Immune /natural killer cell treatment when ttc or pregnant (aka the 17th pred thread!)

This is a thread for those diagnosed with high or very high natural killer cells and trying to concieve or are pregnant and taking steroids/intralipids etc

Newcomers very welcome

A few ladies whi have had babies already had hydrixy I don't think anyone else here is on it but may be wrong.

I was in 25mg steroids, hydroxy, intralipids (4.0,8,12 and 16 weeks), prigesterone, asprin and the normal oregnancy vits.

So I've emailed Louise who has said that I have to go back after 2 cycles as I need to be assessed as to how I am on the drugs, I'll then be given 4 months worth. Sounds ridiculous! I was on the drugs for long enough with the last ill fated pregnancy surely for them to be happy with how my body reacts to them?

Ps seeking I know that's wot mr s does when u first go on them. I had to see him after 2 Months too...but surely if u have already done all this seeing I'm again isn't helpful? Did Louise know that u have been on them before?

I'm not sure. I would assume so as I'd asked her a question after the miscarriage. Now I don't expect her to know every patients exact history but surely it can't be hard to look it up?? I'm gonna double check. Thanks Trying x

Sorry to hear that Seeking... She said the same to me. I've been given 2 cycles worth and will need to go in after that. I've bee quite irritated with them lately especially with the intralipid change...

Hi Billy- I'm on hydroxy as well! I started out on a single dose from end of March until end of April, then have been on a double dose since then (miscarriage mid June).

What's tlc?? I'm on holiday will miss it :(

Ps I was also on hydroxy last time but for a diff reason to mr s uses it for. My ivf team found a pa1 mutation?! Which mr s and also Argc don't test for! Any ways I was on it for 3 weeks pre transfer and it didn't work.
I'm telling myself my last loss was chromosomal as I was on every med and it still failed!
My second mc was at 9 weeks....apart from that one I loose them at 5-6 weeks.

TLC is a channel... You may have it but haven't noticed it? We have sky but just the basic package (no special channels). Maybe you can record it?

It's really annoying! And I can't get for another 3 weeks at least! I can't keep taking time off work to go just because they won't give me more drugs. I've asked Catherine to ask DrS, I was on the drugs for 6 weeks, I'm pretty certain I'm ok on them!

I'm definitely going to watch that programme!

Seeking- do you have enough left for this upcoming cycle? Soooo irritating I know. If you remember I had a proper rant about them not so long ago. Last time I asked for meds she asked when I'd last been in and I said end of July so she said I'd need to come back after two more cycles.... Seems so pointless! When I same him in July he told me what could have been the equivalent of a 5 minute phone call or 5 line email... I understand he needs to be paid for his services but I find having to pay for visits just when ttc is a real kick while you're down... Especially with intralipids being so expensive and now exclusively in London!

Yeah I've got enough for this cycle drttc and I've got an appointment at the end of the month. It just leaves a bit of a bad taste in your mouth doesn't it? It's not cheap or convenient to be popping in every few months when ttc. I completely get it when actually pregnant but feel this is a bit much. Don't know wether to try my gp...?

It really does, seeking! It may be worth having a chat if you have a good GP? Or maybe a local fertility clinic? I've been referred to mine and I'm not entirely sure what they'll offer me (if anything) but anyone else helping is a bonus.

Try ur Gp. Like I said mine always gave me everything even my hydroxy! They just wanted to read the consultant letter first and then I got them. Go in there expecting he will prescribe it! Fingers crossed will save u a lot of hassle! X

Dh sperm count has dropped a bit more :( they just saw occasional sperm for the freeze he did yest. I just want to get on with our cycle while we know he has a few sperm but this bloody tnf!! We have loads frozen as back up luckily but frozen not as good as fresh. Honesty this drama is never ending! Need my holiday !!

Yet weighed myself. Lost 3 of those pounds I put back on. Like we all said much have been water. As only took 3 days to loose! Any ways till Italy I refuse to have a binge or a day off. Ideally if I'm 10stone 13 by next Friday I'll be ok with a stay same/gain 1 pound
Ur stories about staying same on holiday have inspired me! I think it's amazing to be so disciplined when away. So I'm gonna do the same! It's clearly possible! Thanks girls :)
