting to forget what they are.

Runner05 · 10/11/2015 21:30

Thanks for being lovely peeps, have a biscuit Biscuit

Mor sorry the witch got you, enjoy wine and cheese and all the things you couldn't have had if she hadn't turned up and come out fighting or more to the point, shagging once she's pissed off Grin
I was slightly concerned when you said about doing it in the window... Your poor neighbours Confused

Deb hope your symptoms are symptoms. I've got a few flutters, aches and oddities but I've decided I'm not going to symptom spot any more as I'm driving myself crazy!

Must look up 4 year old thing. Might do that tomorrow Smile

DrWhy · 10/11/2015 21:40

Thanks Leonie I had a long chat with the job holder today (future bosses boss) and he certainly seems to think that I'll be joining the team! I really must find these vitamins if we are really going to go ahead with this in a month... Mind you I should probably also stop eating junk and make an effort to start some exercise again too!
Runner05 I've been in counselling a couple of times and on and off antidepressants for 6 years now - I remind myself that my mental health is just as important as my physical health and try to treat it accordingly. Rest and try to treat yourself kindly through this difficult time.
shelb I'll have to try to find that program although anything that is even slightly sad or is too sweet tends to make me cry buckets so it's probably best to get some tissues in first!
Sorry to hear a few people are having bad days or feeling unwell I hope things start to improve for you all and good luck to those already waiting, temping, charting and peeing on things!!

KatOnATinRo0f · 10/11/2015 22:53

Wow I've missed so much!! How is everyone going so far this week? Cd 15 for me, had a bit of a blip over the weekend (drank far too much wine) so I think I'm out for this month as that was my most fertile day. We shall see. Used ov sticks from sainsburys (pee on ones) last two afternoons after work but didn't get a positive response. Wasn't until about 5.30-6pm though. Possibly doing something wrong.

Runner05 · 11/11/2015 07:31

Morning everyone, how are you all today?

Kat you may not be out. Wait and see if the witch shows up Smile

Appart from dropping OH at work I'm planning to stay indoors and be productive for most of the day. I've got Christmas presents to order, stuff to put on eBay and the live action Cinderella to watch Grin

After dtd last night my OH turned round and said "you want to be careful, if you keep doing that you're going to get pregnant" lol, I didn't have the heart to tell him I'm past my fertile week now so no amount of shagging will get me upduffed unless I am already Confused

Ni4444 · 11/11/2015 08:17

Bless, I love the misplaced pride from our OHs when it's completely the wrong time of the month! it's not rocket science...they just don't listen!

Runner05 · 11/11/2015 13:01

Women who are ttc are strange creatures. I'm actually happy that I have tender boobs, the fact that I have a tummy ache makes me hopeful and I nearly danced when I just realised that my cm has thickened up. This is not normal behaviour! Hmm

Runner05 · 11/11/2015 13:35

Feeling very pleased with myself and just have to share.
In August we went with the children and their Granddad to Disneyland Paris. It was good but there were so many little things that were terrible (wallpaper hanging off in the rooms, bad service etc.) that I wrote a rather epic complaint letter. The family thought I was mental and I had to chase Disney repeatedly looking for the right people to speak to but I finally got a response and a refund of about a third of the holiday cost!!!! So chuffed, I feel like I've won a war Grin

BunchOfBobs · 11/11/2015 13:49

Runner you sound like a woman after my own heart. I love a successful complaint. I got £340 quid back off the kitchen company for a damaged unit that I don't has time to wait for a replacement and I've had many other successful complaints- free kindle, free iPod. There is always a reason to complain politely.

BergamotMouse · 11/11/2015 13:58

Well done on the refund runner. I recently complained to pizza express as got a pretty raw base on pizza when I last went which I sent back and it came back no better. They've given me 2 complementary mains but to get them I have to take in my complaint letter to the restaurant I complained about!!! I can't bring myself to do it.

DrWhy · 11/11/2015 14:21

Good work runner BA managed to delay and then damage my luggage on a long journey recently - they've paid out for the delay without quibble but the replacement case they are trying to give me is naff so I'm trying to gather up some energy for the inevitable fight...!
