Peardrop - age 33, TTC cycle #9, DS is 26 months (stopped bf soon to be 4 months ago). Af returned when DS 14months, currently on CD14 and have had 4 flashing smileys. Praying for a static smiley tomorrow! Dangling legs in air!

Hi lovely ladies!

I hope everyone is well! Took me ages to find the thread as for some reason it wasn't on my "I'm on" list?! How rude!

Ispy boo to a bfn, big hugs and crack open the wine!

Pear I have just eaten rubbish of late, ooops Blush

I know I've missed people there sorry. Must try harder!

It's been a weird week, af was short but loads of spotting and random gushes a couple of days later had me testing. Bfn. I think I'm cd9 but not completely sure. Trying to forget about it as I don't think we can ttc for the next 2 months and then I'm sad too I was hoping to be pregnancy and due so #2 would share the same school year ad my best friends #2 but I think we would only have 3 cycles left to try for that to work and yeh. I know that sounds ridiculous but our first babies are best friends and the same age and it's so lovely to see. She's now 11 weeks pg.
I got offered a new job this week and I have to give 4 weeks notice in my current role. I'm so torn with what to do!

ispyfispi · 16/08/2015 19:17

Congrats on the job offer Mini! Also welcome to April and Dob, I still haven't had chance to read through properly but I will later, good luck on your journeys though Smile

Tmi alert! So I've had no spotting today just the tiniest bit of brown discharge so I don't know what's going on grr! I have however opened my bowels a lot today, was it Pear that was asking about that?! I guess only time will tell....

MinisMama13 · 16/08/2015 21:26

Totally should clarify - I've accepted the job. I'm torn with what to do about ttc!

Oooo ispy it could be positive!

ispyfispi · 16/08/2015 21:46

Ooh tricky with work Mini. I got pg with dd a couple of weeks after starting a new job but because pg is dated from lmp it was if I was pregnant when I started and didn't qualify for maternity pay Hmm Must be frustrating to delay ttc for such a technicality.

peardrop2 · 16/08/2015 21:56

Mini - if you didn't except the job and you didn't fall pregnant for whatever reason then just imagine how awful that would make you feel! An easier to deal with age gap and better work prospects for the future seems like the more sensible option IMO. You could both (you and your friend) end up with different genders and that could interfere with future friendships anyway! It probably works so well now because you both have girls! Also a few months might not make much difference! My ds still gets on with my friends kids really well and they have a 6 month age gap. The older they get the less noticeable age gaps are IMO.

Ispy - I read that some people experience more bowel movement around OV time and before AF arrives. It is linked to progesterone rising and falling.

That's the thing, but then I guess you still qualify for maternity allowance which is nearly the same. It wouldn't be so bad if I only had to give a weeks notice as we'd only miss 1 cycle Confused

MinisMama13 · 16/08/2015 21:59

Pear I have a boy and she has a girl!
I know what you mean though. I'm just frustrated! We may just ttc anyway but I need to decide asap!

MinisMama13 · 17/08/2015 21:31

Hiya ladies!

How is everyone? I'm living through you all as we decided no ttc this cycle while I work my notice! Booo! Loads of ewcm too!

Pear I was thinking a lot about what you said and you're so right. I just got this thing in my head about school years for some reason. I guess because the other two are hours apart in age so it won't be as scary on that first day dropping them off!

Ispy any news?

peardrop2 · 17/08/2015 22:41

Mini - Sounds like a brave decision eek! That must be very frustrating knowing that you're fertile but can't do anything about it Sad I can totally understand why you're in a school year frame of mind...once you get an idea and it sticks, it is hard to shake off Smile

Cycle 9 here. In a bit of a dilemma. I only have 5 flashing smiley sticks this month (leftover from last month) or I have 10 old style smiley sticks still to open. I also have 30 ic sticks due to arrive in the post any day now. Anyway, I tested with a ic this morning and got a faint second line. I don't really know if that means I'm going to OV earlier or not. I feel a bit unsure without my cb sticks! As I've been OVing so late (around the 20th day) I am in no mood to start dtd too early! Anyway, I think I should just trust that I am still far away from OVing and perhaps start dtd this weekend. I really will have to rely on cm monitoring this month to help save the pennies!

Sorry I meant cycle day 9 here (not cycle 9)

Mini, sensible decision but sooo frustrating!

No real news here. I was expecting af to properly arrive today and it hasn't but I only have one previous cycle to base that on, maybe I'm just going to be irregular for a while. I'm 11/12dpo so improved lp even though this cycle will actually be longer. I poas again this morning and technically a bfn, damn those imaginary lines though! I also did an opk this evening that was positive but didn't you say you had that before af Pear? Will do another ic hpt in the morning if no af still.

ispyfispi · 17/08/2015 22:54

And Pear I'm sure you're very in tune with your body by now so I'd trust yourself to know when you ov. It was quite exciting to see cm when I expected it this cycle like at least something is working!

peardrop2 · 18/08/2015 07:39

Ispy!!! Sounds like a bfp to me?!?! Were the two lines on the opk as strong as each other? Smile

OP posts:
ispyfispi · 18/08/2015 09:53

Damn these ic hpts! Faintest of all lines came up eventually but within the 8 minutes. It's not pink at all so technically negative but dh could see it too so I'm not imagining it! last night opk was definitely positive but the two lines weren't quite the same. Going to get a frer later and I've kept a fmu sample. I'll be totally gutted now as I've allowed myself to get my hopes up. I'm still a bit crampy so I'm running to the loo to check all the time. It'd be a miracle though as we're still bf a lot! Dh has the day off day as we'd planned a day out with the kids so at least I'll be distracted for a few hours now. Will report back later!

ToElleWithIt · 18/08/2015 13:38

fingers crossed ispy

Might as well introduce myself. I'm new to mumsnet and new to this thread.

I'm 34 and mum of a 16 month old. I'm back at work full time, but feeding before bed, in the morning and generally once during the night quickly to settle. We had a big trip planned and were going to TTC number 2 after that in December, but trip has no been cancelled so we decided just to go for it this month! My cycle has been back for 4 months and regular at 31 days, but I've no idea if I'm ovulating or not. Ordered some clear blue digital advanced so will give them a whirl. When should I start checking? I'm on CD1 now. I didn't use ov tests first time around, but I want to check that I am actually ovulating. Hoping that feeding won't make it much more difficult.

Leamice · 18/08/2015 20:05

Any news ispy? So exciting!

I just had my scan today, looks like I may have PCOS :( she said they look poly cystic but not nescisarrily if my hormone levels were normal and gp would decide how to proceed....will try to get a gp appointment to get sorted asap. Having a glass of prosecco to cheer myself up as I'm probably not going to be ovulating any time soon!

Leamice · 18/08/2015 20:06

Hi Elle, welcome!

ispyfispi · 18/08/2015 22:08

Holy sh*t! I bought a Clearblue Digi as I'd had enough of deciphering lines and it say pregnant ???? I'm actually terrified now and dh is as white as a sheet! Going to take a couple of days out to process this news. Catch up with you all soon x

Leamice · 19/08/2015 02:36

Wow! Congratulations ispy!!

aprilrainshowers · 19/08/2015 09:39

Fantastic news Ipsy! Congratulations!

Welcome to Elle! Sounds like good news that you have had regular cycles, I've not used the digital ovulation tests before so hopefully someone else has some suggestions, have usually just started testing when I have some ewcm..

I am on CD21 here and think I'll prob ovulate today or tomorrow based on patterns of ewcm, the same as last cycle. I have not managed to get a positive on my cheap ebay ovulation strips, and still not managed to do any charting... for those of you who have had the GP look into things did you have to say you were ttc for at least a year or can you have hormone levels checked before that??

Leamice · 19/08/2015 11:25

April, my AFs were absent after returning and GP was fine to investigate. I think they'll investigate if irregular/heavy too not really sure about the TTC angle tbh but they should check if you go to them as after all, we pay tex for the nhs! they ought to help whenever you need them lol!

I have a GP appointment later to discuss my scan results, got to love the age of technology where scan results are electronically sent rather than having to wait for post!

This thread has had lots of BFPs, hoping mine will be soon (more likely to be "thread #99" at this rate!!)

aprilrainshowers · 19/08/2015 12:13

Thanks Leamice. Hope that your appointment goes well today. Think I may try to get a GP appointment if I still have a LP defect this cycle to see if they will can rule out causes other than breastfeeding. Just feel I need to be doing something to work towards the goal if we can't really actively ttc. This month I have been updating my wardrobe to non-maternity/nursing clothes (pre-pregnancy clothes still don't fit at 20 months pp Blush) which I feel so much better in and will be more realistic to fit back into if I am lucky enough to get pregnant again!

ToElleWithIt · 19/08/2015 14:58

Congratulations Ispy

Hope the appointment goes well Leamice.

Leamice · 19/08/2015 15:33

uneventful appointment...been referred to a gyno... which is great I guess but more waiting! I want to TTC now!! not fair!!
