Peardrop - age 33, TTC cycle #9, DS is 26 months (stopped bf soon to be 4 months ago). Af returned when DS 14months, currently on CD14 and have had 4 flashing smileys. Praying for a static smiley tomorrow! Dangling legs in air!

I don't know, Pear, I guess I'll have a better idea if AF doesn't arrive tomorrow. I think it will though.

Hope your bloods give you some answers and lead to a bfp for you soon x

peardrop2 · 26/07/2015 19:25

Oh Ava it could be a bfp Smile That would be v exciting! Hmmm I don't think my blood results would give me an answer anytime soon. The Dr said he would want to see a set of 3/4 results before considering the next step Hmm

Oh how frustrating for you pear! I suppose at least your body is being consistent in one way...so if there is a problem, it will be easy to spot from your charts if they all follow the same pattern each month?

Fx for you tomorrow Ava Smile

Tomorrow is 10dpo for me...no symptoms here except I feel utterly exhausted and fell asleep mid-afternoon for an hour today. But I am suffering from a hideous cold and generally feeling crap so that could well be the cause. I'm going to try to hold out a bit longer before I test...

peardrop2 · 26/07/2015 20:18

Wax - hold out! Good plan. You're almost at 12dpo. 2 more sleeps Smile

Omg omg! So, I've been feeling crampy around my ovaries and it's been bugging me all afternoon because half of me keeps thinking I'm imagining it. I had a gut feeling to take a ic test and 2 strong lines have come up. I've now taken a cb test and I've got my static smiley. I've peaked on cd22 SmileSmileSmileSmileSmile 2 days before last month and I've actually felt the cramping!! DH is not so impressed as obviously I now want more action 3 days in a row Grin

Yay Pear!

NAH89 · 26/07/2015 20:45

Hi all so I have a 9 month old & just started ttc number two. I still feed at night and have had one period last month. Anyone have any idea how long it will take my periods to return to normal? I have no idea if or when I will ovulate this cycle?!? I was regular 27 day cycles before I got pregnant first time.

lostindubai · 26/07/2015 21:09

Welcome NAH Smile

Speaking personally my periods were regular (28 day cycle) right from the first one I had when ds was 10mo.

I've not been on here long myself just started ttc this cycle. Wish I understood all the lingo! I do know what dtd is though Wink and can't believe dp whinges at having to do it every other night. I know we're tired but still! Different story ten years ago hehe.

MinisMama13 · 26/07/2015 21:10

Ava don't worry! I often re read after I post and wonder how I can edit! An awful night last night but I think a slight rise is fine as it was above every other one on the chart! I am 99% sure yesterday was o day but we shall see what ff thinks in a few days!
Oooo maybe your lp has increased or maybe you'll get your bfp!

Pear yay for a 2ww buddy! Although my lp varies and is on the shorter side Hmm Ewcm definitely sounds promising! Mine varies so much and is sometimes non existent! Get dtd and everything crossed this is a super fertile cycle for you!

Wax keep going! I'm rubbish at waiting but it's worth it! I am going to try and resist this cycle!

Nah I think that is the magic question tbh! I had really erratic cycles from Aug to Dec/Jan. Mine still aren't regular but I had issues with that pre baby 1!

Going to dtd tonight and hope that's enough! Tomorrow is going to be super busy so I doubt we'll get chance as insurance! Definitely had some hormone shifts today as I've felt nauseous which happened to me last cycle at about 6dpo. I was totally convinced I was pg but I now realise it's hormones! So that's one less symptom to looks for! I apologise in advance as I feel I may obsess this 10 day wait or whatever it is this time!

NAH89 · 26/07/2015 21:33

Thanks both. I've downloaded the app I used last time but have no data to put in it. It's 31 days since my last period. I've got cramping & pelvic pain but don't know if that means i might be ovulating, my af is on the way or nothing!! Makes it so much more challenging!!

peardrop2 · 26/07/2015 21:45

Hi Nah. The best advice I can give is buy a pack of 30 cheap Ovulation tests for about £3 on Amazon and test everyday as well as checking your cm.

I'm definitely ditching the cb smiley Sticks and sticking with the ic sticks!

OP posts:
MinisMama13 · 26/07/2015 22:11

I've always used the ic sticks. I had a cbfm for a while but I didn't always get peaks so resented paying for the sticks. I always did the ic's alongside anyway!

peardrop2 · 26/07/2015 22:15

That's interesting mini. Both my cb sticks and ic sticks have been saying the same thing this month. It has shown me that I could

OP posts:
peardrop2 · 26/07/2015 22:15

Could have saved money and just used ic sticks!

OP posts:
AvaAmulet · 26/07/2015 22:37

NAH, I think the average is 14 months? Mine returned at 16 months but I think the first 6 cycles were anovulatory. We were feeding a lot at the time though. Chart your basal body temperature and invest in a bunch of ic opks, as others have said, to give yourself a better idea of what's happening. Good luck x

Brilliant news Pear! Grin good luck to you and Mini x

Wax, if I ov'd 3 days later this month, like I did last cycle, that makes tomorrow 10 dpo for me too, so we're cycle buddies again! Haha! Hoping we're not again next month though - I'm crossing my fingers for you Wink x

Still no sign of AF here, or anything else for that matter. I am so blasé about ttc this month it's unreal, especially considering it's been such a big thing for us for the previous 19 months! I'm still glad we took a break from the craziness of it, as I know I'll revert to near-obsessing again as soon as AF has left Hmm Grin x

peardrop2 · 26/07/2015 23:13

Nah, yes I've also read that 14 months is the average.

I don't know whether to stop taking Agnus Cactus now that I've ovulated (peaked). Some do some don't. Hmmm!

MinisMama13 · 26/07/2015 23:40

Pear I should have added that I wasn't necessarily oving, one cycle it gave me highs from cd13 through to 30. My temps picked up ov in that time. Other cycles I'd get 12+ highs and I'd given up temping for a while so no ov confirmation. Fertility investigations showed why and then I got Clomid!
I guess, in theory, ic sticks could be misinterpreted which is why everyone goes for other stuff but I've found them good! I used them while on the clomid to confirm it was working!

peardrop2 · 26/07/2015 23:49

Mini - I haven't always had strong results with ic sticks which is why I started using cb sticks. It's been helpful to compare the two this month and see the difference as the ic are so much cheaper! It's a relief to know that I can rely on them in the future from now and not have to spend unnecessary money in cb sticks anymore! That said I would recommend the cd sticks to anyone who's finding it difficult to read the ic sticks. Especially the new advanced type because you can test every other day or every 2 days to save money!

peardrop2 · 26/07/2015 23:50

Oh and Mini I take it you're also up dangling legs Wink I think I've worn DH out now and I won't be able to persuade him to keep going tomorrow night. I have a feeling tonight might be our last attempt this month now that we've dtd three nights in a row. Fx it has worked!!

OP posts:
peardrop2 · 26/07/2015 23:53

Mini - out of interest do you think you might end up having to go the Clomid route again? Did they suggest that you might struggle to conceive 2nd time round? My friend took Clomid for our first baby but then she fell pregnant pretty quickly with her 2nd...took her by surprise.

Fantastic news pear! I am very pleased you got some proper signs too! 2ww here we come!
Oh ava any hpt AF news?
Hi nah! Welcome! Hope your stay is very short. My experience has been never. My cycles have never become regular since DC. Grin

peardrop2 · 27/07/2015 07:41

Thanks ladies. I've very excited to see an improvement from last month even though it's only small. Just to have 11 flashing smileys instead of 13 feels great and to have the OV cramps and lots of Ewcm leading up to it just feels like a massive improvement! I've decided to stop taking Agnus cactus for now. I can't find much info about it and I'm just not sure so I better stop. My theory is better to be safe then sorry!

Wax and Ava how are you doing on the agonising wait?

So happy to finally be on the 2ww! I can now sit back and relax. Last month I lasted until 4dpo before I started driving myself nuts but hopefully I can relax for longer this month! No matter what...I'm not testing until dpo13 this month!!

peardrop2 · 27/07/2015 07:47

Random question...if you dtd and have sperm waiting and then you dtd the next day and the egg is released that day. What happens to the sperm waiting? Does the new sperm fight it off because it is fresher and stronger or is it the case that the egg arrives and anything still around whether it's new or old races to the egg? I'm just wondering why they say if you want a girl only dtd the days before you peak. It kind of suggests that any sperm on your peak days has a better chance of reaching the egg but surely waiting sperm has a better chance?! Sorry maybe a bit too deep for a Monday morning Blush
