So, on the back of a run of rather fantastic success stories, it's time to start another thread for those of us still driving ourselves a bit nuts trying to work out why number 2 seems to be so elusive. New frustrated, obsessive testers always welcome (as are our lovely graduates) and let's hope this thread turns out as many success stories as the last.

Yup I got two lines this morning!!!

Bought a £35 bottle of gin yesterday dh put it away in cupboard this morning with a cheeky "you won't be needing that for a while".

Now for weeks of worry and hoping I get away symptom free like last time

VillageFete · 02/02/2016 14:22

Figgy HUGE CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Flowers Oh we needed some good news on this thread, so very pleased for you xxx
Can I ask, did you do anything different? Were you using ov tests?

Figgygal · 02/02/2016 14:59

Nope not a thing different in fact we did it probably less than usual due to matching colds!! I'm pretty shocked as after months this would have been the month if have said it wasn't going to happen!!

Fruitbatyogi · 02/02/2016 20:05

Woo hoo figgy that's amazing :)

You're so right village we needed some good news round here Wink

Fruitbatyogi · 02/02/2016 20:10

I've got 2 (or possibly 3) more natural cycles before ivf I reckon, doing initial scan and nurse teaching at the start of next cycle- that'll be cycles 17 and 18 then..

Ok village concieve plus here I come :) - I'll try anything.

Hello little I'll get back to holding those thumbs for you xxxx

LittlePoot · 02/02/2016 20:25

Great stuff figgy - brilliant news! About time we had a change of luck. Hope it's a good sticky well behaved one! x

I cannot wait for this period to come so that I can start looking at my next lot of approximate ovulation dates. I am going to do the sperm meets egg plan again. What a bloody waste it was last month, I didn't even ovulate! Confused

SeekingMiracle2 · 02/02/2016 23:05

OutVileJelly I share your feelings...Our DS is turning 7 soon and have been desperately trying for miracle2 for two years now....has been stressful continiously tracking ovulation, trying to conceive and leaving with the hope for two weeks only to be once again disappointed....we decided to then seek medical advice and went to C&W hospital. After an unsuccessful IVF cycle now left with dilemma of what's best to do next. Did not have the best of experiences at the hospital - any suggestions in terms of other clinics in London that offer a bit better overall experience and consultation vs feeling just being another patient coming through?

BurningGubbins · 03/02/2016 19:09

Congratulations Figgy!

Best of luck with the IVF Little. Our packers are coming tomorrow and we're moving on Friday so I'll be off MN for a while - I look forward to some more good news when I get back!

Waitandwine · 04/02/2016 20:30

Huge Congrats Figgy, just popped by for a nosey and delighted to see good news.

Metalhead · 13/02/2016 10:40

Hi, just popped back to see how you're all getting on - congrats to figgy on your BFP!

little I'm coping much better with the early weeks this time round, thanks. Things are still tough as DD2 has reflux and will only sleep on me during the day; bf was also painful again to begin with and still is now sometimes. But while I have had a few meltdowns I've avoided PND (so far), and I bonded immediately with DD2 and love her to bits! Feeling quite guilty about not getting to spend much time with DD1 at the moment, but will try and make up for it during half term when my parents are here to help out.

Good luck with your next round of IVF, I really hope it works for you this time, sounds like you're throwing everything at it! Also keeping fx for everyone else who's still waiting for their BFP. xx

VillageFete · 13/02/2016 12:15

Metal Glad to hear you are getting on well. Can you remind me, did you do anything different to get that BFP? It's 18 months in for me now, AF turned up this morning. Was considering trying a 75mg aspirin tablet a day as i've read it can help thicken the lining of the womb or something. Also starting pre preg vits once AF disappears.

Metalhead · 13/02/2016 13:13

village I actually can't remember exactly now, but I think I'd been on inositol and Coenzyme Q10 for a couple of months when I got my BFP. Also had cut down on the wine a bit, but in the end it was probably just luck!

Fruitbatyogi · 13/02/2016 20:48

Sorry about af village - I really want know that trick or get that luck too - so bad...

Af due here between now and Tuesday- only upside is that after that can get on with ivf baseline scan - in my head at the moment though IVF offers no hope just a chance that I can feel I did everything in the future... Sigh

This negativity is probably because I have been ill all week with a hideous cold as has DD and now DH too, plague house round here. I do realise that I am very lucky that we are in a position to have IVF as an option.

Glad to hear you are doing well metal and little hope all well with you and the gear up to ivf again.

Aidycake34 · 14/02/2016 10:37

I found this thread last night and read the whole thing this morning in bed. I've been ttc no 2 for 8 months now with no success. It took me 10 months to conceive dd so I knew it would take a while this time around too. I'm 2 days post ovulation now and really hoping this is my month but I already know il be very disappointed when af inevitably appears. I will be 36 in April and my husband is 45. If I'm not pregnant I'm going to start taking coeq10 and myoinositol next month. I was taking Angus cactus but stopped last month as I didn't feel I was getting much benefit from it. The problem I have is that I spot for up to 7 days prior to af. This has happened since I stopped bfing about 16 months ago. I've been to see my gp and she did the 21 day tests which showed hormonally everything is fine but she couldn't give me an explanation about the spotting and told me to wait until the summer before panicking. I think 7 days of spotting is definitely out of the ordinary but when I spoke to dh he said we needed to give it more time. Anyway, I enjoyed reading the thread and it's given me some hope that if I keep trying then it may just happen. Good luck to you all.

LittlePoot · 08/03/2016 20:16

Hi guys - super quiet on here! Anybody got any news? I've just started ivf cycle number two. Bank balance is saying this has to be the last try but I don't know what I'm so if it doesn't work. Ds has now turned 5. I've now turned 41. Maybe it's just not meant to be? Waah!!

Fruitbatyogi · 08/03/2016 20:33

Still here planning ivf cycle in May, still trying, but 41 in September and feel pretty hopeless, been doing accupuncture for the last cycle - she is so so about ivf clinic I have chosen - so just feel more conflicted - Aghh
On the plus side acupuncturist is optimistic- someone has to be.. Actually DH is too? -strange

In reality I think that none of this will work but have to do this so I can feel I tried everything in the future, DD now 4 so similar to you little

LittlePoot · 12/03/2016 19:31

You sound like me fruitbat. I'm convinced its not going to work but compelled to try anyway. I keep having to remind myself of the huge run of bfps we had last year - and lots of 40 ish trying for a long time types. I'm hopeful for you!

Waitandwine · 19/03/2016 06:01

Well, would you believe it. We officially stopped trying at Christmas after 18 months x2 miscarriages and it nearly very nearly breaking us. This morning I got a BFP!

Let's hope it sticks!!

LittlePoot · 19/03/2016 07:42

Oh wait - what lovely news!! Sending sticky thoughts your way. Keep us updated! xx

Also keeping my fx for you little, I really hope it works out for you this time.

BurningGubbins · 20/03/2016 15:55

Congratulations wait!

I just popped by to say that DS2 was born on Wednesday. We're still very much in the fog but very happy after waiting 19 cycles to conceive him. Still can't quite believe it!

LittlePoot · 20/03/2016 17:03

Yay burning! Congratulations lovely. The fog may well last a bit longer yet but he'll be gorgeous and worth it.
