Waiting to try, and cycle a mess from the pill

Just wondering if there are any other lurkers in the same boat as me, planning to TTC in December/January?

I came off the pill three months ago and have only had one pathetic AF in that time, so very glad I came off early but also pretty anxious at how messed up things are, 1st cycle was 39 days, this one is 40 and courting.

So who's with me? I can't be the only person on here who is actually hoping for AF!

Ooh good symptom with the nosebleeds then. Hopefully AF gets out of the way quickly so you can get onto new cycle.

Yeah ff is better for temping. Draws you a cover line at OV based on your temps, which ovia doesn't. And i think the chart is easier to read.

Iv had a Google.. Just lots of lovely positive cheery stories about pelvic inflammatory disease, stis and cancer! Lol. Think il step away from Google. Don't think I have anything like that (and I'm a bit of a hypochondriac so I would probably have noticed symptoms). They seemed to be talkin about general pain during sex and Iv not had it before. X

Thanks for the advice girlies il start to look into that this weekend is ther an app I can use for temping?? I have an iPhone haha.. I seriously have no clue on what in doing so I'm so thankful for all your help! You seem like pro's at ttc! Xxx

Chapman, don't worry you will pick it all up quickly. Iv only been ttc for two months and temping for one. I loiter on a few threads so pick up quite a lot there. And the fertility apps give you loads of info. Fertility friend is definitely best for temping, you can get free app for I phone. Fertility friend also has a forum which I don't use (I'm obsessed enough without another forum) but it's helpful having a look at other peoples charts on there. X

Yvonne, we have been trying since May when I stopped the pill. AF has only made 1 appearance since then!!

Hi cnchapmanxx. I'm using Ovia app. Your able to track everything on there.

My thermometer has just arrived...luckily with it being Xmas and packages arriving for that I was careful while I unpacked the parcel as my Mother in Law was here! Could have been an interesting conversation. We haven't told anyone we r trying.

Although AF made an appearance on Thursday its basically stopped now - i can deal with 2 day periods haha . No real pain but have felt very tired but was rushing about all yesterday.

I did put my withdrawal bleed on Ovia, just so i can track when it happened although im not thinking of it as a real period but seems odd that was on the 26th Oct and my period appeared on the 26th Nov! No huge mood swings like i was having on the pill so a huge selling point to my OH

Thanks Vicky I've got that app but find it useless cause it's tellin me today should be my best day to get pregnant says I'm on 10.0 for fertility but I've done my opks and it came back negative so just going to have to wait for AF to show its face haha! Just hoping it's before Christmas as we fly to New York on Boxing Day! Il be on holiday with my kits and temping haha! Vicky did you buy your temp thing from eBay? Do I need to buy one to measure my temp? Xxx

Lots of posts of posts to catch up on! Been out Xmas shopping today and thinking how lovely it would it would be to have an extra seat at the table next Christmas (or high chair!) This time of the year is made for kids! New Girl, I'm on CD20. If my OPKs are anything to go by then I potentially ov'd last Sunday and could test next weekend. My cycles are so long though I just have a feeling I haven't ov'd at all yet! Hoping AF passes quick for you and you can look forward to trying this cycle

I'm struggling with the app at the moment for the same reason, but have only been using it for about 5weeks. I guess the more information we put in it, the longer we use it for and as our cycles get in to more of a routine it will be more useful. I like it because you can store all the information in one place.
Yeah I bought mine from eBay. Haven't got it out of the packet yet. As soon as my mother in law left we went out and haven't been back long. I'm going to open it up in the morning and start using it from Monday.

Same here think we are both struggling maybe because we haven't had AF?? I've just bought one of them basal thermometers from eBay so will start using it once I get it and sack the app off as I feel I'm relying on this app at the moment!

Hi ladies. Ovia is only really useful for recording your data initially, almost have to ignore the predictions! It works better once you have gathered lots of months of data. Initially it's basing everything on an average 28 day cycle... Or whatever you've told it you have. My 1st 98 day cycle it got very upset and moved my OV date all the time! I had about 5 different patches of EWCM before I actually OVd. If you want to pinpoint OV you need to temp and do opks.. Then the app will interpret them to give you more accurate predictions.

After saying my nipples felt better, they are really sore tonight. Got a pinchy pain (not as bad as OV) right side or pelvis... Although I get this throughout cycle. Only 7dpo... Note to self: stop symptom spotting!!!

Sunny that's really interesting that you get a Ov type pain throughout cycle, I've never kept an eye on this before but I did notice it this cycle.
My therm has arrived too, going to start tomorrow. Ladies who have been doing this for a while, how exacting do you have to be about doing it at the same time each day? Or is it more about doing it first thing upon waking, whatever the time? I'm not a morning person haha.
Newer ladies Chapman and Vicky, you are totally right that Ovia will be useless until you've had a proper AF. Just track your symptoms, ignore the predictions .
I've just got a new app as well as Ovia, it looks like fertility friend but a bit prettier !! It's called Kindara, lots more specific track of options on there than Ovia. I'm going to us both for a while.
AF has fully kicked in today and I've got cramps, sore boobs, the lot! That makes my last cycle 30 days, compared to 38 last month. Hopefully they'll stay more around the 30 mark.

Hopefully that's your body settling into a short cycle NewGirl. Any sign of AF yet other ladies? Im just so confused that Ive had no CM whatsoever this cycle. Had loads last month! If I were to have a 28 day cycle then AF would be due next Mon. Just hoping I don't have as long to wait as last time. If I got a BFP that would be a massive (and lovely!) surprise! xx

I want to stress that u can still ovulate normally in long cycles after the pill I was having cycles of 38 -42 days and was ovulating around cd 19-22 and managed to get pregnant , think if it wasn't for the OPKs and other information I looked up we would have missed it , the Internet was very helpful there! I found I was very dry down there and only had EWCM for 2 days then dried up again so thought something wasn't right ( I was checking everyday too)
Also was checking cervix position but that turned out to be no help as it was soft and high the whole time and even now my pregnant cervix doesn't match the description of a pregnant women's lol X
Really excited for u all and hope to see some BFP very soon X

Hi Gx, how are you feeling? Thanks for the advice. It really is uplifting! I think CM is definitely the best indicator for me. Even though I was 55 days last month, I had definite EWCM exactly 14 days prior to AF. Haven't had this yet this month so maybe I've just not ov'd yet! I'm trying not to put too much pressure on DH at the moment, though it's frustrating that he can't seem to understand the importance of timing and the mechanics of DTD around Ov! Xx

Cookie - ur right about them not understanding , there really is only a 24 hour window for the egg survival ! I had no idea it was that short X
As soon as I had EWCM and lines on opk s I was telling him to get the pants off lol ( think it made me crazy ) but u gra do what u gra do lol X
It's hard for us ladies when naturally it's all we can think about and time seems to tick by so slowly ! the men have it too easy so I say they should stop moaning and get on with it lol X

Evening girls don't know why but my phone hasn't been notifying when new posts have been on annoying!! No sign of AF however I did a opk today and I got the slightest faint second line I took a pic so don't knew whether it is positive or not! Maybe yous can have a look! Anyway I got DH to dtd haha!

Hi all. Welcome mrsmogz. It's good you are coming off pill now, give your body time to settle down.. Although lots of us planned to do the same and ended up "trying" sooner! Haha.

Chapman, how long have been doing opks for? If that's the first 2nd line you have got I would say keep doing one a day, hopefully you are in the lead up to OV. It's not positive until the 2nd line (the one nearest the wee dip) is as dark or darker than the control line. If you look back through thread I posted a pic of my 1st proper positive. I got faint lines on all my negs. But best thing is regular sex!! Some people never get positive opks and still get pregnant! :) xx

Haha I hope so this is the first time since doing opk that I have got any where near a faint line! This is my 7th stick only started doing them last week when they got delivered I just had a feeling cause when we were shopping around asda I felt so sick and had pain in the left side. Aw thanks sunny I will continue to test and hopefully they get darker! But yes lots of regular sex my husband is loving it haha!

Hi chapman, line on opk any darker today?

My temp is still going up, although Iv slept SO badly last 4 nights Iv done my temp at really random times, and after really broken sleep, not the solid 3 hours you are supposed to be asleep before temp so who knows!! Did my temp at 5 this am when I woke up as I knew if I did manage to get back to sleep it wouldn't be for long. In was 36.46.. By the time I Did eventually drift back off I got another hours sleep, tested again at my normal time 7.30 and it was 36.66. Makes quite a difference to my chart but as Iv already OVd it can't make me more or less pregnant that I already am. It's just interesting to see the difference.

Stupidly peed on a stick this morning. Obviously a BFN! Only 9dpo... Getting impatient. If the ICs weren't so cheap I wouldn't be tempted! I know it will be neg any way as didn't dtd much in fertile window, and absolutely zero symptoms... but can't help myself! Addict! Haha x
