Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.
  5. Thou shalt not be offended by the word vagina.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others. Also known as 'the witch', 'bitch witch' and 'that one with the red shiny convertible'

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a <strong>kitten</strong> = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit), or PIATLH (Tea light holder), PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in! PONF = Pee on Nigel Farage (Self explanatory, who wouldn't?)

ROC = Receptacle of Choice - what one chooses to use for the task of POAS. Optional decorations include photographs of controversial political leaders.

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet or jizz in the eye. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Jizz in a bra = how we transport the jizz to the Sperm Queen

Shagging like <strong>Something</strong> = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession. Warning - this may happen to you if you start trying to POAS at 5dpo. PUT. THE. PISSY. STICK. DOWN. IT'S TOO EARLY!

Contraband (or Cuntraband) = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

SOTM = Shagger of the Month. Awarded with varying regularity to those viroids who go above and beyond EOD shagging in pursuit of that BFP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture. AKA Schroedingering!
TWPU - Two Week Piss Up!

Keeping your gingers = fingers crossed, yet another autocorrect development! Shortened to 'gx'

Doing A <strong>Lemon</strong> = Testing WAAAAAAAY to early!

Miroid - The male compadre of a viroid

Cat - Compulsory

Skittletits - Killer molten painful tits and nipples

Ghost jizz/goat jazz - When the amazing foof sucks up all the jizz - achieved when coming at the same time/nearly the same time.

Evening viroids!

Keep those sound like symptoms to me. I have no systems besides a mild tummy ache and some bloating (or am I just gaining wait Blush.

One week till AF and not at all hopeful this cycle but I know somewhere I'm hoping DTD outside my fertile window while I was away will result in baby :)

LondonGirl83 · 23/09/2015 19:57

Jelly your DD is a Star. I'm wildly impressed you are ready to try again so soon!

justtheonethen · 23/09/2015 20:10

I'm knackered too. But that's because work is insane. I'm annoyed my boobs aren't sore like they normally are so I don't think I actually ovulated Sad

justtheonethen · 23/09/2015 20:11
justtheonethen · 23/09/2015 20:12

Wrote most pathetic letter to Dr today begging for any other option than blood test, he's going to think I'm.a loon.

justtheonethen · 23/09/2015 20:12

And I googled my fc consultant and he looks v scary, hopefully he can scare with baby up!

justtheonethen · 23/09/2015 20:13

*a not with! Sorry for thread hogging

Tinktheterrible · 23/09/2015 20:16

Missed a few pages there, will catch up.

So sorry for your dd cori hope she gets the best possible care. I know it makes all the difference.

Welcome newbies Smile

keep hooyah. Also, the fc will advise what gives you the best chances. I don't think you get options laid out on the table, at least I didn't, they just said its this, then this.

lil it only takes one my lovely. Thinking of you, hope you're keeping your chin up.

ill Gx for a more productive cycle for you.

black how is mum and friend?

chat do you have dates then? Tenants can eff off after a month in all leases I've been involved in.

Page has turned over and I can't remember everything else Blush

News from me: the badger has been banished. Was having reaction to metformin so they've changed the tablet and I'm on day 2 and feeling much better. Smile

JellyBaby26 · 23/09/2015 20:33

She is an absolute trooper! But I'm still grieving over not having a "normal" baby and am very maternal.

Was surprised that dh agreed to go for it again but it's looking likely that we may never know dd's diagnosis.

I'm convinced I have sore boobs, but perhaps that is from me manhandling them ?!

lildottie · 23/09/2015 20:42

keep icsi is usually last resort. You have iui and ivf before that.

If all OK with dhs swimmers and your tubes are clear they may suggest iui. That's where they monitor you and push the sperm right up where it needs to be right as you're about to ovulate.

If there are problems with sperm that are not major, ie low count, or your tubes are blocked, the ivf is usually offered. Ivf is super ovulation (taking meds to mature as many eggs as possible in one cycle) taking them from you and putting in a dish with sperm to fertilise on their own.

Icsi is ivf but if there are significant sperm quality issues I.e low motility (not swimming right) or low morphology (odd shaped) then they do ivf but instead of during eggs and sperm in a dish they inject one sperm into each egg to fertilise them.

There are also other considerations. If sperm fine but you aren't ovulating, they usually offer clomid for up to 6 months while you continue to try naturally. Clomid helps you to ovulate naturally and also increases chance of multiple eggs being released. Of course if your tubes are blocked there's no point in this.

Fc should give you blood tests if not done by gp (day 21/amh/FSH/lh (some do amh but others prefer lh/FSH) and an xray to check your tubes as well as an ultrasound to check for cysts, scarring etc etc. After those tests are done they look at everything and suggest what best course of action is.

just both the consultants at my clinic are foreign and I was worried they'd be awful and I wouldn't understand them. They are both really lively people. And I like that the female one seems to do the procedures leaving the male one far away from your fanjo! He just does the appointments discussing options! Gp will I'm afraid think you're a loon. There is no other way as far as I'm aware than a blood test. Child birth I'm told is far worse. You need to woman up if you want help to have a baby. Have you been temping? Can you show them charts as proof you are ovulating? They will still need bloods for ovarian reserve so they can calculate Ned's for iui/ivf/icsi if you go down that road.

Keepatit · 23/09/2015 20:59

The oracle lil has spoken Grin thank u for that! It's all waaayyy over my head when googling. I just googled low motility which is what they have described to DH (not active enough). I know they will do more tests and don't anticipate anything like ivf etc. Would even be considered until mid next year at the earliest. Although I have told DH he is banned from cycling Blush

london every month I get hurty nips running up to AF but this month I haven't, so far. Gx that's a good sign, because so many people say they didn't get symptoms in their BFP cycle.

just when is the witch due for you? You normally echo me so is it sometime soon? I'm sure I ovulated this month so I'm hoping the no nip pain is a sign hooyahs self

YouBastardSockBalls · 23/09/2015 21:51

I'm glad there's plenty of hooyahing going on, I'm symptom spotting in the Cycle of One Shag but there a no symptoms to spot. Is a lack of symptoms a symptom!??

jelly welcome, your DD sounds like a little toughie Star

keep does cycling cause low motility!? Also hooyah!

lildottie · 23/09/2015 22:04

keep have you got him on 1000mg a day of vit c yet? My dh has gone from 3% motility to 12% after 6 months and after another 8 months his sample the other day was "really good" which I take to mean is back up in decent well above borderline figures. I swear this is all from taking the vit c. He's taken it religiously since the consultant told him to. here's the study into it.

Ain626 · 23/09/2015 22:05

Just had a quick read through to catch up...

cori Flowers for you and your DD. I'm sorry I can't give any constructive advice. Unmumsnetty hugs for the both of you.

tink yay for banishing the badger!

Lil 5 (maybe 6) is great. And that post summarises the different treatments quite nicely.

keep sorry if I missed this.. where are you in your referrals? Was it you who was asking about temping for your appointments? I don't think they value temping much, but are interested in dates of periods/bleeds.

Welcome to the newbies. Grin it's good to have you.

I am extremely tired. Not been sleeping well at all recently. Sad off to try and sleep now...

Keepatit · 23/09/2015 22:11

So I've read youbastard! How true it is, I don't know! It's not a chance I'm willing to take... Would hate to think all this time has been due to his cycling habbits WinkGrin

lil he's taking pregnacare capsules (we are both taking the him/hers ones). We've been taking them for about 2-3 months. He eats lots of fruit, veg, salad - would he still need the 1000mg vit c too?

Keepatit · 23/09/2015 22:14

Hi ain! aside from tired, how are you otherwise?

It appears loads of us are tired therefore I will banish the thought of it being a symptom for me Grin

I don't think I asked re temping... But I jabber on that much I tend to forget what I've put Grin I've never took my temp throughout anyway. Just waiting for referral letter now.

lildottie · 23/09/2015 23:03

Yes keep dh was on wellman for 12 months or so before the first sa, 3% motility despite the wellmans.

Keepatit · 23/09/2015 23:05

Ah right okay - will be picking up some better tablets for him tomorrow then! Thanks lil x

coribeth · 23/09/2015 23:33

Thanks to all the viroids for kind words and support, Can't remember who asked but my DD was 10weeks we were both excited about the scan as there was no indication of any probs in fact she is still having morning sickness etc but as soon as I saw the scan I realized before the sonographer said anything so was a real shock my dd still can't take it in I think she is in denial which is understandable so although she has read through all the info and feels surgical management is for her she's putting it off hoping somehow they are wrong I wish they were but know there not.
Gx Lil for you!

lildottie · 23/09/2015 23:51

You just need supermarket own 1000mg tabs keep, nothing fancy. Wing hurt to take the ones he's on atm too tho.

bellybuttonfluffy · 24/09/2015 07:50

Morning viroids! Lots to catch up on from just 1 day!

Thanks to all for the gx and the advise re gyne appointment. IC never arrived in the post yesterday, so poas will need to wait.

Welcome to Jelly! Love someone who doesn't hang about Wink

Lil, apologies if you have posted this already, but those 5 eggs, are they using them all? Do they put 5 in or only use the 1 or 2 best ones?

When are you due to POAS Keep? gx for symptom spotting pay off!

Ain it was myself who was asking about temping. I am going for my first appointment with the gynaecologist in 2 weeks and wasn't sure what to expect. Thanks to all for advising me better Grin. I will make a note of my last few periods all... 4(?) of them in 7 months

lildottie · 24/09/2015 08:25

Hi fluffy. No they are definitely not pitting 5 embryos back onto me. The Max they will do is 3 and then you have to be over 40. So for max is 2. Unfortunately 5 yesterday doesn't mean all 5 will be viable to transfer. Last time we had 7 fertilise but by day 2 only 2 were still growing. We'll get a call today to fell us how they are all doing. If we're down to just 2 again they'll probably call us in for transfer today. There is also a risk we will get a call saying theyve all stopped growing or are dividing abnormally and may not make it to transfer. Every stage of ivf is an achievement itself!

ain didi miss how you got on at your appointment because I've been so self absorbed this week

lildottie · 24/09/2015 09:13

Well they've put us out of our misery early this morning.

1 is a 4 cell and 3 are 2 cells. The 5th is a 2 cell but has some fragmentation. They've booked me in for transfer tomorrow at noon.

Feeling more positive knowing all 5 are still going. Dh even thinks we'll have something to freeze. I'll just be happy to have something to transfer!

fruitlovingmonkey · 24/09/2015 09:26

Brilliant news lil you'll be upduffed tomorrow! Hooray for science!

I popped into the shop below my doctor's office to get a bottle of water and they had really nice cucumbers. My regular shops haven't had them in this week so I bought 2 without thinking and now I have to go to my gynae appointment carrying 2 cucumbers!! having a Feathered moment wondering what they will think of me

honeysucklejasmine · 24/09/2015 09:54

Lil that's fantastic! PUPO tomorrow! Yay!
