dizzyn start on a relatively low dose and take them at bedtime to minimise symptoms. Hope they do the trick.

Nomio23 · 27/08/2015 19:59

So what do you all have planned for the weekend? I am off to see my niece & nephews, then on Monday going straight to my sister's house to see my other nephews! I can't wait!

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 28/08/2015 06:05

Af has arrived nice and late must have been the sis. I was getting really carried away thinking I was pregnant. I've had a good cry.

Updated stats BeauticianNotMagician81,34,ttc #4, cycle 12, BFP due 29th September

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 28/08/2015 07:53

Can anyone link me to the opks they use please. Was going to get some from eBay but there are so many

Hairstylisttoboris · 28/08/2015 09:16

Really sorry beautician for AF

I buy: www.amazon.co.uk/One-Step-Sensitive-Ovulation-Fertility/dp/B001G7STT0

I mostly get these coz they are cheap and I can pee on them without worrying about cost.

loopylou1984 · 28/08/2015 09:19

Agh I've missed loads! I thought mumsnet was down again, but it turns out it's just the app! Xx

Kirjava · 28/08/2015 11:06

Sorry AF got you beaut

Does auf still lurk on here?

So I think my progesterone is low/I'm oestrogen dominant. My thyroid tests have previously been borderline, I spot before AF and have a shorter than ideal lutueal phase, as well as other symptoms.

I've started taking the full b-vit complex which fx will sort me out, but my lovely DH is totally up for me going to a private fertility Dr to get tested if I don't get a bfp this cycle. I'm not sure whether to try my nhs Dr (I've been trying less than a year and I know NHS Drs tend not to think short luteal phase is a real issue so don't want to waste anyone's time although boris I remember you mentioned one of the doctors at the surgery was ex-fertility clinic...) or to stump up cash now to see if there's something wrong and a quick fix, or just try to be patient and stick it out until January when it'll be 12 months. WWYD?

Nomio23 · 28/08/2015 11:49

Kit, I have the same problem & has to go private to get it taken seriously. I would definitely recommend the progesterone pessaries. NHS doctors are not allowed to prescribe these, so even if you get a sympathetic one, they still can't do anything.

Kirjava · 28/08/2015 11:51

nomio how did you find your private doctor? What was the process from getting the appointment to getting the pessaries, and dare I ask the cost...?

Are you in your new house now lovely?!

Nomio23 · 28/08/2015 15:27

Not yet. ???? The people at the top of our chain had their purchase fall through, so we have all been delayed while they find somewhere new, get surveys done, etc. So annoying!

I just googled for private gynaecologists in my area. I originall went to get Clomid & the initial consultation was about £250 I think, but that was in London. Our second appointment I asked about the pessariies & I think that one cost £140. The bullets themselves were £60 something for 3 months supply in Boots, but you can get them cheaper online.

Even though I still don't have my BFP, I would recommend the prog. to anyone with a short LP. They worked really well for me & stopped the raging PMT I often get.

Hairstylisttoboris · 28/08/2015 19:15

Ladies I need advice. I'm taking soy again. Last night we had a party and I went to bed drunk Blush and forgot to take my third dose if soy. I took it this morning. 10 hours late. Do I go back to normal and take tonight's dose tonight? Have I buggered things up completely? Any ideas?!

Kirjava · 28/08/2015 19:21

boris I'm not sure but maybe take the next dose in the morning rather than tonight esp if you're taking 200mg as you don't want to take too much.

Rainy34 · 28/08/2015 20:52

boris i have no idea, but what kirjava says sounds sensible, you don't want to mess up your cycle!!

Nomio gosh its a lot of money going private but its money well spent if they can help, I am hoping at my next fertility appointment they will prescribe me with some prog, hope you get your bfp soon!!

beautician sorry af has got you, totally messes with your mind when it does not come on time, hopefully the SI helps you next month!!

I had my day 19 (21) blood tests taken at the hospital on Monday, it was instigated my the fertility people instead of my own GP, i don't have another appointment until November, I would really like to know how it went, but i don't know who to contact, does anyone have any suggestions?

Nomio23 · 28/08/2015 23:56

Rainy, even if the GP didn't order the tests, the results should have been sent to them. I would try ringing & ask. If they don't have them, they might be able to tell you who does.

I was told by the NHS consultant that they can't legally prescribe prog. because it is not approved for use in lengthening LPs. They can only prescribe it for PMS. Private doctors don't have the same restrictions.

Boris, I don't know anything about soy, but my instinct would be to carry on taking the rest of the tablets as normal & hope for the best. At least it sounds as if you had a good night out!

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 29/08/2015 07:25

Boris as others have said I wouldn't have taken extra SIs last night.

Sorry need to update my stats again as Af Now due on 30th September. Finally have full flow this morning. My mum is visiting this weekend so should keep my mind off everything. I'm worried we won't have much of a chance ttc this cycle as DH is working away for two weeks. Then he is local for a week then working away until the end of October just back at weekends Sad

Rainy34 · 29/08/2015 09:00

Thanks nomio will phone gp next week,
There is so many loop wholes regarding fertility, it is so frustrating,

beauticuan sorry af has arrived, hope you are not touch In pain, will be nice to spend some time with your mum, hope you enjoy x

Beansprout30 · 29/08/2015 15:13

Hello ladies, have been trying to keep up with all the news but have been off work for two weeks and on holiday..was hoping to see more bfps but seems af has been busy instead.Angry

I've just come back from my first acupuncture session and thought id report back for anyone who might be interested. So the session was 1.5 hours long, starting with a consultation where she asked me lots of questions about my cycle, lifestyle, exercise and some quite random questions etc. She then took my pulse on both wrists and she said my pulse was 'wiry' and it skipped a beat - she suggested I mention this to my gp. She also looked at my tongue and said it was pale and quivered (lol!) which all tied in with my pulse reading.

So then she stuck the needles in my feet and one in my head and I lead there for about 20 mins. I have to say, at first I thought wtaf am I doing this isn't going to do anything!! But after 5 mins I felt completely relaxed and floaty, it felt great. So after she poked this hot stick thing ( cant remember what it was called), five times in each ankle and then a needle again in each. By the end of the session I have to say I felt so chilled, dh noticed how calm I was as soon as I met him back in the carpark.

Acupuncturist picked up on the fact I often have cold hands and feet which shows circulation problems and suggested I use a hot water bottle on my lower back. She's booked me in for my 2nd session a week today and I'm going to go weekly (til I get a bfp or im bankrupt!) I mentioned my concerns about my 10 day luteal phase and she said not to worry at all about it and doesn't think this is a problem.

Looking forward to my next session and hoping it might do some good!!

Hope you all have a nice bank holiday weekend x

Rainy34 · 29/08/2015 16:41

Beansprout sounds like you had a lovely relaxing experience, hopefully this will lead you to your bfp, i am looking into reflexology, there a reflexologist that specialises in fertility, think once i might consider this , as i am not very good with needles x x

chopsface · 29/08/2015 17:00

Your appointment sounded lovely beansprout never had acupuncture. However I do have reflexology. Shame you don't live local rainy or I'd recommend my lady. She said all the ladies who bad come to her to fertility issues had got preg! I'm continuing treatment throughout pregnancy too as there are claims I will have an easier labour! Only 3 more sessions booked in before the big event eeeeeek!

All the af's this month must surely mean at least 2 bfp's are due next month yes?!

Beansprout30 · 29/08/2015 17:06

Let us know how you get on with reflexology rainy if you do go ahead. You needn't be scared of the acupuncture needles though, it's nothing like having an injection, you can barely feel it. I was a bit afraid to move my head though in case I snapped it off inside my head! Grin

2 x bfps for next month chops ...let's bloody hope so!! Not long to go till you get to meet your baby Smile

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 29/08/2015 18:01

beansprout your acupuncture session sounds amazing. I think I may try it this cycle. I wasn't sure as its quite expensive but I'll give anything a shot and could do with feeling calmer.

Well Af is really messing me around. I still haven't got full flow. I thought I had as I had pinky blood on tissue yesterday. So I've put a panty liner on today and I just have brown blood/cm. Completely different to every other cycle. The only thing I can think of is that SIs have done something. I'm not sure what exactly but I've never had Af like this Angry

Rainy34 · 29/08/2015 18:19

Chops my friend went to the lady that i am thinking of going too, though she did not go to her to get pregnant only in the last term of her pregnancy and she felt that it helped her labour, my goodness when are you due, your pregnancy has gone very quick x

Beansprout that sounds reassuring , i thought it would be painful , I'm such a loose, when i had my blood test it stung a lot ,

Beautician, I don't want to get your hopes up but maybe if it has not come by tomorrow do a test?!!!

chopsface · 29/08/2015 18:24

I only have monthly sessions rainy so another 3 months. Don't panic!

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 29/08/2015 18:31

rainy I really don't think it can be pregnancy I fully expect at some point I will get the full red flow. I've never had any type of Af when pregnant before. But i think I'll definitely take SIs again this cycle but maybe a lower dose as maybe they affect my cycle a bit too much. Last cycle I took 120,120,160,160 & 200.

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 29/08/2015 18:34

I'm most frustrated at when to time this cycle from as usually it's your first day of full flow isn't it? I'm now on cd35 and I'm always 31 days. I just didn't think SIs were supposed to lengthen your cycle but my luteal phase is usually short so it's probably a good thing
