Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.
  5. Thou shalt not be offended by the word vagina.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others. Also known as 'the witch', 'bitch witch' and 'that one with the red shiny convertible'

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit), or PIATLH (Tea light holder), PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in! PONF = Pee on Nigel Farage (Self explanatory, who wouldn't?)

ROC = Receptacle of Choice - what one chooses to use for the task of POAS. Optional decorations include photographs of controversial political leaders.

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet or jizz in the eye. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Jizz in a bra = how we transport the jizz to the Sperm Queen

Shagging like Something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession. Warning - this may happen to you if you start trying to POAS at 5dpo. PUT. THE. PISSY. STICK. DOWN. IT'S TOO EARLY!

Contraband (or Cuntraband) = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

SOTM = Shagger of the Month. Awarded with varying regularity to those viroids who go above and beyond EOD shagging in pursuit of that BFP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture. AKA Schroedingering!
TWPU - Two Week Piss Up!

Keeping your gingers = fingers crossed, yet another autocorrect development! Shortened to 'gx'

Doing A Lemon = Testing WAAAAAAAY to early!

Miroid - The male compadre of a viroid

Cat - Compulsory

Skittletits - Killer molten painful tits and nipples

Ghost jizz/goat jazz - When the amazing foof sucks up all the jizz - achieved when coming at the same time/nearly the same time.

Is that the same as the CVS test then London?

LondonGirl83 · 09/10/2015 18:54

No, a cvs is similar to an amino as its diagnostic and carries a 1-2 percent risk of miscarriage due to scraping the placenta.

The NIPT is a very very accurate blood test with zero risk of miscarriage that can be done much earlier. It's not offered on the NHS because most of the labs that analyse the blood are in the US but St Thomas offer it for a fee as do some private clinics. It finds trace placenta DNA in your blood stream and analyses it. It's a relatively new technique.

LondonGirl83 · 09/10/2015 18:55

They usually send the blood off the the US which is why it takes a while to get the results.

lildottie · 09/10/2015 20:40

I thought the CVS was a blood test. must have got my lil brain confused. will have to research more as it gets closer!

justtheonethen · 09/10/2015 20:41

chat well that's balls. Hopefully a false one, I get near positives around my period so maybe it's that? Sorry sweetheart really had my hopes high for you. Are you ok?

tink that sounds lovely! I often think my cat would like a crib or a tiny onsie. Might just fully throw myself into crazy cat woman and just buy them for him. Might be the only way I get to!

Great news feathered! So pleased for you.

Still no shagging here, dp is annoying me too much! Will have to get on that later otherwise I'll have even more chance of being destined to be the neighbourhood weirdo pushing her cat in a pram.
To be fair dp did make advances last night, but he woke me up at 3am all beery and I was livid!

KeepTheHope · 09/10/2015 20:47

Chat hopefully it's not AF, you're still not out yet and I have everything crossed for you.

Tink that coy sounds lovely! --And I'm sure the cat would love it too

I donned the old cape last night. Managed to not cough during which was a bonus! Think it may get have been well timed judging by cm today but we will see. My family have a history of struggling to get pregnant and then having early mc so I'm fully prepared for it to take a while and feel very anxious when it does. Hoping to be the one to buck the trend but only time will tell.

KeepTheHope · 09/10/2015 20:48

Obviously coy was supposed to be cot. Stupid fat fingers!

justtheonethen · 09/10/2015 21:38

My family all get pregnant instantly so I can tell you family traits don't necessarily pass on!

lildottie · 09/10/2015 21:41

Ditto just and my mum only took a yr to conceive at age 41 with no 5

KeepTheHope · 09/10/2015 22:23

I hope they don't in my case! I'm sorry they didn't for you guys though.

SockQueen · 09/10/2015 22:39

I've never asked my mum for details! She got pregnant with me 9 months after getting married, but I don't know if they started trying right away (they wouldn't have before marriage!) She was 36 when I was born, so a few years older than me. Then had several mc before having my sister at 40.

Still haven't told her about our issues.

coribeth · 09/10/2015 22:41

Yeah my mum had her 4th baby at 45 after being told she'd gone through the menopause twice!Confused (Hence also having baby 3 at 42!)
feathered so pleased for you here's hoping you can relax a bit and enjoy Smile

lildottie · 09/10/2015 22:47

Lol I didn't ask for details, that's the only infi DM volunteered when I was upset about sil announcing 2nd pg. I'd been trying longer than that at that point and was 14years younger so not the most helpful comment!

KeepTheHope · 09/10/2015 22:53

All I can say is, I know you are strangers on the Internet, but from what I can tell from the past couple of weeks when it happens for all of you they will be bloody lucky and very well loved children. And it will happen because I like to believe that good things do happen to good people despite how many times life tries to prove me wrong.

KeepTheHope · 09/10/2015 22:56

I knew my DM had been trying for a while but then decided she needed to leave my abusive F. They got drunk around xmas and I turned up 9 months later! Before that she lost a baby when he threw her down the stairs and after me had a MC. I think there were MCs before the shitty F incident too. Twat.

Rant over.

lildottie · 09/10/2015 23:43

Oh keep your poor dm

lildottie · 09/10/2015 23:43

Sorry, im supposed to call you hope too confusing!

justtheonethen · 10/10/2015 00:17

^this

Totally how I feel. You are such a great bunch. I do love the viroids might have had wine and got a bit emosh

hope your poor dm.

Ha ha lil my mum volunteed that info when she found out we were struggling and then asked if we were doing it right Hmm

KeepTheHope · 10/10/2015 00:24

Oi lil you'll be strong me in trouble with keep for name stealing Wink

My dm is ok now. She says if that hadn't have happened then I wouldn't have been born because she was pregnant with me before that baby would have been born

I've had a very turbulent relationship with f and he won't be getting to know any dc I have. I last saw him when he walked it halfway through my wedding breakfast and I'm not going running this time.

Sorry for the rant viroids, it feels good to get it out of my head occasionally. As you were!

Runner05 · 10/10/2015 01:27

Just wanted to say Hope that it sounds like we have very similar stories but when my dad threw my DM through a wardrobe I survived. Some people are just assholes and your better off without their shit in your life!

Illiria · 10/10/2015 04:36

Sorry to hear so many of your DM's have had such terrible times.

Most of my family have gotten pregnant really easily but I recently found out my DAunt had multiple miscarriages, basically every time she was pregnant with a girl.

I had a crying fit yesterday for an hour as I was convinced the cat was miserable as he was meowing a lot.

Illiria · 10/10/2015 04:58

So this was a opk I just took, it's 9dpiui and I did a hpt and it was negative. It's never this dark before the witch arrives.

5hell · 10/10/2015 06:11

Oh gx it's a good sign ill !!
Random crying has got to be a sign too right? ;)

Keepatit · 10/10/2015 07:01

Had a dream I got a BFP.

woke up upset

YouBastardSockBalls · 10/10/2015 07:07

I've never asked about how long it took DM to conceive because ewwww they don't do that stuff but I know DM had 2 terrible labours and births and subsequently stopped at 2, although she won't go into details.

Epic 9 day period seems to have stopped, which is nice. No shagging though as a bit eww so if I'm icing early I'm fooked. Considering OPKs, what's the craic with them?
