So, on the back of a run of rather fantastic success stories, it's time to start another thread for those of us still driving ourselves a bit nuts trying to work out why number 2 seems to be so elusive. New frustrated, obsessive testers always welcome (as are our lovely graduates) and let's hope this thread turns out as many success stories as the last.

Thanks Burning so, because my cycle length varies every month, is that a problem?

I just don't know whether to take a pregnancy test tomorrow morning or whether I should wait? They are the clearblue ones that can tell you up to 4 days early. I'll be 11dpo tomorrow because I had a positive ovulation test last monday.

RalucaMorena · 30/07/2015 19:53

Village I would wait for a day or so. 12dpo is usually first day of bfp chances but if you don't get it you are still not out. On some sites I read that implantation can occur anytime between 6-12 dpo but mostly around 9dpo so you still have chances!

BurningGubbins · 30/07/2015 20:46

No, I don't think so, unless it's varying wildly. I used to be 28 days, set your watch by it etc., but after I had my son things were a bit more erratic - 26-32 days but generally within that window. My lp was messed up by taking soy isoflavones, it brought my lp down to 7-9 days.

LittlePoot · 31/07/2015 08:49

I don't think the variation is an issue either - it sounds like it's only a couple of days different. And actually I do think 11dpo is fine for an early test. The superdrug early ones have me a feint result at 10dpo with ds and the two pregs before that.

Couldn't resist doing the test. Negative, of course. I'm going to give the dr'sva ring again. How can there not be something wrong after 12months of doing everything right?

LittlePoot · 31/07/2015 09:51

Sorry villageSad. xx

Thanks Little I know you know more than most how frustrating it is! It's starting to seem so unfair. I think it's because I have many people around me that are pregnant, are the majority did not want to be.

This week has been a strange one, really fed up, can't be bothered with general life, don't want to go to work, haven't cooked a proper meal all week because I just cannot be bothered. I wonder if this is all starting to get to me now? Oh well, today is a new day & it's time to get on with it. I'm going to look into accupuncture.

RalucaMorena · 31/07/2015 21:36

rant warning!
today is one of those days! nothing works as it should! We are both employed and self employed and within the last few months we both lost some contracts. and today we lost another!
If I wouldn't want so bad another baby or if i were younger I would be tempted to say "it's not the time". But when exactly is the right time and of course, at 37 my clock is ticking!
went for pregnacare for his&hers... well they didn't have it!
so baby - no, money - no it seems for the moment (we need to regroup and re-orientate), dear parents here and giving opinions when not asked for... OOOh yeah!
honestly! a couple of more days like today and i'll scream!

VillageFete · 31/07/2015 21:40

Raluca - I have totally had one of those days today, infact i've had one of those weeks. I sympathise. You are correct, when is the right time? There's no such thing.

RalucaMorena · 31/07/2015 21:48

I actually commented today that this month after many i didn't feel the need to look on the account and check the status, which direct debit is covered and which not. and today BAM!
tbh the baby making is keeping me sane but this is also dragging and I actually started wondering if it will ever happen? And if so, what if I have another mc?
Why is the Universe against me today and what can I do to make it change?
[at wits end]

VillageFete · 01/08/2015 10:39

LittlePoot How did the accupuncture consultation go? I've google fertility accupuncture and there's a couple of clinics not far from me. Also heard reflexology can help?

I think i'm going to try this accupuncture stuff, but read it can lead to twins ShockGrin As much as I want a baby, I don't want two!

Waitandwine · 01/08/2015 10:50

Congratulations AUF that's great news, really positive hearing things can help. I have told myself I will collect more info this month and go armed with facts for the gp. I am suspecting a short LP is my issue too.

Trying the clearblue again, on day 18 and no smiley yet, (had them twice last month so could have been dodgy batch?)

I am getting fed up of thinking about it all, so just pop on her when I need a bit of a boost. So thanks!

Waitandwine · 01/08/2015 10:51
  • should be pop on here!
LittlePoot · 02/08/2015 07:14

Just a quick one before we disappear on holiday for a week. Acupuncture was interesting. The guy talked a whole lot about the theory of it (which is pretty wooo) but actually a lot of the other stuff he said made sense and I'm going to give it a go. Not with his though because he reminds me too much of my brother (!) so I'm seeing the other woman who works there the week after I get back from holiday. Will let you know. Back in a week guys - hope for more good news while I'm away. x

Have a great holiday little xx

OutVileJelly · 02/08/2015 22:54

Hello everyone

LittlePoot, enjoy your holiday!

It was my DD's birthday today. If I had got pregnant first month of trying, there would have been a 7 month old at the festivities. Weird thought. I remember saying to DH last year "ooh we will have another by her next birthday!"

No idea what is up with my cycle. Positive opks for about 9 days. Ovulated early.

my very woo cousin did reflexology on me today, and said "huh....do you have anything in your uterus?"

Probably a fibroid the size of your fist, if i take after my maternal line!

mrsmugoo · 04/08/2015 10:38

Wondering if I can come and join this thread? I seem to be the last one left in the TTC#2 thread :(

Been charting for 10 cycles, actively trying for a few less but have consistently had a short luteal phase of between 7-9 days, my worst was only 6 days which promoted me to go to the GP to see if it could be investigated.

I know it's not impossible to conceive with a short LP but it does make it much harder and if there is anything that could be medically done to help me then DH and I are willing to do whatever we can to get it rather than keep plugging away on something that may or may not be completely pissing in the wind.

The NHS have been really shit so I now have an appointment coming up with a private fertility clinic - I really do think it's quite a simple thing to fix if only I would get the time of day from a Doctor who understands the issue rather than the cash strapped NHS that don't give a f*ck!

Anyway I'm CD26 so AF is due any day and we didn't manage to DTD at all in the fertile window this month due to being away at a festival my DH was working at over the fertile window - but it's actually quite nice to be able to actually want my AF to come ASAP and get it over and done with and know that from now on we will be getting the help we need.

Boredworkingmum020 · 06/08/2015 16:24

Ah so AF 2.5 days late - it's never late to the point of I know it starts at just before 6am on a Tuesday on day 28! But now on about 13 dpo nothing no AF no BFP! Sore BBs, feeling sick and smelling coffee at 800 paces! Can't be bothered testing again until next week. With DS my husband pointed out I was pregnant so I got a clear blue at 5.5 weeks to prove him wrong! Turned out to be the one time he was right. So blummin frustrating if it's not a BFP would rather AF showed up so could move on! aHhhh

AndThisIsTrue · 07/08/2015 14:16

Hello can I join?
We have only been TTC2 since March after coming off the pill in December. Cycles went straight back to normal then in May AF just didn't show up. June AF showed up bang on time, July AF....no show too...
Have been doing opks and have not got any positives so I'm assuming something's gone wrong somewhere. Going to see if AF shows up in August and if not will go to Drs I think. Just so confused and disappointed that its all gone weird.

VillageFete · 08/08/2015 14:40

Hello new people, really hope you get thos BFP's soon. It's so frustrating isn't it?

Well it's 12 months for me now, doing everything i'm supposed to do at the correct times and throughout the cycle and nothing. This month my cycle was 37 days, it hasn't been that long since 2013 and soon after it started to go that long I started to miss periods completely. I'm demanding tests from my GP next week, because something doesn't feel right.

Started acupuncture next week! There's a guy who is Zita West accredited and believes he could help me. Will give it a go for a couple of months & see what happens.

mrsmugoo · 08/08/2015 16:35

Cd4 here and AF is just about coming to an end.

This cycle I am throwing the kitchen sink at it! B complex religiously everyday, I'm giving up caffeine, yoga every evening to de-stress, early nights, temping and OPKs back on the agenda too. I mean what else can you do? Be healthy, time DTD perfectly...hope for the best Hmm

My fertility clinic appt is cd21 I think but hoping for a miracle and not need to spend money for more appointments!!

AndThisIsTrue · 08/08/2015 19:01

Village what happened before we you missed periods did they just come back again?
Little, can I ask about myo insoitol (sp?) I have been reading a bit about it since I saw it in your post and I think I might give it a go. Where do you get it from and how much do you take? Thanks

VillageFete · 09/08/2015 11:51

AndThisIs I don't remember too much about it, it was back in 2013 and it didn't bother me because I didn't want another baby at that point. I was worried I was ill, but the Dr seemed to think it was stress related. They just started regulating again on their own, it was very strange. I remember they sent me for a scan & said everything was fine.

This month it's jumped from 32 day cycle to 37 day cycle, no idea why. It's so frustrating! Looking forward to acupuncture.

LittlePoot · 09/08/2015 20:55

Hello lovely ladies all. Back from holidays and despite having to spend the week with neurotic in-laws, it was pretty relaxing overall. I think I've put on about a stone in crepes and cider though but never mind. I'll read back properly tomorrow but for now hello to the new people and sorry to hear lots of problems with weird cycles. That's about the one problem I've never had (yet...) so I can't offer much advice I'm afraid, but in the plus side at least if there's a problem, there may be something you can get fixed? Fingers crossed anyway.

Someone asked about the myo inositol. I bought a bag of powder from eBay (how dodgy is that? quarter of a kilo of white powder over the Internet!) and I take a teaspoon a day split over two doses in water - I think that's 4g total per day. And that's what zita west recommends. No side effects from what I can tell and I've been taking it about 6 weeks now. Worth a try for sure. Acupuncture starts this week too so let's compare notes on how we get on!

Hello, it was me that asked about the myo inositol. I bought some from Amazon so will see how I get on with it, thanks!
