TTC #1 coming off the pill in December - anyone else in the same boat?!

shelbTa · 28/09/2015 08:22

Hi,

I am going to be coming off the pill after ten years plus on it after my pack finishes in December. Excited but also terrified about what my body is going to do once I'm without all the hormones!

Anyone else doing the same roughly the same time?

Shelb x

(Hope this goes through struggling to post)

I'm trying to lose about 5lbs, to be at ideal weight before preggo lbs pile on.

Haha, yeah, dunk a raw steak in some melted Brie ni!

Omg Shelb that just made my mouth water.

Rare meat fondue!! Mega yum!

I really dread can't wait for pregnancy cravings Confused__

shelbTa · 02/11/2015 14:06

I know this is going to make me sound like an alcoholic but im really really going to miss the wine and the gin!! I bloody love white wine and I love a Bombay sapphire. The world is a better place after a Friday night tipple.

shelb you don't sound like an alcoholic! I love wine and gin too, I decided to stop drinking as much as I was because I think it was interfering with my sleep! Gin and bitter lemon is amazing! I had half a glass of rose wine last night with tea and was all warm and fuzzy!

Runner05 · 02/11/2015 15:13

Mmm... Rare meat and cider are going to be my problems, blue cheese too... Not liking the pregnancy food menu Sad

wish I only had 5lb to lose, more like 3st!

shelbTa · 02/11/2015 15:36

This chat is making me really hungry!!!

Made decision to stick it out until end of packet - only reason being I get cracking headaches during AF and I've got a huge day long meeting middle of next week, which I could not handle with a headache. Excitement over.....#11daystogo

Pate bunch!!! How could I have forgotten about pate!!! Grin

Sounds like a plan Shelb. Enjoy the control over AF while you can!!

Ps...don't get me wrong ladies I could lose more than 7lbs but I don't believe in unachievable or unsustainable goals!!! this girl likes her food too much Wink

harrietm87 · 02/11/2015 18:31

Exciting runner!! Good luck to you and all who are trying.
I had another chat about it with OH at the weekend. We've got a holiday in March and he has some stressful work stuff round then so he said he didn't want me to be feeling ill with morning sickness then. I kind of agree but also don't want to push it back for another 3 months! Obv this is assuming we would succeed first time which I appreciate is very unlikely. I also think jan is a good time to start because I could say I'm detoxing after Xmas hence no booze...I've clearly overthought this!

Runner05 · 02/11/2015 19:40

Shelb sounds like you're making the best choice for you try and enjoy how exciting it is knowing you've only got a few days left Smile

Harriet I think most men have issues with the idea of starting to ttc. I'd tell him the date you want to come off the pill and leave it at that.

just realised that the end of my tww will be the weekend I go to see Bellowhead. If there's even a remote chance I'm upduffed I shall have to poas before I go Wink

Ni4444 · 02/11/2015 19:52

I'd never heard of them Runner-had to Google! They're a folk band?

Pinklily1 · 02/11/2015 20:29

Shelb - still only 11 days to go - that'll fly by!

Bunch - very pleased you don't have to get up at 4am every day.

I have to confess I hadn't heard of Bellowhead either, but my taste in music is awful so it doesn't say much!

I think i'm the only person in the world to have put on weight marathon training (free pass to eat whatever you want!), so now the last one is out the way for a while (while the baby making is taking place!), i'm getting back into the gym to try and lose a few pounds. I'd love to think when the time comes I will have a nice neat bump but in reality I'll probably balloon!

shelbTa · 02/11/2015 21:06

Thanks guys.

Wow pink - you've done a marathon??

Pinklily1 · 02/11/2015 21:24

Unfortunately more than one, I love the actual race, it's just the training that's really time consuming. Definitely won't be happening when there are babies. I used to be over 6 stone heavier and running helped me lose the flab!

leoniethelioness · 02/11/2015 21:48

I'm trying to get fitter too by the end of the year. New gym membership and trying to eat a bit better. I mostly manage it in the week but weekends are another story... Leftover Halloween chocolates, wine and Kettle crisps were my downfall at the weekend! Giving up alcohol after our winter sun holiday next month so that'll help my waistline! I'm 9 lb overweight at the moment and want to get back to where I was when I got married, which was a stone lighter than I am now. Shock I really just need to cut out snacking and caramel lattes on my way to work...

Hoping to be much closer to my ideal weight by the time I'm pregnant. I have read you can do Slimming World while pregnant so I might try following that if the general healthy eating no snacking plan falls down!

How were your Mondays?

leoniethelioness · 02/11/2015 21:51

Wow, Pink - any tips?! I just struggled to run/walk 2.5 km on the treadmill... Blush I'm hoping to be able to run 5 km by the end of the year in a respectable time. That seems like a massive challenge right now! Well done you on the marathons!

Runner05 · 02/11/2015 22:05

Yep, Bellowhead are a folk band. I've never really managed to like "cool" music Wink

Pink I am in awe of your marathon running. I can just about managed to run/walk 5k. Best I've managed is cross country walk of 25miles (there was a pub at the start and finish line, I feel the organisers knew how to motivate people)
Hey and losing 6st through running is amazing!!!

I honestly hope that we all get upduffed so quickly that none of us have time to lose the extra lbs Wink

Pinklily1 · 02/11/2015 22:07

Leonie - definitely start with a 5k. I just set myself small milestones, like being able to run 3 miles, 5 miles etc. Built up to 9 miles and a friend said if you can do 9 you can do a half. Once I did my first half I got the bug of trying to get a PB each time, then switched to marathons for a new challenge.

It's all about little goals to keep you motivated I think.

I've not done one but a lot of my friends do the weekly Saturday Parkruns and love them. They have them in loads of cities

Pinklily1 · 02/11/2015 22:18

fingers crossed for lots of upduffness all round!

leoniethelioness · 02/11/2015 22:25

Yes, I've just had a look at them! I'm really slow on the treadmill but I've looked at the times for the ones near me and I think I'll be able to do one and not be last once I've improved my stamina. Smile

I've been setting the treadmill to about 8.4 km ph but if I slow down to about 7.7 km ph I think I'll be able to sustain it for longer and finish in a time which would put me at the back of the pack but not last for a park run. New goal!

I'm following an 8 week programme so building up really gradually. Hopefully I'll get a bit faster by the New Year and ready for a park run. I'm going to try to focus on distance first and sign up when I'm sub 40 minutes! I know that's really slow but I'd be so pleased with myself if I did it!

Morwenna1 · 02/11/2015 22:51

Evening!! Missed a few pages, so this is just a quick hello (I'll write properly when I have more time)...

Sorry about the BFN Ni - just keep swimming! (er, as they say)

Coming off Cerazette was ok for me - 3 weeks in and things had returned to normal. So far (touch wood) my cycles have been regular and around 27/28 days. And Shelb - I stopped mid packet as my doc just said 'stop taking the pill' Er, it didn't really occur to me to finish off the packet!! Lol!

No longer feeling as 'weird' as I did a week or so ago....must have been the indigestion!! So much cake around at the moment. MUST. RESIST.

So no news yet ladies, but the Witch is still a little way away....god this is going to get so bloody annoying each month!!

Alcohol...I don't drink a lot really, so it's normal for me to have just a few on occasion. Christmas is going to be interesting though! One excuse I thought is good is antibiotics..

Someone asked me today if I'd ever thought about having kids? ARGH (Insert expletive here)

Hello to newbies!!

Morwenna1 · 02/11/2015 22:59

Just discovered the TTC and 2WW thread on here, nice to know what that lady went through to get her BFP!

BunchOfBobs · 02/11/2015 23:08

Just a quick one before bed.

Morwen if you read around the threads on here you'll see that antibiotics as an excuse for not drinking is code word for "upduffed" to anyone in the know apparently. Definitely an excuse to be avoided methinks.

I don't run, positively hate it or it hates me. I love weight training, swimming and the cross trainer, but being asthmatic I just hate being out of puff, so therefore massively dislike cardio, it makes me feel panicky. Saying that though I managed a 5k obstacle run under 40mins last month so it's probably mind over matter.

Night all

BunchOfBobs · 03/11/2015 11:16

Morning all.

Headaches are back gah, sometimes I hate my body!! I'm still
Symptom spotting despite having little to no symptoms!

How about you Ni? Any sign of AF yet?

Ni4444 · 03/11/2015 11:46

No bunch I'm still waiting for the go-ahead for the raw food and soft cheese!! Last time I came off the pill for two months I was exactly 28 days cycle each month so it should have been yesterday....but of course technically now my cycle can do anything it wants so it may just decide to be a few days late to torment me! If it's not here by tomorrow I may test again! I've had no headaches or cramps or anything since last week...so no signs one way or the other! You're 4 days waiting now?

Runner05 · 03/11/2015 11:54

Morning ladies!

I'm in a right grump today. My back is killing me and my job is boring me to tears. I want to get on with starting my own business but I'm so mentally tired when I get home that I just want to veg Sad
Also, if my back isn't any better then I think I'm going to be out this month Angry

Anyway, grumble, grumble, moan, moan.

How is everyone else this morning?
