Hoping a bit of Halloween magic starts early and grants us all our bfp's!!

AF hasn't arrived despite feeling very AFy yesterday. Shall try another IC in the morning if still no sign. Desperately trying not to build hopes up (hence why my testing date is meant to be next Saturday!).

Cookies it's crazy that it took you 3 shops until you found one! Fingers crossed for you! Don't count yourself out yet, you're in until AF arrives!

I'm still having shooting pains and have been having burning pains across my boobs all day. Then this evening it seems to be going between my nipples and armpits! Sorry tmi!! If I'm not pregnant then this is the weirdest run up to AF ever!!

Ok so I couldn't sleep, felt a bit sick (put it down to worrying about testing) so I got up and POAS, half asleep... I think I see a line!!

I think it's only after the 2ww that the embryo starts developing a placenta and can be affected by what is in your blood - before that it gets all it needs from the yolk. So I think it's ok to have had a few drinks!

I haven't really had any symptoms. DH is erring on the side of caution and not getting excited in case of early mc. I am going to have to tell a friend today I think just to make it seem real...

Bfn this morning, still no AF. Still feel AFy so it's coming, just want it to hurry up and put me out of my misery.

I have my appointment now for my scan, so that and more blood tests are what's in store for me.

CD32 for me now. Didn't test this morning because Monday mornings are bad enough! No symptoms either way.

Don't worry about the wine cookies, it will be fine. Lots of people drink and then find out they're pregnant.

I'm so nervous about the next 48 hours. I'd normally start spotting today. .. ahh I'm going mad!!

Am I being ridiculous to go on the hunt for a different test this lunch time? I can only really get to asda. Or should I just keep on with the ICs/wait for AF to inevitably arrive?

bonkers - you're not being ridiculous, I think it just depends what you want to do. I get quite down seeing BFN so I'm not an early tester but I know other people are happier knowing one way or another. Do what's best for you! I thought LP is same every month but if that's the case then I ovulated really really late this month. I take OPKs and usually then get AF 14 days after a positive so say 12/13 day LP. But it's now 18 days after I got my positive OPK.... Stupid thing is we DTD 2 days before positive as DH away with work after that so if I then ovulated much later than the positive OPK then there's no way I could be pregnant. Argh! Sorry for essay, just v confused and annoyed!

That's my thoughts too. I got a positive opk two weeks ago today. When I've had almost positives before, AF has arrived 12/13 days later. I had mild cramps Saturday night and yesterday. I normally get some spotting before hand but nothing. And I'm impatient. And hate getting BFN. Argh!!

Soda, it sounds quite possible that you could be pregnant based on those timings. Sperm can survive for up to 5 days in there! Are you going to wait until the weekend to test?

I'm being so massively unproductive today. I'm supposed to be doing a load of freelance work, but I am being somewhat useless! Decided to take a FRER (which I found in my village pharmacy, and bought at a time of day when nobody I knew was working behind the counter - score!) in the hopes that it will show up strongly enough to get DH to accept it is real, but I want to hold my wee for at least 5 hours so that I get a chance of getting a decent result. One hour left to go and I have to tell you, the need to wee is not aiding my ability to concentrate on work much!

Really not sure what to think. I tested with FRER yesterday and definitely no line whatsoever (I looked very very hard!). Also wondering if it was possible I just didn't ovulate this month - I only got positive OPK for one day whereas every month so far I've had quite strong positive for 2 days.

Really going to try and sit tight but frankly it's all I'm thinking about so I'm being very unproductive at work! I have a night out planned on Friday so I should probably test before then if still no AF.

Yes Soda, this is my first! And only, all being well, as DH and I have always said that we would have one biologically (if we could) and then adopt one.

I don't know much about the OPK testing, but surely if you had a definite positive line then that means you ovulated? Yeah, I would test again on the Friday morning if I were you - then at least if it's not the result you want you will have a night out to take your mind off it. Do your friends know that you're trying? I've really really got my fingers crossed for you.

And the test I just did was a convincingly dark positive - hopefully dark enough to even get a smile out of DH! I will stop testing now...

Thanks bluebell, you must be really excited! Do you have any symptoms? I always thought that I'd have symptoms and know if I was pregnant! Maybe that's stupid!

I guess so about OPK - just trying to talk myself down from being hopeful really....

I told a lot of my friends we were TTC to begin with because I foolishly thought it would happen for us straight away! And then I felt really stupid and under pressure when it didn't. So I told everyone that after my dodgy smear treatment a couple of months ago we couldn't try for at least 6 months... And we hope that it'll happen for us in the meantime and we can surprise everyone!!

Congrats amanda!! I'm going to test again tomorrow for a darker line! Those blue ones are crap in my experience cheap superdrug ones were better than the CB ones! I wouldn't have bothered buying one this time round (hense my mission over the weekend getting a F.R!)

soda as far as I know the OPKs only measure the Lh hormone surge.. Not the fact you ovulated. Do you temp? The temperature change is the sure fire way to know you ovulated for sure (and when) . Don't quote me but I think you can have the surge and not release the egg . But I can't remember where I got that info from! Sometimes the surge happens in a short window (some people can miss it)
DONT give up yet, you're not out yet! Two days before is still doable, sperm can last 5 days as someone else said. I would hold out for a few days maybe test thurs/fri before the night out if AF hasn't arrived?

bonkers I'm a 'need to know' kind of woman so I would! Get a pink dye like a FR if it will keep your mind st rest. Last TTC/pregnancy I tested with an IC and did do the job, and was before AF was due, as they are very sensitive in most cases

I bought one shall test again in the morning. watch it be a waste of money now

OPKs only detect the surge, so no guarantee of ovulation. If I'm out this time round I'm to book a day 21 blood test which will test for progesterone (i.e. Proof of ovulation). But getting the surge is a positive sign.
