So, on the back of a run of rather fantastic success stories, it's time to start another thread for those of us still driving ourselves a bit nuts trying to work out why number 2 seems to be so elusive. New frustrated, obsessive testers always welcome (as are our lovely graduates) and let's hope this thread turns out as many success stories as the last.

Hi mousey. I didn't have those, or the inflammation type tests. A friend of mine did but she was having recurrent miscarriages (unlike me - recurrent bfn but nothing else). Turned out that was her problem so a short course of heparin later she's now 36 weeks. In my case, we decided to go for the ivf directly so we didn't fancy another grand in tests before forking out for those! Not sure if I'm being any help?! What are you thinking?

Thanks LittlePoot, helps to hear a positive story. Was that her 2nd child too? That is also my problem, had two early mc since June. Last month he thought it might be my low progesterone but not had chance to try it yet. Think that's why am bit reluctant to do the blood tests now as maybe the progesterone is the answer? Then again, if I've got a clotting issue I guess it's better to find out sooner rather than later as I'm assuming progesterone won't help anyway if that's the case. How can our bodies change so much after having a healthy baby (even if that was nearly 3 years ago?)
Also the Consultant had said it was about £150, that's why I'm so shocked!!! (He also said I could rock up anytime but turned out I needed an appt so he clearly doesn't quite know it all!) Don't want another mc so guess I'll just close my eyes and handover my card again & hope this is the answer.

LittlePoot · 09/11/2015 21:02

I think the progesterone is worth a try - although easy for me to say I know. But your tests showed your level was low didn't they? My friend was on baby number 2. Actually had 6 miscarriages before she gave up with her NHS m/c clinic and went private where they suggested those tests and the immune ones.

Husband now saying we should do the tests next month and use progesterone first. Just wondering why the consultant would say to have them done now? Maybe he senses I'm desperate for answers?!

Waitandwine · 10/11/2015 14:33

Hiya Mousey, wow these decisions are so hard. For what it's worth,if it was me I would try progesterone first to rule it out then, have those as the next step. Xxx

mousey100 · 10/11/2015 20:04

Thanks wait. I think that's what we'll do. Had already got my head around it being a long journey so suppose another month won't make a big difference. Have you had your hsg yet?

Waitandwine · 10/11/2015 20:47

I have it on Friday, my follow up appointment with the consultant is mid Dec. Ever hopeful, I still have everything crossed it just happens.... 18 months down the line!!. It's just coming up to 12 months since my mc, so it would be do nice if it did!

Good luck with he progesterone fx

Waitandwine · 10/11/2015 20:48

*so nice

LittlePoot · 10/11/2015 21:52

Hope it's all ok Friday wait. I didn't find my hsg very uncomfortable but I know it can be for some. I did take pain killers an hour before it so maybe that helped. There is meant to be a higher chance of getting pregnant in the three months after an hsg so fingers crossed it'll work for you.

I'm doing ok with injecting weird crap into my tummy rolls (always knew they'd be good for something) and haven't really had any side effects so far. Another week or so of 'down regulation' then I start stimulating my ovaries. All very odd!

OP posts:
Waitandwine · 10/11/2015 22:55

Thanks for the tip Little, I'll do that.

Glad you have no side effects, I hope it all goes well for you. I remember having to inject for a week after my emcs, I found it really odd as it goes against what your head says!

Let's hope we have a flurry of bfp's soon xx

mousey100 · 11/11/2015 09:30

Good luck Wait -also heard lots of positive stories post hsg.

Fingers crossed for us all, def due a surge of BFPs on this thread again soon!

Figgygal · 11/11/2015 13:22

Let's hope for those BFP's as I am genuinely feeling like giving up I want to change jobs I want to book a holiday for ds before he goes to school I want to go on a planned girly weekend to new York next year at least if it happened then we know I cant do those things but at the moment my life is on bloody hold.

cocothomas1234 · 11/11/2015 16:20

I've finally got a sticky strong bean after 10 months of trying and 5 early losses, currently 16dpo, got my first strong positive at 9do on FR and little one has been going strength to strength since (my other little one's were faint from the start and never really got much further). I have a 2 year old girl and posted on here a couple of months back in a bit of a state. I know 10 months is nothing compared to some of the lovely ladies on here but right now it feels like a lifetime, I was going crazy dreaming about POAS and seeing strong lines!

I was due to visit the fertility clinic in Jan and I'm holding out a little while longer before cancelling that appointment, but I really hope I have to, my GP reckons I've just had bad luck (the fact I fell and carried to term with my DD without complication he said rules out most of the tests straight away, apparently), I was pissed at them for saying that at the time but now I'm hoping they were right.

Piccie attached of the past 3 days Tesco cheapies (the FR was done at 9dpo) and I'll keep you all posted with hopefully good news! I hope this gives some of you some hope, I know seeing these helped me no end. Whether you stay with me or leave me little one, I love you already and always xxxx

Congrats Coco! Brilliant news, def made me feel a bit more hopeful. Lovely to have some positive news. X

Waitandwine · 12/11/2015 10:05

Congrats Coco, that's fantastic news. Fx for you

Fruitbatyogi · 13/11/2015 17:14

Hope it went ok today wait xx

Waitandwine · 13/11/2015 21:12

Thanks Fruit, it was a lot quicker than I had imagined. I was lucky as I didn't find it too uncomfortable. They didn't say anything about the results, just that it would be sent on to my Consultant.

LittlePoot · 13/11/2015 21:45

Glad it wasn't awful. Did you watch on the screen as they did it? I could see the dye wriggling through both sides so could see it was fine. Not that its helped! Hope you're not waiting too long for results.

Congrats coco! Hope all's still well.

VillageFete · 16/11/2015 00:10

Congrats Coco!

Hi ladies, well I have my hycosy this week. Is this the same as a hsg? I get my results the following week. Really, really hope that you are that bit more fertile after this procedure? This is month 17 of trying. I never would have imagined it could take anywhere near this long!!!

Figgygal · 16/11/2015 22:01

Village good luck with the procedure can't say im familiar with it but haven't really looked at what medical interventions there are yet.

2 of my ante natal group have announced pregnancies in last month that's 2 of 4 I'm the oldest been trying the longest and I'm getting nowhere. I'm so down about it and dh attitude of don't be negative makes me want to scream.

Waitandwine · 17/11/2015 21:14

Hang on in there fight.

Done the clear blue again this month went one day flashy smiley to static and dh is away with work until thurs! Aaaarrrrggggghhhhhhh nightmare! I thought Thursday would be dead on ov and be fine, but it's a day early. I could scream!

Waitandwine · 17/11/2015 21:58

Sorry meant to be hang on in there figgy..blooming predictive text!

mousey100 · 19/11/2015 14:23

Wait -think static smiley just tells you ov imminent but could happen within next 24-36 hours. Can you dtd while the static is still displayed? Lasts 48 hours I think. Good luck!
