Waiting to try, and cycle a mess from the pill

Just wondering if there are any other lurkers in the same boat as me, planning to TTC in December/January?

I came off the pill three months ago and have only had one pathetic AF in that time, so very glad I came off early but also pretty anxious at how messed up things are, 1st cycle was 39 days, this one is 40 and courting.

So who's with me? I can't be the only person on here who is actually hoping for AF!

Sunny - u should test again I'm a few days , I got the very faintest of faint lines at 12 and got what was a def line on 13 dpo was using the £ tests X
Didn't have symptoms either and we only dtd on days leading up to ovulation and once on the day of positive opk bcoz he was working away after that X

Here is my pic I literally just took about half an hour ago im astonished how much different it is today than yesterday. We dtd yday and tbh we only do it every other day so I'm just going to keep it at that routine!

Aw I've got my fingers crossed for you sunny I know the wait must be unbereable and so slow for you! Like gx91 said try it before day 14 if you've got that feeling!!

Vicky when did you last have AF i haven't even had one and I only came off the pill at the start of the month tbh we wasn't planning this early only planning after new year.. But hoping to catch for December haha! Keep using the opk stick that's all I've done! Xxx

Chapman- I would say that was a positive ! Dtd over the next 36 hours and u should b I'm for a very good chance ! Fx for u !

I'm ok ta just very tired ! Not really morning sickness but food aversions making it very hard to want to eat anything or cook , been sticking to cereal and baked potatoes lol x

I will do don't worry! Think il rest tonight and dtd tomorrow like I said not the end of the world if say for example mid December I have a AF or bfn I'm just glad I'm seeing some progress after hearing stories of it taking months/years for the body to get back to normal!

Oooh chapman!! Great line! It's like magic when it goes dark overnight isn't it! Lucky you with your body going back to normal so quickly.

Not that I'm obsessed with peeing on a stick but I had one like that in the afternoon, and did another in the late evening and it was really dark!! DTD.

Yeah I will try to hold off too at least 12dpo now.. 14 if I can but I probably can't! Lol xx

Chapman nothing wrong with testing the whole TTC business can be very tiring ! We have gone bk to dtd twice a week if I am awake lol xx

The signs are looking good Chapman!! Looks like you could be in for a good chance, perfect timing & that's the best place to start!
I stopped taking the pill in May, didn't have AF until 8th October, so on day 36 now. Really don't want to be waiting as long as last time!!

I have ordered some OPK sticks. I don't know if I should start using them as soon as the arrive or wait until AF has been. What would people suggest?

Aw Vicky we sound similar. My first cycle 4 months, 2nd is still going on day 41, but pretty sure I OVd last week so think this cycle will be about 46 days, so getting shorter. Fingers crossed yours will too! The opks have definitely helped otherwise I would have been unknowingly waiting for AF. Just be prepared to pee on one a day for weeks until it finally happens! You can get 50 on Amazon for a few £'s. X

I know sunny I was like what!! I was so shocked to be honest I don't know where my body is at but happy with the positive opks! I will dtd tomorrow and test again. Then leave it for 14dpo then test and if it's not bfp I won't be upset I know it does take time :) Oh wow that's fab When was that? Yeah it must be torture I must admit I can't wait to get home from work and test! Getting addicted!!

Yeah gx91 totally agree like I said can take time il only start to get stressed if we are in the same position this time next year!!

Oh bless you Vicky can't believe how irregular that has been, fingers crossed it comes again soon! As soon as I got the opk kits I tried one out just to see if they worked then I stared testing proper every day since last Monday! No harm in trying every day xxx

It's good to know I'm not the only one Sunny! Reading the posts on here have def been helping, making me realise I'm not the only one!
As soon as they arrive, I will start using them!! It might stop me thinking about it all quiet so much everyday!!

It's the weirdest thing that we all try so hard not to get pregnant for years, then all of a sudden it's all we want!

Well my temp has gone down to cover line today... Which is either late implantation or early AF. I'm thinking AF, feeling cramps, pms, bloated (nothing to do with the mince pies, lol). Will have to wait and see what tomorrow brings.. If it's implantation my temp should go right back up tomorrow. Although apparently the dip can happen without implantation.. I wish it wasn't all so confusing. Can we not just get a little uterus webcam installed?? "Uteruscam" then we would be able to tell what's occurring!

I know Vicky, we are told one missed pill and we will be upduffed for sure! All that paranoia and it's actually quite bloody difficult! Haha

Sunny - fx it's ur implantation dip , it is really annoying that pregnancy signs r so similar to AF , but cramping around the sm time could b implantation . Even if u don't catch this month it means u can enjoy all the Christmas food and beverages ! I'm going to really miss a baileys X
Newgirl- hope AF leaves u soon so u can start POAS again lol will b looking forward to hear how u get on with ur temping good luck for this cycle , it should fly in if u are busy preparing for Christmas !

I love this thread , Iv joined an antenatal one but it's so busy I can't keep up so tend not to post very often , plus Iv not really had much to share on the pregnancy aspect because I seem to b doing ok so far , I'm sure by Christmas time il b as sick as a pig lol xx

I thought exactly the same about missed pills sunny!! Used to be so overly cautious, using condoms for an extra week etc, what a waste of time!
It's such a lovely thread on here isn't it GX hopefully in time we can turn it into our own antenatal one
Next dilemma for me which I'd appreciate some advice/thoughts on. Just looking at my dates and my TWW this cycle is likely to be exactly over Christmas and new year. What are people's thoughts on abstaining from alcohol during your TWW? Bit of a controversial one possibly. We're having a family party at my mums house for new year, before she sells the house in spring, (which will be v emotional, the house I grew up in, lots of memories of my Dad who's no longer with us). Being honest I'll find it hard to abstain altogether, I don't mind cutting back but in reality I worry about getting carried away with the Christmas spirit (no pun intended). Should I just wait till Jan to try to be extra safe? Or is that silly to waste a month when it'd be unlikely to happen first time? I know loads of people who've got really drunk before they realised they were pregnant but something just feels a bit odd like I'd be taking a risk & beig really selfish knowingly drinking during the TWW . Help!!

I wouldn't b too hard on urself new girl , I had a few glasses of wine during my TWW and conceived a bit drunk , was trying to take the laid back approach because the cycle before I didn't drink at all and wasn't pregnant X
I wouldn't say get totally rat arsed incase ur pregnant , bcoz u will worry about it afterwards , but loads of ppl don't know they are pregnant and have had alcohol before they found out X
Think you know urself what's taking it too far , so it's intirely upto u
If I was past the 12 wk mark I would probably have a glass with my dinner as I did have the odd one with DD and she's absolutely fine and a smart cookie lol X X

Thanks ladies. I think I'll just play it by ear. My trouble is I have quite a high tolerance for alcohol so I can drink quite a lot without being drunk! Don't want to lull myself into a false sense of security.
I'm sure I'd end up testing before the end of 2 weeks anyway so if I got a BFP then that gives me a clear steer, I'd just have to make it look like I was still drinking, definitely wouldn't want to tell people that early not even family.

I am sad as doc thinks I have PCOS and that's why cycles are getting longer and longer. Said Pill would have been masking it.

Bloods taken - all 5 vials - so will have to wait and see now!

Hi everyone, I've been absent the past few days and seem to have missed loads! Quite stressed/busy at work just now. I'm a teacher and nativity season is upon us! Having to scrape 30 hyper kids from the ceiling at this time of year makes me significantly less broody

New girl I've been thinking the same as you with regards to drinking over Xmas/New year time. My family and friends would know straight away if I said no to a glass of prosecco, ha! Chapman, any sign of ov? Sophie, sending a hug your way. Even if it is pcos, there is so much that can be done and there's loads of pcos & conceiving success stories on here too! Keep smiling!
Well I'm on cd23 and still no signs of AF or any other possible BFP symptoms! I used an opk yest and another faint line (not like my strong ones last weekend). Who knows what is happening! Though I did appear to have some EWCM today, or it could possibly be the aftermath of BD at the weekend. Far TMI, sorry!! Xx

Gx91: I know, wish something really obvious and definite happened so you know for sure AF or pregnant! (Something other people can't see obv) Yeah love a baileys! Yum. Although I'm working Xmas day this year AND on call Christmas Day night until 9am Boxing Day... So no booze for me anyway!

Newgirl: I'm still drinking in the 2 week wait, I wouldn't get trashed but I'd happily have a good few glasses of wine. The baby isn't even connected to your blood supply until after implantation so it's fine. You don't wanna miss out on the festive season and making final memories in your family home if you don't get pregnant that month.

Chapman: are your opks still positive? Mine stayed pos for 2 days. Hope you feel better soon!

Sophie. Have they referred you for scan as well? I think you need bloods and cysts on ovaries to confirm. Have you got any symptoms other than long cycles. I have long cycles too and am suspicious about having pcos.

So... Cramps all day!! Kept thinking AF was starting. Checked cm... (Sorry I know you don't wanna know!) mix of creamy and egg white (haven't had egg white since OV) AND a tiny tiny stringy bit of pink blood in it! Don't know if this is a tiny bit of implantation bleed, or AF coming or Iv just scratched something whilst eagerly probing for cm!! Haha. So crazy as always over here! I KNOW you guys can't tell if it means anything, but I feel better for telling you. Trying not to gross the husband out!

Cookie , sounds like u mibi ovulated last week when getting dark OPKs - mibi means ur in ur TWW now so BFP or AF will arrive around 14 days after u tested positive for ovulation fx for BFP obv! Lol I had milky cm at end of TWW but I know everyone is different , could be reminents of last night lol xx

Lol my OH gets grossed out ( Iv been very wet down there lately) and sometimes I just shove a hand in my pants to check it isn't blood ! Lol think he thinks I'm a right wierdo much easier to share the gross truths with u guys! Xx
