Peardrop - age 33, TTC cycle #9, DS is 26 months (stopped bf soon to be 4 months ago). Af returned when DS 14months, currently on CD14 and have had 4 flashing smileys. Praying for a static smiley tomorrow! Dangling legs in air!

Morning, I've woken up to CD1 never been so happy to see AF!! My app tells me that last cycle was 224 days -that's over 7 months!! Oh gosh I hope that was just my body taking a break and fingers crossed I'll Ov on cd 20 as normal this cycle. Either way I'm hoping docs can help if I encounter any problems.

Lea - that's very exciting and what a relief for you! I can totally imagine how you feel ???? I hope you get lucky this month and you don't need any Dr assistance after all!

So, looks like AF has arrived this morning Massive cramping and light pink upon wiping this morning however nothing since so I suspect she will arrive properly tomorrow. I feel really stupid for wasting so many sticks (2 OpKs, 1 cheap Sainsburys and 1 basic Clearblue from the trial). I'm proud of myself for not cracking open the digital test. However, let me warn you ladies...yesterday I started testing with IC OPKs because I didn't want to waste sticks and with Ava's recent experience I thought I'd have a go. So I got a second line on both tests. It got my hopes up which was really sad It wasn't as strong as Ava's second line but it was a definite line. Let that be a lesson to us all
So, onto cycle 10. I've got a gorgeous scrumptious son (currently destroying his DVDs collection) and 2 bottles of wine to get me through the next week Roll on cycle 10

Oh and Lea...at least we've got each other as testing buddies as I've been ovulating around the 20 day mark too. Maybe we will both Ov early this month

Pear, sorry to hear about your BFN, but it does sound like your body is now ready for another pregnancy. Thanks for the summary of your luteal phase. Seems like it can take quite some time to lengthen even with stopping breastfeeding which is frustrating but good to know to prepare myself. I am already taking agnus cactus, I read (on Kellymom mainly) that it was okay in breastfeeding so hopefully it is... I also took it while I was waiting to get my periods back after going off the pill to get pregnant with DS (which took 18 months too!), it is hard to say whether it worked or not but I got pregnant around 5 months after period returning. I had a very short luteal phase around 2 cycles before conceiving so was hoping that it might lengthen more quickly again but guess the prolactin will be hindering that...

Thanks April. I wasn't at all prepared for how long conceiving would take with no2 so I'm glad to hear someone is!! If only I had known then I wouldn't have spent so long stressing over the last 12 months!! A year feels like a very long time when you're in it. You're right...it does feel like my body is now ready. I have now excepted that a 3 year natural spacing gap is what I may get and I might have two children who share a birthday!

Btw AF seems to be more AF ish rather then spotting which is interesting! Think that is also a good sign! I guess I'm on CD1 then!

It is really weird to think that if I ovulate this month the same time as last month then there's a very high chance that both my children will share a birthday. That's a v odd thought!

pear Same here. It was two years ago on Tues that ds2 was conceived.

I'm still waiting for af to show her annoying face. On day 40 so far and my cycle lengths are so different every time.

STILL no AF here. Sigh. On the up side, DS spent the weekend at my mum's. Last time he went (about 3 weeks ago) I was in agony my boobs were so sore. This time I barely felt anything, so he must be taking less milk when he feeds? That's got to help.

pear, we are cycle buddies (fingers crossed I actually Ov) enjoy your little mn break, I'm probably going to be slightly ttc obsessed this cycle as obviously first proper cycle trying, that 7+ months of limbo doesn't count lol! I am going to get knocked up, only one month away from bfp :) I'm going with positive mental attitude!

cupcakes hopefully AF coming soon for you. Sounds promising that your boobs didn't hurt away from DS, less milk production means less prolactin... Got to be a good sign :)

Cupcakes, I know how you feel (having just got AF back a month or so ago). I read that the longer it takes to return the more likely you will return to full fertility so it might be a good thing in the end..?

Lea, I like your optimism. I was so hoping I would catch the first or second eggs, it wasn't to be for me but won't stop me hoping for the third despite an obvious luteal phase defect :/ Combined with finishing house renovations and moving in the next month it would be a miracle if we fell pregnant this cycle..

How is everybody? I'm on CD5, AF still here but light now, been heavier than the last 2 I had in Nov/Dec so hoping that's a good sign. I'm feeling impatient I want to fast forward a weeks or so, so we can get to the baby making lol! Going to start DTD Eod from about CD7 then maybe an extra day around Ov. Feeling excited :)

Evening! I've been really good and tried to stay away from MN for a few days. Last day of AF today (cd 6) and I've just ordered 30 ic ov sticks for £2.95 including delivery. Can't go wrong with that!

Totally understand how boring the wait is for OV day. If it's anything to go by the last 2 months I won't be OV for another 17 days.

How is everyone else?

Oh and I'm going to be a lot calmer this month. I've actually kind of given up in my head and I think that's probably a good thing. If I'm not pregnant by Christmas then I'll be really panicking but I suspect I probably will be. Basically I've just decided to calm down

morning, CD7, AF been much longer than normal, thought it had finished yesterday but had more in the pm, gone again though so hopefully thats it! pre baby I only had 3 day AFs, Nov & and Dec were both only 3/ 4 days,, wondering if its a good sign or bad that this one had been so long... probably over thinking it!

Well done on calming down Pear and taking a relaxed approach this month.... I'll be opposite :)

I am so depressed. Someone else I know from an old thread with a ds the same age has just announced her bfp. I don't get it. She barely tried. 2 bloody cycles of barely trying and now she is pregnant

I think I might have to leave MN and just totally shut myself off. At least everyone I know in RL is pregnant (nearly everyone). Unless my friends start announcing their 3rd pregnancies! Which will probably happen now

I've not had chance to catch up with the thread since I got back from camping but wanted to check in. Cd35 here with some spotting tonight. It looks like my cycles are getting shorter by a day or two with ovulation happening a day or two sooner which is good news I think. Still ???? though. This month was my last shot at a smaller age gap than dcs1&2. I have wine in but I'm not certain enough to crack it open yet dammit. Onto the next cycle everyone

Oh dear I had to look up what CD I am at, think it is CD18 and no sign that ovulation is imminent. DH are both in pieces with the renovations and DS is being challenging (including feeding like a newborn...) and taking hours to put to sleep. Have not even found the motivation/energy to take an ovulation test! Hoping that things calm down over the next few days and we at least manage to give ourselves a chance this cycle!

Pear, I'm sorry you are finding mumsnet stressful and not supportive... your wait and see until Christmas approach sounded like a good idea to me was thinking I would wait until then before thinking about deliberately cutting back on breastfeeding if I still have short LP....

I spy - sorry That sounds like a familiar situation. I would also agree that it must be positive to have less spotting and earlier OV! It just has to be, right?! What worries me most is that even with 2 children you feel frustrated about the Ttc wait! So I guess the frustration never leaves then, no matter how many children you have? Do you not feel more prepared this time because you experienced a wait between dc1 & 2?

April - thanks. I'm just not coping well with MN bfp announcements or even celebrity announcements. Basically anyone Completely selfish I know I'm the new Ttc me trying so hard to channel my feelings into getting stuff done around the house. I even started a "wtf why am I not pregnant to do list" today

I stopped breastfeeding sooner last time though Pear so we only started ttc once I'd already stopped and we only needed to dtd once and I was pg! Once! It wasn't even well timed, just lucky. I had no idea how effective bf is as a contraceptive. Although af has only been back for 3 months we've basically been ttc for a year this time.

Ispy - ahhh I see! I soooo wish I had started TTC only when I stopped bf! I'll know for next time I guess you just don't know how your body will react until it happens to you! My mum keeps asking me if I would have stopped earlier but no I would have just not started trying so early

Sorry for your bfn Ispy. Tg you've seen some improvement this month to soften the blow!

Today is my last day of unhealthy eating and then I'm back to being TTC sensible (ish) next week
