So, on the back of a run of rather fantastic success stories, it's time to start another thread for those of us still driving ourselves a bit nuts trying to work out why number 2 seems to be so elusive. New frustrated, obsessive testers always welcome (as are our lovely graduates) and let's hope this thread turns out as many success stories as the last.

Congratulations Loves, what a cutie!

Good luck with the move - we are trying to do the same before our next one arrives (I'm currently 18 weeks) and it's just a nightmare!

Fruitbatyogi · 21/10/2015 22:41

Congratulations Loves - so cute xx

Fruitbatyogi · 21/10/2015 22:47

Sorry I've not been posting much, I'm kind of loosing hope since my 40th.

GP made a referral to fertility clinic but that was a month ago and heard nothing since, I kind of wonder if it was a mistake to even try to get NHS investigation at this point as it might just be delaying potential treatment.

Have to say pretty gloomy about the stats of potential treatment too. Not sure I have much hope left Sad

DH still hopeful but I suspect doesn't know the statistics eg 40 you're not that old etc

MrsNuckyT · 22/10/2015 09:35

Congrats to all with BFPs and the Rosie pics are lovely!

fruitbag - sorry to hear you are feeling down. It might take a while for the referral to come through so maybe in the interim is a good time to just take a breather and try to relax. I know, I know. It is impossible to relax when you are feeling as you are, and everyone is telling you 'don't stress', but it's true and I guess there's nothing you can do in the meantime (except DtD of course!).

Fruitbatyogi · 23/10/2015 17:40

Well after that moan, got a call from the fertility clinic today, they have a cancelation for Monday do I want an appointment then? .... err yes please
Has definitely improved my mood Smile

LittlePoot · 26/10/2015 07:16

Hello lovely ladies. A million congratulations to crispie and loves! So lovely to hear about the safe arrivals of your beautiful little ones and I hope these early months include at least a little bit of sleep for you.

Great news about your appointment today fruitbat and I hope it gives you some progress. Hope everyone else is getting on ok as well.

As for me, I've surprised myself with just how much of a mug I can be - after 2 and however many years of trying, can you believe I still get my hopes up with fake pregnancy symptoms and then still come crashing down when the inevitable bfn arrives?! But that was that - my last cycle before ivf. I'm now on the pill, which is rather ironic wouldn't you say? Nurse appointment Wednesday to learn how to inject and insert the vast quantities of drugs I'll be taking over the next few weeks and then I guess we'll see.

Wow, how exciting Little! What's the timeframe for the process?

LittlePoot · 26/10/2015 21:40

It'll all be over one way or another in about six weeks from now! Very quick once you get started. Which will be great if it works, but if it doesn't then I'm not sure what will happen next. I guess it's not worth worrying about until we get there.

Hey I'd love to join you guys.
I'm trying to conceive with my new partner. I was recently on the mirena coil and had many failed attempts trying to remove it. However i took the cerazette pill as an overlap of 2 weeks whilst trying to remove the coil.
I was on the pill for about 2 months then stopped. Had my first period quite soon after in august then nothing in september and am currently on my 2nd period for October.
I am a bit stressed as im planning my wedding for this weekend but I so badly want another baby.
Does anyone have any tips. I've never really checked my ovulation times as I'm just learning about how to. Im hoping once things settle down I'll have tome to monitor everything properly.
It's really nice to have a group that can support each others needs and I've learnt alot just by reading.

Waitandwine · 02/11/2015 23:44

Sorry for the belated welcome tiyana hope the wedding went well.

Following my odd GP appointment a few weeks back, he seems to be very helpful after! He then sent me a letter referring me for further tests, which was a scan (all fine) and today I went Gyneo clinic. They were very nice, they said my fsh (?) is 9 which is higher than they would like to see, but prob due to age. They have requested I have my tubes checked with the dye and then go from there. Next appoint in six weeks.

Hope everyone else is doing ok X

mousey100 · 03/11/2015 00:02

Welcome Tiyanna!

Wait -sounds like progress! Last month AF arrived 4 days early so I obv wasn't pregnant and didn't need to take the progesterone I'd been prescribed to prevent another mc. Going for another consultant appt tomorrow for a pre-ov scan to check my lining etc. Feeling like I can't really believe I'm 10/11 cycles in. 2016 better be kinder to us all!

mousey100 · 03/11/2015 00:05

Wait -what changed with your GP? I gave up on mine but wondering if I should've had one last try to get NHS help?!!!

Waitandwine · 03/11/2015 23:35

I'm with you Mousey, 2016 it is! I asked him at the end of my very odd appointment if he would be able to get me some advice of where he (of his colleagues) would recommend to go privately, as I understood the NHS prob couldn't help. He did agree to that and said he would find out and write to me. The next week I got a letter from him saying he had referred me for initial investigations. They did say at my hosiptal appoint that I wouldn't qualify for ivf etc (which I totally understand)

LittlePoot · 04/11/2015 06:49

I actually had similar with my GP right at the start. What changed was that she actually read the guidelines and realised that there's a pathway of investigations recommended - which is what you're now getting. Fsh and lh tests then referral for an hsg test. Glad you're getting a bit of progress anyway!

OP posts:
Fruitbatyogi · 04/11/2015 07:30

Ditto for me with GP - all doom - nothing we can do the checked guidelines and referred me.

Update from me:
Saw fertility consultant last week, booked bloods -including AMH and Ultrasound
He offered me choice of HSG or not to check tubes - not quite sure why - he said one partner since pregnancy not likely to have damage - I asked about c section as a cause - he said well only 5% rate - my reply well that's one in 20 - so went for test

He was quite positive esp about the fact I conceived DD while on the pill said sign of good fertility if that happens - but then that was four years ago :(

I am back to see him xmas week, just waiting to get all the tests booked in.

10dpo today - not even bothering testing as pretty hopeless - will if af doesn't arrive Sunday

Have pretty much decided that if AMH etc low we will either go for one round of ivf with own eggs or just straight for donor eggs ivf - probably Spain

VillageFete · 04/11/2015 11:48

Hi everyone.

Welcome Tiyanas.

We're not having much luck are we?
This was my first month of trying with the clearblue fertility monitor, was happy to get my peak! Done it at all the correct times, tried really hard, but no joy! Just had a negative test. So bored of it all, almost 18 months in. I'm getting my hycosy on 17th this month, can't wait. I'm actually hoping there's a blockage so it can be fixed. Unexplained infertility is awful, it's like you're in limbo.

TiyanasMummy · 04/11/2015 12:55

Aww that sucks. Hopefully will be sorted soon

Waitandwine · 04/11/2015 18:59

Mousey, It definitely sounds like you should have a chat again to the GP.

It's day one again for me today, so start of a new month...so.....I have promised myself to be as positive as possible!

Good luck with with IVF this month Little, would be great to hear your experiences of it.

Fingers crossed for everyone else, we are due some good news again in this group :-)

Fruitbatyogi · 06/11/2015 08:38

Indeed we really do need some good luck round here!

Hello tiyana - lovely to have you :)

Little best of luck with the ivf - holding both thumbs for you xxx

LittlePoot · 06/11/2015 20:58

Thanks guys. All a bit surreal really. So far, I'm on thyroxine, the contraceptive pill, protein powder and about 8 different supplements!! Steroids and menopause mimicking injections start on Monday. Doesn't it sound delightful?! Will all be over one way or another in about five or six weeks. x

Hi everyone

Am I eligible to join? Smile

I fell PG by accident ten years ago whilst on the pill. I'm now 30 and been TTC with no success for six months.

Been lurking here for a while but never felt like I was a long term TTCer until I got to this point.

Anyway, hi Cake hope you don't mind me hovering.

Figgygal · 07/11/2015 21:37

Hey all

Can I join too!!

Ttc 2nd have an almost 4yo DS who was conceived in 6 weeks a unexpected pg 2 years ago from 1 reckless night which ended in mc at 6 weeks been ttc 10 months now.

My cycles are all over the place having gone from a regular 28 day cycle to a cycle over the last year which fluctuated between 24 and 33 days having seemingly settled now on 24 for the last 3 months.

I'm a couple months shy of 35 and so after many tears the drs last month checked bloods and hormone levels were normal and I seem to be ovulating. But half way through my cycle this month and nothing on the opks.

DH and I had always said we wouldn't take the fun out of ttc but after 10 months I'm going to science the shit out of it. If we don't get lucky in next couple of months will be back to dr for dh to be checked out.

I've downloaded an app which tracks temperature, mucus (god help me), ovulation called kindara but keep forgetting to use it. I'm giving up hope for this month dh already 40 ds going to school next year I don't have many more months left in me for this ttc lark.

Going to read the thread now!!

LittlePoot · 07/11/2015 21:58

Hi, Bex and Figgy, welcome to this lovely group. Wishing you lots of luck x

mousey100 · 09/11/2015 15:18

Anyone having private treatment had anticoagulant blood tests? Been told it's £650. Am in two minds whether to have them this month or wait and try the progesterone I was given last month IF I get a bfp. Knew all these things would cost, but suppose I wasn't expecting to pay quite so much so soon. Just entering 2ww & anxious and confused. Any advice gratefully received.
