So, on the back of a run of rather fantastic success stories, it's time to start another thread for those of us still driving ourselves a bit nuts trying to work out why number 2 seems to be so elusive. New frustrated, obsessive testers always welcome (as are our lovely graduates) and let's hope this thread turns out as many success stories as the last.

With the day 21 bloods - make sure you book that in for 7dpo, whichever cycle day that works out at for you personally. That's because progesterone peaks at 7dpo and they gauge your levels based on that, assuming everyone ovulates in day 14 of a 28 day cycle, which of course they don't.

mousey100 · 28/09/2015 19:12

Oh dear, did I kill the thread with my whinging? Sorry! How is everyone?

mrsmugoo · 28/09/2015 20:09

Hanging on in there on the 2ww but had some brown spotting today at 10 dpo so I'm
not quite sure what to make of that - it's confusing that I'm spotting on progesterone.

Waitandwine · 28/09/2015 20:42

No Mousey!! Just in a bit of limbo land. My clear blue advanced thingy went straight from circle to static smiley, no flashing ones, so no idea what's with it this month. Nothing is ever consistent. Will have my 21 day bloods at end of week. Then decide on where to go private. Feeling like I need to be a bit more positive, but getting fed up of it tbh!!!

Brown spotting, let's hope it's the sign of something exciting and not dreaded af.

mousey100 · 28/09/2015 20:48

Go mrsmugoo! Could it be implantation bleeding? Fingers crossed. Have heard great things about progesterone supplements, really hope it does the trick for you.

mousey100 · 28/09/2015 21:49

Waitandwine -I hear you! Did we work out we were in similar area? PM me if you want to discuss private clinic sometime, I'm going round in circles with ours!

mrsmugoo · 28/09/2015 21:50

It's just really disappointing to me - I thought I'd finally be able to get to 14 dpo with clean knickers!!

Waitandwine · 29/09/2015 16:23

Mousey, we're not same area i'm afraid. I am going to get my test results, see what they say then plan my next step.

Mrsmugoo, that's a shame, let's hope next month is lucky for us all, it was so nice to see bish's good news. Ready for some more!

mrsmugoo · 30/09/2015 13:10

I got a BFP this morning!

Still a little bit of brown spotting but not red and it was a decent line on the test so fingers crossed!

Woop woop! Brilliant news MrsM. Congrats!

Waitandwine · 30/09/2015 15:21

Congratulations that is fantastic. So pleased for you. There is no mistaking that line!

LittlePoot · 30/09/2015 17:54

Fantastic MrsM - lovely news!! So great that you've managed to find a key to your issue - fingers crossed the rest of your journey is smooth and uneventful. x

Woo hop - congrats mrsM very pleased for you xx

Fruitbatyogi · 30/09/2015 20:07

Over here GP finally wrote me a letter saying I did meet the referal criteria and he had referred me to the fertility clinic - which is good.

Decided to Dtd every day from day 9 this month, currently day 14 and flagging a bit - resorting to hold ups tonight Grin

LittleTink76 · 01/10/2015 11:55

Hi, I thought I would pop back on here after leaving this thread & Mumsnet early this year. I've name changed I was Bobsy, I don't know if anyone will remember me.

Metal. I'm so pleased you finally got your BFP & that all is going well.

Little hope it's your turn next.

Good luck to everyone on the thread.

I just wanted to give you all a bit of hope because after over 2.5 years of TTC #2 I have finally got a BFP. I hope nobody minds me coming on and announcing my BFP, I just understand the struggle. I cancelled my Mumsnet membership earlier this year as I was getting too obsessed.

mousey100 · 01/10/2015 13:16

Congrats Littletink! I find BFPs when people have struggled, v encouraging! Hope you have a h&h 9 months.

My news is a bit less encouraging. Started another early mc yesterday, after a week of pathetically faint bfp lines I got a bfn on tues. Tbh I knew it wasn't right as I had patiently waited til I was 3 days late to test and I'd had a stupidly low progesterone reading so didn't think I'd even ov'd this month. Off to see a specialist tomorrow on a bit of a whim, and actually quite excited to hear what he has to say.

Hopefornumber2 · 01/10/2015 13:23

Coming to the end of cycle 12 ttc#2 and its so hard. In due at in about a week but have af cramps at cd21 and opk clear blue peaked fertility at cd10?? Never happened before. I know how hard it can be to stay positive and happy for all those baby bumped mamas out there who "weren't really trying, it just happened so easily". Bitter I know. Maybe it's time for fertility help? First baby only took 6 months. Losing hope after a year of bfn why this month would be any different Sad

Waitandwine · 01/10/2015 13:24

Congrats to LittleTink, all good news is great to hear. Wishing you all the very best.

Oh Mousey that is rubbish, bet you feel emotionally drained. Hope it goes well with Specialist X

Hopefornumber2 · 01/10/2015 13:26

Fantastic and well done for keeping hope and strength to ttc for that long. Do you mind me asking, did you have to have fertility treatment? And did you conceive without any problems with baby number 1?

Hopefornumber2 · 01/10/2015 13:34

Hi I'm new to this thread hope you don't mind me joining in. Just wondered if you went to a private clinic in the end? And how long you should ttc for before you can book with one. My GP shrugged off any problems saying we obviously are compatible if we have one child. Not helpful! I've had all the blood tests and everything came back fine but they didn't go into any details about results just called me to say "no further tests needed"Sad

Metalhead · 01/10/2015 14:33

Omg littletink, so pleased to hear about your BFP, huge congratulations!! I hope you have a totally uneventful pregnancy. Same goes for you mrsmugoo.

So sorry to hear about your mc mousey, I hope the specialist will be able to offer you some advice/help.

hope you should be offered at least a pelvic scan and hycosy/HSG to check your tubes as well as blood tests, and you DH should have a sperm analysis. Go back to your GP or see another one and say you're not happy being fobbed off like that!

Hopefornumber2 · 01/10/2015 15:05

Thanks metal. I had to have an internal scan due to a 20 day long period in jan that had to be medically stopped. They thought it might have been mmc or something but couldn't see anything to show a pregnancy happened. GP said no point going again unless problem with bloods and that we should "just relax" DH has the forms from GP to have sperm check done but he works so far from home that we can never get it done in time and make it to the lab in their set window. Now it's been 12 months we will make time. Also got a boots own sperm checker. Anyone ever tried them? Might get DH to do that this week as am in 2ww

VillageFete · 01/10/2015 18:39

MrsM - Huge congrats!!!! Was their anything done different this month to help get that bfp?

LittleTink - congratulations to you, so lovely to hear that news after such a long time TTC.

Mousey - I'm so sorry, I really hope you are ok & that it's not long before you conceive again.

Well I get my results on Tues after a 6 week wait. They done blood tests, and an internal. Nurse rang me on Monday & said the consult will discuss with me on Tues the possibilty of a hycosy, based on my results (She didn't know my results, she was just responding to me pestering over a hycosy)

I took an ov test last Wed & it was negative, didn't take one Thurs, took one fri/sat/sun and they were negative. Now Wed's test had a prominent line but not positive, Fri's line was faint, then no line Sat/Sun. Really hoping my test would have been positive on Thurs or i've not ovulated this month. DTD on Fri & Sat so hoping i'm still in the game this month. 14 months in this month & i'm so bored of this shit.

mrsmugoo · 01/10/2015 20:10

VillageFete yes, it was my first month on progesterone pessaries to sort out my crappy luteal phase. Seems to have worked!

LittleTink76 · 01/10/2015 21:26

Thank you everyone.

I'm still finding it hard to believe after so long. I told OH last week I'd started AF because of the tiny bit of spotting I got 9dpo which I always get pre-AF , but ended up being the tiniest bit of spotting & then just stopped. I had all other symptoms that AF was going to start, also I thought we hadn't DD close enough to ov.

Hopefornumber2 No I've had no fertilty treatment, last year age 38 my doc said there was no point doing further tests because its probably down to my age not producing as many eggs & quality not as good. I had a scan & blood tests earlier last year & all came back clear. DD wasnt planned.

One of the main issues with TTC was my OH's lack of cooperation, he's got a low sex drive!

I know how hard it is hearing of other's pregnancy who caught quickly, I know a few people who got their DC2 very quickly & that was always hard to hear.

Metal When are you due?
