Hello!! ???? I'm new here and after reading some threads I think I'm in desperate need of a glossary!! Could someone possibly give me a run down of some of the most common abbreviations used here - as I am truly clueless and will go bald from head scratching! :D Gratitude in advance!

Hi Drgee most common abbreviations on this thread will be:

Opks-ovulation predictor kits
ttc- trying to conceive
Af-aunt flo/ period
Cd- cycle day
Si-soya isoflavones
Epo-evening primrose oil

Erm I'm sure others will add more

God I hate babybombs - dread them all the time and there are so many recently that would be exactly what my dh would say, he thinks all I need to do is chill out, seriously?!! dr are you really a doctor? A medical one?! Another abbreviation you need is DTD - doing the dirty I think anyhoe sex aka BD = baby dance. Also bfp and bfn big fat positive and negative.

There must be something in the air kitts it's a total rotter of a headache. I've tried a bit of yoga that hasn't helped so popped a couple of paracetamol. Fx that works

I'm currently cycle day 12.

Cycles average at 32days although last cycle was 29days.

Got my first flashing smiley face on clearblue opk this morning and last month I had five days of those before I reached peak fertility.

Brilliant! I've literally made a note of all of them!! Not a medical doctor - Doctor of philosophy, which isn't helpful at all!! I'm 33 and have never had a bash at ttc (check me out) before so figured hanging out with normal people in similar position would actually be far more useful than scouring lots of clinical pages - thank you for having me!

Wow the group really is split into two camps.....cd3 camp and the 13dpo camp! That's if there's anyone left in the 13dpo camp other than me and baby? Everyone is either pg or af'd.....

frog it's nice having some time out isn't it, I enjoyed my time away last month, despite missing everyone, but it really helped me relax and get that egg popped out! Can't give up on temping though, I think I'd be more stressed not knowing if I've had a thermal shift or not!

nomio fantastic news on the house, not long at all to go now! Are you starting to get packed up? Yay for getting to the gym! I'm trying to do more toning work, I did some kettlebells at home last Friday and my legs hurt like hell for three days! It just shows that running on its own isn't enough!

kitten I'm not sure about the mini eggs? Yeah I hate baby bombs. I'm 35 so I'm getting hit with them on a regular basis. Even the people who I never thought were interested in babies are getting pg. It feels like I'm the only person I know left without a child of my own, apart from two of my friends who don't want kids- but I'm fully expecting them to babybomb too at this rate!
